Appearance

Hair: Sandy brown Eyes: Brown Weight: 176 lbs Height: 6'3” Physical Description: Federico is tall and acceptably well fit and looks slightly older than his true age. Dress wise he tends to go for the comfortable rather than the overly fashionable and there is always the odd little stain on his fingers or his shirt indicates that he is working on something. His main feature are certainly his hands… big and agile with nimble fingers that seem to be always in movement. He always carries some kind of tool with him, be it a set of mini screwdrivers or a monkey wrench to the point that people recognizes his approach from the tingling of the metal in his pockets. He is almost never seen without his wrockpod (he is a metal fan). Other Distinguishing Features: A scar on the back of his left hand, reminder of a blunder during one of his first attempts at tampering with a car engine.

Personality

Stubborn – When Federico does something, he always does it Federico’s way. Especially when mechanics are involved, he tends to follow his own counsel almost always. He is not the kind of person who thinks he is always right… but if and when he thinks is right he never backs off… at times even if this means getting into trouble. Loyal – Make a friend out of him and he will always stand at your side. He had been abandoned by his mother and his father has been forced to go away from italy in order to try and forget.. he has sworn to himself to never be like his mother. He does not give easily away his friendship and/or love but once he does, he stays true to his feelings no matter what. Curious – Nothing attracts Federico more than the unknown. Every time he begins a new experience he is always full of expectation and willing to poke his nose everywhere. This means that at times he ends up not minding his own business… which is not always a healthy thing to do. Patient – Federico has the blood of an artisan in his veins and patience is embedded in his chromosomes. He has to decide that something is worth the work and the wait... but once he does so and is set on it he becomes veritably relentless. No matter how much it takes to repair something or to wait for someone... as long as he is sure of what he is doing, Federico will be there. Inventive – Federico absolutely loves to find new ways to make old things work. He likes to build and tinker and redevise things. He likes mechanics and a nicely complex construct to him has the same attractive of a beautiful girl. He likes engines of all kind and shape although his true passion is clockwork and he likes to devise and build pocket watches in his spare time. Notes: Federico knows how to drive a car although he is not of the legal age to drive. He likes to sketch down little projects and in his pockets are very often found drawings of clockwork and of machinery. He likes to read muggle magazines about cars and watches. He had turned his home’s garage into a little mechanical lab, he likes to buy new “toys” with his savings and he already owns several professional tools. Other than his beloved tinkering, his hobbies are listening to music (heavy metal) and playing muggle basketball (he is very tall so he makes for a good player). He is rather smart and while his tinkering steals away time to his studies, he still manages to come out with more than decent grades. When he is following some kind of difficult project, he tends not to sleep much.

A Little Deeper

Federico has basically grown up motherless since his muggle mother had to leave home and be obliviated when he was three years old. Her name was Paola Bellavia and she and his father, Giovanni Torrinpietra, had a passionate story together when they were both 18. Paola ended up pregnant and so they married and set to live together with their little child Giacomo although things didn’t go well… Paola was a slightly depressed person and the impact with the Wizard World proved too much for her. She tried.. tried a lot to endure the fear that this new world was awakening in her but wherever she went she felt unaccepted and even hated by some. Things got worse with time and even the decision of having another child (who turned out to be another make, whom they called Federico) didn’t help much. Paola fell into post partum depression almost immediately and the two following years became so much hell that eventually a drastic decision had to be taken. Paola and Giovanni divorced and Paola got taken away by the Italian ministry after a careful obliviation session to take away at least the worst memories. Giovanni toughed it on, raising his two sons alone with the help of his brother Davide. There had been no other woman in Giovanni’s life since then, at least permanently, since the experience had left him heartbroken. Eventually, Giovanni decided to leave Italy in order to seek his fortune elsewhere and stay away from bad memories. He managed – together with his brother Davide - to open a restaurant in Diagon Alley, London and signed up Federico to the first year of JWA. The elder son Giacomo was already studying at Beubaxton in the meantime. The four males of the Torrinpietra family have grown up together in more than one way and they always have each other’s back. They all tend to mistrust people and it is rather difficult to be allowed into their confidence… actually it is almost impossible for females. It is not that they are sexist… it is simply that the most important woman in their lives has basically royally messed up. This is the last year of JWA for Federico and this year a great event has already made his life better… his brother Giacomo has been transferred from Beubaxtons to Hogwarts so they will be actually able to stay together when he will enlist there!
