Personality
Nathan, despite his size and physical presence, can easily go unnoticed do to his quiet nature. He is one of lifes observers, often preferring to be on the sideline rather than stuck in the center of the action. However, if and when it comes time to step up and stand up for his beliefs Nate will be there without question. Generous and kind to those deserving, he can be quite cold to people who see themselves as better than others, simply because of accident of birth. Intelligent, witty and charming (when he feels the need to be) Nathan honors his grandfather’s name by doing his best in school and in life, and avoiding confrontations whenever he can and focusing on what is important, his education. He has been described as “a nice guy” by many of the girls in his year. His mates often laugh, calling it the “kiss of death” for his social life. Nathan simply shrugs it off. After all, it is Nate that is often found in the library, with a table full of beauties asking for his help. Stupid, Nate is not! Currently Nate is in a long distance relationship with a girl attending Beauxbatons Academy of Magic. They write often, but lately he has noticed her letters have been coming far and few in between. He puts it down to the oncoming exams, but a small voice in the back of his head tells a different story. |
A Little Deeper
Nathan grew up as the only son of a Butler and Chef that work at a manor home. He was brought up with riches and luxury all around him, yet always just out of his reach. They lived in a two bedroom apartment over the garage while the family of the home (consisting of the Lord of the Manor, his wife, and their daughter and son) shared a twenty two bedroom home with more rooms in it that Nate cared to count. As a child he couldn’t understand why the family wouldn’t share, it wasn’t like they didn’t have the room. As a young boy he was adventurous, running about the grounds, climbing trees, and swimming in the lakes and ponds near the property. He had to keep his magical abilities to himself and so he often played alone. However the youngest girl that lived in the big house took a shine to him and soon began following Nathan around, much to the disapproval of the Lord and his wife. As the days went along the young girl fancied herself “in love” with Nate and decided to show her affection with an innocent kiss. Nate was nine and a half years old, the girl eight. It was innocent, however the Lord of the Manor had decided to make sure Nathan never forgot his place. Taking young Nate by the arm, Lord Alfredsson branded his harm with a piece of hot iron, marking him to signify the day the boy had forgotten his place. Obviously upset, Barbara wanted to leave the house, insisting on calling the police and pressing charges. However there were no credible witnesses in the eyes of the law, a fact pointed out by her husband. It was then decided, in order to protect Nathan, and bring him closer to the schools that would be able to help him with his gift, that Barbra reluctantly agreed to send her only son to live in London, England with her father in law. Nathan thrived in JWA, soaking up the knowledge like an eager sponge. He remained quiet in his nature, though he never forgot the anger that flowed through him the day he was branded a commoner.
