Appearance

Riley is slightly above average height for a woman. Standing at a healthy 5’7” she rarely wears heels unless she is dressing up. Her fair porcelain colored skin pops against her dark brown hair, as do her bright blue eyes. Her smile can light up a room, but it’s a rare occasion that it happens, as only a select few people have ever been able to get her to truly smile.

Her style varies depending on her mood. There are times when she will wear dresses, and times she will wear jeans and a t-shirt, though her clothing choices have been described as boho, or vintage before. She likes to disappear in a crowd, because it’s easier that way.

Face Claim

Michelle Trachtenburg

Personality

Riley is quiet for the most part, unless she really gets to know you. Once she has opened herself up to you though, she will talk for hours. She’s a dreamer, and highly in touch with her emotions, though sometimes that is a severe issue. She’s one to wear her heart on her sleeve, which often leaves her open to bullying, which was a main cause of her depression. Loyal to a select few, Riley would gladly give her own life to save a friend’s…provided she actually had true friends.

Ons & Offs

Riley doesn't really know what her ons and offs are sexually. The attempted rape by her father left her a bit detached from the idea of sex. To be intiment with someone she would need a deep emotional connection.

Social attributes she finds attractive are loyalty, kindess, a good sense of humor, and an ability to deal with her when she's in a depressive state.

Offs: Mean, abusive, cold hearted assholes.

History

Riley was born in Monroe Louisiana, but her parents resided out towards Black Bayou Lake Wildlife reserve in a small cabin. There was barely enough room for both of her parents and her, and they made that readily apparent. From a young age Riley knew she’d not been planned, but as she got older she realized that she hadn’t been wanted either. At first that didn’t deter he love of life, and up until the age of about thirteen Riley was fine.

When she hit thirteen and started to mature her father took notice, and her mother took notice of her husband’s attentions. It was on her fifteenth birthday that things truly got bad for her, and Riley’s father tried to rape her. Her mother caught him, and after fighting him off of the young girl, shot him with a shotgun. That was the start of Riley’s true decent into depression. With a mother who never wanted her anyways now blaming her daughter for the events that had transpired; the young woman tried to take her own life two months after her birthday, with a combination of pills and cutting.

Much to her surprise Riley woke up in the hospital three days later, and was forced into psychiatric care. Her mother was obviously unfit to take care of her, and wound up being put in prison for child endangerment, and Riley became a ward of the state. The courts decided she wasn’t mentally stable enough to put in a foster home, so she was put in a psych ward instead.

Months went by, and if you asked Riley she wouldn’t be able to tell you how many, before she spoke to anyone. She just sat in her room crying for hours on end, barely eating, until one day he showed up. In her doorway, stood Jason Masters; the two of them completely unaware at the time of how much they would end up needing each other.

Jason quickly became the only person who could calm Riley down during her bouts of depression, and the orderlies noticed it. Riley didn’t even care about his past. She was told what he was accused of and paid no attention to it. In her mind, there was no way that someone so sweet could have done such terrible things. The two became almost inseparable, and it was that way for three years, until Riley got some wonderful, yet awful news. They wanted her to leave now that she was of age and seemed healthy.

She didn’t want to go. Not because she didn’t miss the outside world…she craved it. No, Riley didn’t want to leave Jason. Their relationship had slipped into co-dependency years before, though it was never noticeable enough for the shrinks to do anything about it because they never saw the two together. It was telling Jason that broke Riley though. He didn’t take it well, and she couldn’t understand why he thought she wanted to leave him.

Riley knew the only reason she was any better was because of him, so when she was released it didn’t take Riley long to try to kill herself again. This time, she was going to jump. There was an old bridge out near a Plantation home on the outskirts of New Orleans. The Tussaud Plantation. It was said the home was abandoned, so Riley didn’t think anyone would notice her death on the property for days. She was wrong.

Standing on the edge of the bridge, the young woman was about to take her last breaths, as she heard a voice behind her. Giselle Tussaud, had heard Riley’s heartbreak. The young woman spun around so quickly that she started to tumble, but the red head that had spoken caught her. Suddenly Riley’s mind was at ease. She didn’t understand why either, until the woman explained what she was; a vampire. She promised Riley that she would help her, and help her she did. Giselle made sure the young woman couldn’t kill herself. She turned Riley into a vampire, and showed the young woman the ropes of how to be what she was now.

She also promised Riley that she would help her get Jason out of the psych ward if he proved that he’d not done what he was accused of, all Riley had to do was better herself by going to school. Over the next four years the young woman attended Law school trying to find any way she could to help Jason, and writing him every day, and even started to call to speak with him about three months after she was released. Riley also followed his case as closely as she could until one day a contact of Giselle’s informed the two of them that Jason’s case was potentially being reopened, as some new evidence came to light. That evidence was all Giselle needed. She went and spoke with the young man, and was quickly convinced that he wasn’t the killer that he’d been accused of being. When she returned to Riley who had been living off the plantation in her own apartment for a couple years, she told the young vampire the good news.

Sadly the news wasn’t all that great, and before Jason could be released Giselle had to pull a few strings. After a year of paperwork and using up some contacts Giselle finally managed to keep her word to Riley. Jason was released from the psych ward with no further charges. Riley was waiting for him in the car when he was released and the two basically ran away together. They are now traveling the world (mainly the states) and seeing the sites together, and Riley never plans on looking back.
