Personality
Feisty - Phoenyx didn't get 'LIVE WIRE' tattooed on her knuckles for nothing. She's no wilting flower! The girl's got spunk and it shows. She'll spar with the best of 'em and love every minute so its best to remember Nyx will give as good as she gets. Rebellious - With a mother who would seemingly love to wrap her children in bubble wrap just to get out of bed, Phoenyx has grown to hate restriction. She hates toeing the line just to make other people feel better and she refuses to allow herself to be sheltered. She has common sense but of course sometimes even that it thrown to the wind. She does what she wants, when she wants. No excuses. Free spirited - Phoenyx's world view is not shaped by convention or societal norms but rather by her own intuition and say so. Anything goes ;) Fearless (nearly) - Nyx can seem more than a little confrontational at times and just a little to eager to tackle the road block in her path but that is only because too many times has she come up against those who would attempt to instill fear in her for their own agendas. Nyx of course isn't having it. Fear is just another limit as far as she sees it and she refuses to be the first to back down. Strong willed - A nice way of saying she's stubborn as a mule. She's capable of bending when it suits but as her mother likes to say, "trying to get through to that girl is like beating your head against a brick wall." A closet romantic (like deep deeeeeep in the closet) - Yeah, okay so Phoenyx presents a tough face to the world and even seems to have a bit of chip on her shoulder, and of course her reputation paints her as being easier than a Sunday morning and all about the hard, fast rush, but truthfully her rep is more assumption and speculation than fact. Phoenyx doesn't mind a little fun but all the mushy sweet stuff like being brought flowers, candle light, long walks, and the rest still makes her go utterly gooey on the inside. Course, good luck getting her to show it on the outside. |
A Little Deeper
When your father manages to go out in a blaze of glory almost literally because he was too damn drugged up to know what the hell he was doing it tends to leave a mark. Unfortunately Phoenyx was too young at the time for that mark to really sink in clearly but it did change her mother from free spirited wild child to a too strict and altogether fearful woman. This led to Billie attempting to shelter her children from all the evils of the world and as such she seems to have driven them completely in the opposite direction. The tattoos? Rebellion. The piercings? Rebellion. Staying out too late? Rebellion. Taking unnecessary risks? Rebellion. Atlas at least has taken to music and that seems to have settled him some, not to mention he spends most of the year away at Hogwarts but Phoenyx on the other hand sees no point in 'mellowing' for the sake of everyone else's comfort. She doesn't start fights (at least not directly), she does her assignments (mostly), isn't 16 and pregnant, and isn't drugged up (pot doesn't count), so as far as she's concerned she isn't hurting anybody or anything. Every time someone points out how her father lived and how young he died as some sort of cautionary tale all Phoenyx has to say is, “at least he went out happy, right?” – which is more than she can say for her too cautious mother who never seems to smile anymore. Phoenyx likes being a witch but she's got no grand plan to become an Auror or Minister of Magic one day. In fact, she hasn't a clue what direction her future is headed. She's content to take things one day at a time and simply focus on living each day to the fullest. |
