A Little Deeper
Somethings just don't seem to come up when raised on a beach with plenty of sun, surf and scantily clad woman on a beach house in Southern California. The woman you thought to be your mom turns out to be your step-mom and your father is always to busy to ever explain that he impregnated a witch of a woman (literally) seventeen years ago when he was touring England and he does not recall most of it! Iggy knew woman could be total witches but not literally! He became a believer one time he was about to eat it off a tall pier on a dare and the water actually came up and saved his life from smashing into the reef when he was nine years old. Questions began to surface but his father was always on tour or in another city with step-mom our just did not have anything to say (Something he would learn one day was a combination of an Imperio Curse, Oblivate and love potions). Iggy just went with it, weird stuff happened around him, sweet!
It was not until a man in a suit showed up with older looking woman with a stern look in her eyes did he get some answers to his long forgotten questions. His real mother was a British native, from what they called her, she was a "Death Eater" but her pregnancy was kept a secret from her leader out of fear she would be killed and with her, him. How was his father part of this? She had seduced him, did something to his father but eventually released him with a swaddling Iggy in his arms. What about his real mom? She was dead, died in something known as the "Ministry War" (A lie), the guy with greying hair looked at him as if he would swear revenge but it was hard to have feelings for a woman he did not know and doubted had ever even held him. So why all this now? He was a Wizard, the thought alone made him laugh until he noticed how serious they were and even pulled out wands and did something with the bottles of cokes he had offered them. Ignacio "Iggy" Demal was a wizard but the two people visiting were deciding where to send him, Salem or a place called Hogwarts.
Iggy had no preference to either, he was still in partial shock about the news that he could do magic even if he had an idea he was a wizard along. Many things made sense with that explanation and it seemed only logical that he was. A decision was made and he would be going to a school over seas on his eleventh birthday and if he liked it he would be allowed to go to the continuation school at age sixteen. England? Sure why the hell not, not like he couldn't make new friends in another country and his curiosity had been hooked.
On his eleventh birthday he actually managed to get his father's attention long enough to take him in person to LAX where he would be able to say good bye for the semester. Muggle money meant little to the wizarding world so Iggy found it difficult to purchase most things until he learned he had a vault in Gringotts with a decent amount of money in it, more unexpected when he needed more he would find someone was depositing more galleons into it. Unknown to him, his mother was very much alive and keeping an eye on her estranged son, half ashamed of his muggle tendencies and happy to know he had escaped a life of servitude to Voldermort and the punishment that fell them after, at the hands of the Ministry when he died.
Life for Iggy was awesome(In the terms of a elven year old living in a foreign country), he lived in a loft in London with a guardian, one his father hired, and mostly lived on his own. He was not completely irresponsible and rarely had time to do anything once lessons started. He did not like the lack of technology within the school, all his electronics went wonky within the Ministry so only when he was back in the "normal" world was he allowed to use the internet, smartphone and other tech all the other wizards sneered at. During school breaks/holidays he would fly back home and return for the next year with a fresh tan from his time in the sun. By age fifteen he dismissed his guardian and lived on his own, making it easy for him to invite people to his home to throw parties or gatherings. When the last year of the school began, he was more than ready to move on to Hogwarts and looked forward to receiving his invitation to the prestige school he had read so much about!
Before he realized, five years passed and Iggy was more than ready to continue his education at Hogwarts. He felt torn, most of his friends back home asked about what he did but he only told him that he was sent to a private school in England and due to the year round curriculum and occasional holidays he spent in London, he began to lose touch with most of the friends he had since he was a kid. Iggy had simply moved on and considered England his home, his father actually visited him a few times and arranged a tour of Europe with stops in London. By sixteen he was mostly living on his own, his downtown London Loft turning into the perfect place to host parties for anyone who wanted to have a good time.
Worst Memories: When he was dragged by a riptide when he was young and swept several hundred feet into the ocean, swallowed a ton of water after panicking. Also: the thought that his real mother never wanted him.
Best Memories: The time his British bulldog "lugnut" fell into the toilet. (funny). His father spending a full day with him before he moved to London. A hug from a girl he had a crush on back home in California after she did not see him a fully year.
