It is known by those who have attended functions hosted by her in the past that Payton specializes in charity work devoted to the advancement of underprivileged muggles, who are largely ignored by popular society. It is not uncommon for her to expound to anyone who would take but a moment to lean an ear about the struggles and tribulations of those who were unfortunately born without a sliver of magic in their veins. Those who have benefited from her dedication or witnessed her work, have called Payton a blessed angel. Unlike some of her peers within the same financial bracket, the youngest Mengsk does not merely write a check without stepping foot inside of an orphanage or shelter. Payton can be found in apron and hairnet at hours in which some still sleep, serving food to those who cannot feed themselves. She has helped throughout the years to create different types of gift bags for those the holidays in which she was not away at school. It is only with her family does this mask receded enough for Payton’s loathing of those who she has effectively dedicated most of her life to. To Name and Name’s chagrin, their third child turned out to be a rather plain and chubby cheeked daughter. Her name, questioned throughout the rest of her life, was her father’s final expression of his disappointment to have yet another daughter. Her older siblings, Odelia, the middle and brightest child, and Alfred, the oldest and quite possible the most reckless, were not very interested in their new sister due to her inability to keep up throughout their traipsing around the ancestral grounds. From the moment Payton displayed comprehensive abilities, her mother instilled not only a deep pride within her for Germany, their true home, and its rich history but also the vast importance of her family’s legacy. Her loyalty was to be given first and foremost to her family, regardless of any outsider’s opinions on the matter. Even when married, the reputation and prosperity of Mengsk was to be her first priority. The second lesson explained, mostly by her father, was the vast majority of people within the world shockingly were born with a disability which could not be cured through magical means. They were born without the ability to perform magic. For Payton, the thought was inconceivable since magic and all its branches had been a part of her life since her first breath. “How can one survive without magic, Papa?” was the question which came from her lips. It was explained that so deep was their sorrow for their insufficiencies, that at some unknown point within history but most certainly eons ago, they simply willed themselves to forget about magic in its entirety, condemning such displays of power to be categorized as miracles or written in folk stories. These people, called muggles, were to be pitied and treated with delicate hands. For it was the only way to help them avoid making perilous mistakes which could offset the balance within not only their world but the wizarding as well. Payton was terrified. For weeks after being told about those who lurked just beyond her home’s lands, her dreams were haunted with nightmares about these monsters whose faces were gnarled and fingers colder than her grandmother’s touch. Whenever her father left for extended periods, she would howl and cry to her mother’s embarrassment, afraid the muggles would somehow steal her father’s ability to cast magic. Finally, to put a stop to Payton’s hysterics, it was decided she would accompany her father on his business and charity trips in order to rid her of an unreasonable fear. It did not take long for it to abate, especially after repeatedly witnessing how muggles stumbled throughout the world. Easy tasks, performed in a matter of seconds by her parents, was made difficult by them thus superiority complex was born. At the tender age of fourteen, her father appointed it her full duty to oversee the Mengsk’s charity involvement. It was a task Payton took in stride. Although her family, mostly her father, believed it was their duty to ensure muggles received the proper amount of care, their mercy for those with tainted blood did not extend much further. No one with less than a half blood status was permitted to step foot within their home. After each volunteer session, the clothes tainted due to excessive touch from nonmagicals was burned before her body was rigorously scrubbed to rid her of their essence. The years spent at Junior Wizarding Academy were not full of much other than becoming more aware of her peers. She did not expand much beyond the circle of friends in which she already knew from social gatherings among their parents' homes. Adjustment to life in Hogwarts was rather difficult at first due to being used t o being around her family at all times. Soon however, she found her ability to prosper in her new setting. She enjoys the luxuries brought to her through a marriage to a man of power and fiercely enforces the belief of her children being superior not only due to their blood but their last name. Her acknowledgement of her family is meager at most because she is ashamed of where she came from. Julianne is an avoid lover of expensive gifts and parties. Benedict Mengsk, father Benedict is a mostly laid back man who takes has always preached hard work should be rewarded within his household. He appointed different duties to his children to ensure they did not end up being spoiled brats. For example, Alfred was required to do menial task in the family business before his father allowed him to move up and through a ladder of positions. In recent years, Benedict's personality has changed to the point where it is noticeable to those closest to him. The reason has not been revealed but it has driven a small wedge between Payton and he but she would not utter a word against him. Alfred Mengsk, brother, works in family company Alfred never really enjoyed the pressure of being the eldest in the family. He has no ambition to assume the Patriarch role if something ever happened to those in line before him. Alfred has a love for different types of sport and often goes off to participate or watch with his friends. He has made no serious attempts to court any woman to become his wife despite his mother's pressures. Odelia Mengsk, sister, works in family company Odelia Mengsk has always been the brightest child in the family. It is possible she has read every single book in the family library and then come up with a better system to arrange them. Whereas Alfred is quite possibly Benedict's favorite, Odelia is the shining star of her mother. Odelia withdrew from Hogwarts within her fourth year due to securing a marriage but continued to educate herself through tutoring and self teaching methods. She currently helps where she can within her father's business but is not able to do much due to being pregnant with her first child. Salvatore Mengsk, cousin, next in line for patriarch role Payton has always held a soft spot for her cousin above other members of her family. Her desire to see him succeed not only as head of the family but in life has always burned fiercely. She can be slightly protective of him even though he can handle himself reasonably well.
