History

Born in Egypt in 500AD, Giselle is so old she does not remember her birth name. At the age of 10 she became the youngest priestess at the last Temple of Set. As Christianity became widespread and her religion was outlawed Giselle began to fear for her life, that was until she was made immortal. At the age of 28, in 528AD, Giselle was turned into a vampire. The fledgling fled Egypt in 530AD as the last temple to Egyptian gods, Philae, was closed. She would continue to move, never staying in one location for long, for the next 170 years.

Around 1105 AD Giselle realized she couldn't outrun the Church forever. Finally settling in England around 1140, she finally starts getting some roots down as the second crusade starts in 1144. Giselle rides out life in England until around 1201AD when she moves to China as Genghis Khan takes over. Drawn to the corruption and chaos he leaves in his wake, Giselle decides to stay in China until Khan's death. Then returning to England in 1230 as The Inquisition begins.

Staying in England for nearly a century Giselle watches as at least 25 million people die from the Black Plague from 1347-1351. Not being affected by the plague she frequently walked the streets taking in the mass panic and chaos. Those traits remaining a very important part of her life, as she still secretly worships Set.

In 1402 she moves to France. Finally changing her name to Giselle Tussaud while in France, she realizes that this is somewhere she might stay for a while. Giselle finds herself utterly surprised with herself when she begins to admire Joan of Arc. Her innocence and unwavering faith draws Giselle to her, though Giselle would not figure out until much later that it was not the want to corrupt Joan, but the want to be more like her. Missing her chance to turn Joan so that she might have a companion, Giselle realizes she may spend the rest of her life alone if she continues down the path she is on. Living in France during it's renaissance Giselle learns many different artistic trades, even learning how to paint from “some guy” named Divinchi.

After nearly two centuries of trying to better herself in France, the chaos and corruption Giselle craves calls her to Hungary in 1590. Countess Elizabeth Bathory kills hundreds of young women bathing in their blood, and Giselle is with her every step of the way. Finally fleeing Hungary when the Countess was arrested in 1610, Giselle decides to return to France, and stays there until 1715 when she ventures to America.

Moving around in America until 1770, Giselle finds a home in Boston for the next 29 years. Witnessing the Boston Massacre and the Boston Tea Party before returning to Egypt in 1799 when the Rosetta Stone is discovered. Giselle stays in Egypt for ten years looking for other relics from her past with no luck before returning to America in 1809. Only staying in Boston for 3 years until the founding of Louisiana before moving there and settling in.

Giselle, realizing Louisiana has more for her then any other place she has been in recent years, establishes a life there. Around 1830 Giselle meets a man named Michael and falls in love. Their love is forbidden however, as he is a slave to a man named Bennet H. Barrow. Finally wanting to atone for her past transgressions Giselle transforms her house into one of the safe houses along the Underground Railroad. Some of the first slaves she helps escape are Michael and other slaves owned by Barrow. Promising she would come find him after everything blows over Giselle said goodbye to Michael, whom she would never see again, as he would die before she is able to find him again. In the 1840s Giselle goes “underground” as she continues to help free slaves for over 10 more years.

In 1860, Giselle is looked down upon in Louisiana and moves north, as she is very outspoken about her wishes for Lincoln to become president. Settling near where the president resides, Giselle finds herself obsessed with the man fighting for the freedom of slaves. Her obsession is short lived though as Lincoln's assassination in 1864 returns her to her predatory mindset. Giselle would spend the next two years trying to destroy the lives of the Lincoln conspirators. Using her beauty and influence Giselle became close with President Johnson. Making sure that the conspirators were tried and convicted, focusing most of her anger on Mary Surratt. Making sure that even though she was granted clemency, President Johnson would never see the papers. Once they had all been tried, Giselle was able to find peace.

As 1870 rolled around Giselle was back on the move, finally making a home for herself in an Indian reservation out in the west for about 20 years. As the new century came closer, Giselle moved to New York in 1892. Living there would prove healthy for her as she would begin to start a better life for herself. One of the most important highlights of her entire life being the witnessing of the “first flight” in 1903 by the Wright Brothers, in which she was able to see a machine fly.

As the Boxer Rebellion started in China, Giselle decides to head back. Having been there when Genghis Khan was in charge, she wanted to witness what this rebellion would hold for the country. Keeping her stay in China short, she moved back to America in 1911 when the Rebellion ended. This time, Giselle decides to pick Chicago as her home.

As the roaring 20’s start up Giselle finds her talents in singing finally pay off. She gets a job in a Prohibition bar as a lounge singer, and stays in Chicago for about 15 years before dropping off the map again.

The next time Giselle started to be seen was in the 60’s. Drug use was becoming relevant, and it reminded her of The Temple of Set. All the chaos and corruption had found a way to creep back in her life. While at Woodstock she fed on her fair share of hippies and enjoying the music. As the disco era began, Giselle started to wonder what was wrong with people, the music and clothes were horrible. Going off the map again, Giselle stayed “underground” throughout most of the 70’s, popping back up in the late 70’s.

Finding the rock and roll life style suited her Giselle found herself touring around with various rock bands and singers as a “groupie.” Her most enjoyable tours being with Billy Idol, Kiss, and Bon Jovi, in which she learned a great deal about herself. In 1985, Giselle sired the only person she's ever turned. A young musician by the name of Eddie St. James. She saw in him a drive and passion that inspired her. As the 80’s came to an end, Giselle returned to Louisiana with Eddie, and she has lived ever since. Hearing that a coven had moved into the area Giselle felt it was time to make herself known to more of her kind for the first time in a very long time. Only time will tell if that was the right decision.
