Appearance
Nate is tall and lean, and even though he has a well-developed and well-defined muscle mass, he is not considered big. He usually keeps his black hair cut short, and his face clean but it isn't all that unusual for him to sport a 2-3 day growth around the time of the full moon. He is clean, takes really good care of himself.
Personality
Clean, ordered, methodical are good words chosen to define Nate. Laws are there for a reason, and he's one for rules. He is headstrong and doesn't bend easily, but he will recognize the authority of the territory's alpha. He is loyal to his kind, to his pack. He loves nature, no matter which form he is in. He loves the sounds there which is, for him, the sound of silence. No car, no human-made noise... just nature, the wind in the leaves, the song of birds and the occasional scratching of squirrels and other small animals...

History
Nate is born of an alpha pair. His parents are still out there, along the Atlantic coast with their pack. By the time he had his first shift, Nate already knew what was going to happen. His parents had explained everything to him in details so that he would be prepared for the pain, and the change in his senses. Up until then, Nate has been a straight A student in about every subject but PE because he didn't really care for it. After his change, however, that changed too.
He was the first man of his family to go to university. He had a football scholarship, which helped him get a degree in business management. He was a part of his parent's pack until he felt he could no longer respect the alpha. He never thought himself a loner, just an explorer. He had plenty of time to settle down and planned to see as much as he could before he did.
He married once, but it was brief. She was human, not werewolf, and he loved her like he never thought possible. When they learned that she was pregnant, they quickly got married before she would be judged by her peers. She died giving birth, five months after the wedding. Nate raised him as best he could, the boy went through his teenage phase without a hitch and grew into a normal human adult. Even though Nate would have preferred to stay around his son to see him grow older, have children of his own and all that jazz, he found himself having to leave them behind so that his son could have a normal life. Introducing Nate as his father, when they looked about the same age, would seem a little odd.
He kept an eye on his son from afar, making sure that the wolf gene had not just skipped a generation, but Nate's prayers for his descendants to have a normal life seemed to have been answered. Nate knew about vampires, he had encountered some before and remained respectfully distant of them. With all the folklore that pitched the vampire and werewolves at odds and at war with one another, Nate didn't want to risk it.
He found his way to Vermont, following the trail of a pack that seemed small, but with a stronger leader to keep them on track. He wanted to see whether or not he would be allowed to join the pack.
