Personality
Most would say that Monique is sweet, charming, a little quirky, but definitely fun. She is a driven individual but her focus tends to be outside herself. She can never ignore someone in need and feels most satisfied when she is able to make someone else's day a little brighter. She does have dreams of making it big one day in the world of musical theater and would love to bring several of her own ideas to the stage with her bestie right beside her. Monique's Magical Menagerie will one day be a very real thing, of that she is 100% sure, but for now school and mastering the concepts that will help make that dream a reality take up the bulk of her time. |
A Little Deeper

Monique's home life mostly consists of time to herself. With a tech geek for a mother who spends every waking hour working, she has become a very self-sufficient young woman. But she was also rather lonely as a young child. Sure, money was rarely ever an issue but she would have given it all up if it meant her mother might stop and talk to her for even 2 seconds. Unfortunately, her mother did not (and still doesn't) understand magic and seemed to even fear it to some degree so the few times they did spend time together things were generally strained to the point that Monique was positive her mother hated her. As a result of her somewhat lonely childhood, Monique developed a rather vivid imagination and found herself drawn to a somewhat kindred spirit in Nerissa Royce at the start of JWA. It started as just a genuine attempt to cheer up the somewhat sullen 1st former and ended up turning into a bond that seems utterly unbreakable. Of course, looking at the two of them separately these days its not always apparent just how these two mesh so well but Monique is grateful to have her NeNe.
