Physical Description

• Kevin Reiner is not the most appealing of officers. Criminals tend to find the brown-haired, blue-eyed man to be a joke due to his nerdy appeal. He is 6’1” and oddly 210 lbs and tends to wear dress shirts that are too big for him and uniform slacks that are cut a little too short. He wears thick glasses, the old coke bottle glasses that everyone thought were no longer in production, and he carries a very seemingly slender physique.

• Matthew McLeod is quite the opposite of Kevin. He prefers long-sleeved tops: sweaters, buttoned shirts…and pants as opposed to shorts. He is built for the job to put it simply. His eyes are cold, having seen death more than once, and he is quite intimidating, even more so behind a gun.

Persona

First of all, the rule is don’t get Kevin started on comic books, science—anything you think is nerdy—don’t do it. He won’t shut up about it and he’ll talk to you to death about it. He’s gotten a little better about that habit, having been Angel’s partner for a few years now. He’s been threatened with physical harm on a regular basis and so has learned when to keep his mouth. On another note, he likes his partner Angel, and sadly, she may be his only friend in the GCPD. So many officers have been turned off by his personality that they often wonder why the commissioner just won’t get rid of him. Kevin has a good heart and is an excellent shot whether fellow officers wish to believe it or not. He is perhaps the best marksman in the force, which is a reputation that might be keeping him in.

Matthew, on the other hand, is strictly business. He was hired to watch Carmen and that’s what he intends to do until told otherwise by his employer Carmine. As long as he’s getting paid, he’ll carryout the job—supposedly.

Background

• There isn’t much known about Matthew McLeod. Not even the Falcone’s know anything about him, but he was the only one that the police and Batman had no intelligence on. The hired gun and assassin was hired by Carmine Falcone to do one thing, watch his daughter Carmen.

• Kevin, however, comes from a loving family, which is quite obvious by his naïve mannerisms. There isn’t a conversation where he doesn’t mention his mother or “back in the day.” Mention his father…let’s just say you don’t ever want to talk about his father. He joined the GCPD to simply do a service to the city. He is an avid believer in justice and fairness, and this was the one job where he could make a direct difference. Not many officers are a fan of his personality and thus Kevin has been cycled through many partners until the trend ended with Angel. How did such an unlikely pair wind up being long-term partners? Nobody knows and many find it unbelievable. It may just be that Kevin is possibly her first partner who didn’t try to nosedive into her good looks and pants.
