Personality
Lucy can be a hard girl to “figure out” for some. On the surface of things she can sometimes appear a bit disconnected from reality, given to periods of daydreaming and doodling or humming, but the truth is just that Lucy just has her own way of seeing things. For her the world is rarely black and white, instead existing in brilliant splashes of color that overlap and create interesting shades that should be explored.
Lucy is friendly, flirty, unafraid to take risks, and always real. In her family she is known as the wild child only because she refuses to let others construct rules for her to live by. She likes to party and live it up whenever she can but she knows when its time to buckle down and get serious too. Like her brother, once her friendship is given she is loyal and trustworthy, and even quite protective. All in all, Lucy just likes to have fun and do things her own way, in her own time. |
A Little Deeper
Lucy always thought her life would be anything but ordinary. In fact, from an early age she became determined that ordinary would never be used in conjunction with her name. From the beginning her artistic inclinations were obvious. From the drawings she would pin to the fridge, to the sculpted masterpieces she would create out of her food, and even her spur of the moment songs about whatever was passing by. To those who bothered to ask, Lucy would often say that to her, music and color were linked—that one couldn't exist without the other. Or when it did what was present lacked life.
At first Lucy absolutely hated the idea that she was magical, fearing that said magic was responsible for her talents. It had been arranged for her to attend a performing arts academy in the US once she turned 12 but the development of magic derailed those plans and angered her further. She at first refused to go to the JWA, firmly putting her foot down and resisting every attempt to reason with her until she discovered that her music—more specifically her voice since Lucy had a tendency to quit almost every sort of lessons her parents put her in and she could only play the piano with any sort of skill—was indeed linked to her magic (at least her earliest demonstrations) though not in the way she previously feared. It still took some convincing, and even some bribing, but Lucy finally agreed to pursue the magical path laid out before her.
Her years at JWA were admittedly fun, learning the ins and outs of magic while still maintaining a hold on her non-magical life. She found great success in memorizing spells, and even performing the minor ones allowed by her training wand, after she began to associate them with music and color. The only thing that tended to get her in trouble was her noticeable lack of appreciation for authority figures. School or not she had a hard time following the directions for the sake of obedience. She knew well enough to be careful with magic—she'd heard enough horror stories—and didn't appreciate the seemingly endless list of rules being thrown at her daily.
This attitude didn't get any better once she was accepted to Hogwarts. In fact it seemed to get worse as she had to abide the rules at all times now since she didn't get to go home. Luckily, Lucy was not the spiteful sort so she did her best to behave... most of the time. The upside to Hogwarts was that she was able to do more with her magic finding a love for charms—there is a certain amount of room for a personal flare that Lucy adores—as well as transfiguration—which requires a certain level of discipline and focus but Lucy has found that her ability to visualize transformations has greatly assisted her and she finds she likes the challenge.
Worst Memor(ies): When she was 12, she became extremely ill and lost her voice for more than a week. Being tricked and used by jerk-face, the boy she'd thought she'd fallen in love with. Finding her brother huddled in the corner of a snake house so terrified he wouldn't move.
Best Memor(ies): Her first solo in choir when she was 10. Going to New York to spend the summer with her cousins when she was 16.
Favorite Animal(s) Koalas – because they are so cute and cuddly yet can be vicious when provoked. Cats (especially big cats) - for their sleek power. Snakes – for their serpentine grace and fluidity.
Favorite Color(s) Lucy has no real favorites, each color has its place/purpose to her but the brighter the better! |
