Appearance
Ian is a tall, lean, very fit male who stands nearly six feet tall. He wears his coal-black hair long and often unruly, and along with his brown eyes and tanned skin he usually has a rather dark complexion. His face is usually covered with five-o'clock shadow – or more, as in his later years he has preferred to shave less than he used to when in med school.
Ian usually dresses decently well, with button-up shirts, dress pants of some kind, and dark colored shoes. He wears a gold watch loosely around his left wrist, and is rarely found far away from his cell phone.
Ian is religious about his exercise, running, weight training, or doing a mix of both six days of the week for an hour or so each day.
Though he is 44 years old, because of his turning he only appears 24. Only recently have co-workers and colleagues began to question 'how he does it', remaining so young-looking when he's actually in his 40's. As time goes on, he knows this will become a bigger problem...
Personality
Ian is a kind, gentle soul. He instantly developed an affinity for animals when he was a young boy, and growing up on a farm he was always around them. He had pets of many varieties, from parakeets to hermit crabs, and ultimately this love for animals propelled him into veterinary science.
But a kind, gentle soul should not be mistaken for a push-over or a submissive mindset. At work, and even in college, he was -very- assertive and proactive, taking charge when necessary. His self-confidence was instilled in him at an early age, and when he made it to college, he realized a lot of his peers did not have the kind of upbringing he did, and as such they simply weren't as 'experienced' as he was in many ways.
That being said, he rarely seeks conflict unless the life of a living creature is at risk. Whether a human child or a kitten, the urge to protect is very strong in Ian, and he can turn from a mild-mannered dude into a forceful, imposing prick if the situation demands it.
Ian enjoys exercising, music, reading, camping, nature, hiking, art, as well as some TV and movies. His favorite 'getaway' activity is to go camping, and bring along his paints, canvas, and easel in order to work his own brand of creativity in his painting. Though he spent many years wasting paint, the past few years have seen his skills in that department improve dramatically.

History
Ian was born north of Boston, MA, in 1969. His parents owned a farm there, which included all manner of livestock. Ian immediately grew to like all the animals as a young child, and would often bring 'additional' animals into the house on random occasions, including but not limited to mice, frogs, snakes, and bugs of various varieties.
When Ian was at the age of six, his dog, an Australian Sheppard named Max, was hit by a car on the road near the farm. The driver didn't even stop, and Ian's father was left to explain what happened to his dog, as well as what was going to happen. Tears flowed like a river, and despite all of his pleas, there was nothing that could be done to save the poor animal.
This incident planted the seed in Ian which, along with his natural affinity for animals, led him to where he is today.
After high school, Ian went to college with the goal of becoming a veterinarian. His own personal experiences helped him excel, and he graduated from college in 1994 and became licensed shortly thereafter.
It was on his celebratory camping trip with his girl-friend that his life would be changed forever. Out hiking a trail in the Appalachians, the couple came across a mountain lion that had cornered a wolf cub. This astounded Ian because he didn't believe wolves roamed the Appalachians anymore. The mountain lion was an adult, and Ian sent his girlfriend back to the camp for safety, and ignored her plea for him to come with her. Once she was safely away, Ian grabbed a big stick and tried to frighten away the mountain lion.
With loud shouts and lots of wild movement, Ian scared off the mountain lion just before it made a snack out of the wolf cub, leaving Ian alone with the cub who stood boldly staring at the human just ten feet away. The cub's boldness reminded Ian of his first dog, and he smiled at the memory. That smile faded slowly as he head a deep, threatening growl from off to his right. Slowly turning his head, Ian saw mama-wolf had returned, and wasn't too pleased with the picture before her.
Ian tried very desperately to move away -slowly-, making no threatening movements – but it was too late. The wolf leaped, Ian fell backward as her teeth sank into his arm, and then his head hit something -hard-... and darkness.
He woke up awhile later with a massive headache. There was no sign of the wolf cub or its mother, but the bite on his forearm, bleeding freely, was proof that it wasn't a dream.
Ian returned to camp and he and his girl-friend departed, seeking medical attention for himself. After several shots and a lot of bandages later, he was released under his own care.
Life returned to normal, until the next full moon...
That was about twenty years ago. Since then, Ian has learned to live with his 'gift', and even learned that there were -others- like him. As he aged, he realized that visibly he wasn't aging -at all-, and this face became more obvious to co-workers and peers as the years went by. In an effort to stop all the speculation and questions, Ian eventually decided to open up his own practice. Recently he ended up moving somewhere small and quiet, the town of Marshboro. He learned of the existence of a 'pack' of those who suffered from the same affliction that he did, and recently he made contact with them.
Ian runs a small one-person veterinarian clinic in Marshboro, called “Claws and Paws”. Though business has been good enough that he's considered expanding and even hiring an employee or two.
