A Little Deeper
Despite growing up around magical parents, Leila was not allowed to perform magic, no matter how hard she begged, until admittance into the junior academy with the Ministry. Yet her family indulged her desire to learn with books, documentaries, and field trips to prevent her from becoming prone to antics involving trouble. She’s always been interested in learning rather than wasting her time with activities that did not benefit her in some fashion. Her brothers pry her away from books to play with them outside, and she finds it enjoyable despite grumbling occasionally. They, also, often tease her with several pranks, but on a few harsher ones conjure up what her parents like to call the demon inside of her due to her temper. Once her brothers lit her book on fire, Leila screamed bloody murder for the entire neighborhood to hear. She refused to speak with him until he finally got her another one to replace the burnt one. Adare often tease her by saying that if she doesn't pull her nose out of those books and have some fun, she might end up being a bitter old Ravenclaw woman with only cats for friends. Being the youngest girl in the family can be both a blessing and a curse since she can threaten potential bullies with the wrath of her brothers if reasonable discourse does not prevent them from bothering her. If her brothers aren’t around to defend her, Leila usually has something up her sleeve to assist her in troubling matters. Her parents doted on her as a child with most items that she wanted if it was within reason. She’s known for being observant around those unfamiliar to her, but with time Leila gradually begins conversing with those she deems worthy and not an complete idiot. Once analysis of a person is out of the way, she’s known for being clever, silly, and prone to being funny without trying. Often times, she’s willing to share some type of random fact she’s learned from her studies. Her love for books is only overshadowed by a few things in her life. Leila wants to gain her grandmother, from her mother’s side, approval due to her admiration for the old woman. Yet she knows that her chance of gaining approval is limited due to the different viewpoints of her parents and her grandmother. Plus, it didn’t help that when her mother, Janie, did come around the family, her grandmother occasionally slipped up and said something degrading towards wizards without pure blood. Worst Memory: A prank from her brother that went terribly wrong and ended with her getting the faint scar on her leg. |
Family
The Moore family has two robust male sons, Adare and Kody, and an observant young female daughter, Leila, in their brood. Adare is a fifth year HufflePuff while Kody is a third year Gryffindor. Leila’s pure-blood mother, Janie, preferred to live within the human realm rather than houses containing more of her magical peers since she likes the sense of normalcy it provides for her family. Leila’s muggle-born father, Abram, disagreed with his wife about their living arrangements but gave in after weeks of Jaina persuading him with lot of horrible dinners for an entire month. This choice of living space has caused neighbors to give more than one odd glance at an unfamiliar noises coming from their house. Both of the Moore parents attended Hogwarts in their youth since it is where they met each other. Janie excelled in transfiguration while Abram scrapped past to achieve the lowest passing score in most of his classes. The only class he excelled in was potions due to his desire to throw two ingredients together despite the risk of possible explosions. Due to this lack of caution, Leila’s father no longer possesses real eyebrows. Janie Moore is a part of the Mallory family yet her contact with this side of her family is strained due to their disapproval of her marriage choice. They have not disowned her due to wanting to maintain public appearance of tolerance towards those lacking purity in their blood, but she isn’t readily embraced at family gatherings. Abram’s family, on the other hand, is pleased with his choice of wife and their children. Despite these challenges, the Moore family is usually a happy bunch that work together well even though they are sometimes viewed as dysfunctional.
Brother: Kody Moore is the second oldest child of the Moore family. His blood status is half-blood, and he is very aware of not being what his grandparents are necessarily fond of. The black sheep of the family. He is a third year Gryffindor at Hogwarts, and he has plans on becoming a great player of Quidditch if he can only make the team. There are time when he displays a little bit of impatience towards his younger sister, but it is clear that he cares about her since he doesn't allow anyone else to play pranks on her. Mother: Janie Mallory-Moore is a teacher at the Junior Wizarding Academy. She was raised on old beliefs of purebloods being superior to other magical folk. Despite these engrained belief, she couldn’t help falling for her husband during her attendance at Hogwarts. It was a scandal for her family, who began to disown her from the family quietly by not inviting her to various events with the family. It was only through much begging did her mother allow her back into the family. It is still a tension between Janie’s family and her husband. She is a Ravenclaw Alumni from Hogwarts. Father: Abram Moore is an alchemist master who works for the Department of Mysteries. He is very much in love with his job since it allows him to travel about the world on various assignments. His job keeps his preoccupied most of the time, and he only engages his children when they display some type of love for his career. His dislike of the Mallory’s is rooted in deep to the arguments they had with each other during the wedding and many days after his wife agreed to marry him. He doesn’t like the interest Leila’s grandmother has taken in her since he believe the woman is a curse to anyone who lays eyes on her. He is a Hufflepuff Alumni from Hogwarts. Maternal Grandmother: Beth Mallory is a vindictive woman intent on restoring the image of her family name among her peers. She was infuriated when her daughter when off and married that no good for nothing muggle, who didn’t even have enough money to properly find a home for her daughter. Her heart softened a little at the birth of her grandchildren though it hardened once more when she noticed they were infected by Abram’s lack of wit. It was only when her granddaughter was born did she change her attitude a little towards the Moore family. She works for the Misuse of Muggle Artifacts just to ensure that those who love Muggle items are punished for the slightest offence. Her job brings her great pleasure. Maternal Grandfather: Louis Mallory outright refuses to speak to his daughter and the spawns she made with that muggle.
