Raul isn't exactly hardworking as he tends to half-ass his way through most things but he wasn't exactly a fit for any of the other houses either. He thinks his sparkling personality is why the hat made him a 'Puff but really its more that he values the traits of Hufflepuff he finds in others. How did your character react to this news? He was almost completely indifferent. Houses don't mean much to him other than a place to sleep, though he was secretly pleased to have something with which to prick at his grandmother. Are his/her parents former house mates of this house? Nooooo. His mother and grandmother were Slytherin. His father was a Gryffindor... as is his half-sister. What traits associated with the house are noticeable in this character? Raul is loyal to those he deems worthy regardless of whatever else is going on. He is also rather tolerant and open-minded and admires those who are willing to work hard for what they want rather than expect it to be handed to them. A Little Deeper

In contrast to his best friend, Raul Dominguez grew up with a rather overbearing parent as well as the additional meddlesome influence of his grandmother, Trinity, who he is quite sure is as nutters as they come. Still, despite all this, Raul has always seemed like a larger than life sort of guy—even as an undersized young wizard back in JWA. It probably helped that he met Dragan Prince early on in his life and was able to escape some of the torment at home by spending quite a lot of time at Dragan's house but regardless Raul has refused to allow the Hale women to crush his spirit. Raul never knew his father but thanks to his mother and her frequent explosive rants, he has a less than complementary picture of the man who abandoned them not to mention the view he has of his aunt, the woman who apparently stole him away. Usually he simply blocks all that unpleasantness out but it is a large part of the reason he never seems willing to commit to one girl for very long. He doesn't want to deal with the drama of love and all that other mushy stuff the way both Dragan and Landon seem to actually like doing. In any case, life is just one big party for Raul. His family can take their demands and expectations and shove them for all that he cares, he just wants to enjoy his life. Even if that means he ends up a penniless wanderer... Of course, with his knack for cards and other games that's highly unlikely but that's neither here nor there. Raul has only very recently become aware that he has a half-sister at Hogwarts.
