Appearance

Tall, lean, athletic, Dominika takes good care of herself. She tends to let her auburn hair down. Their real color had something closer to a mousy brown shade. She has very little affection for make up, preferring a natural look. She has a particular fashion taste, follows the trends but not always as they are meant to be, putting together colors that would normally not fit, etc.

Personality

Dominika is two sides of a coin into one. On one side, she'll show a caring, warm, mischievous and daring young woman who has very little inhibitions and will push others to widen their boundaries to have fun with them. She has enough love for two, though she tends to be faithful once it is established that the relationship is an exclusive one.

On the other side of a coin, Dominika remains a killer. She can be cold, calculating, scheming. She would see no issues plotting someone's death or taking a life. If she is betrayed, her anger is cold. As long as she's showing emotions, she cares. If she goes quiet, that's when the danger is.

She's not the most mentally stable, constantly fighting between light and dark.

Ability

Empathy - both ways
Empathic manipulation - Manipulates emotions of others

History

Dominika was born in a small village miles away from what is known today as Moscow. The household was extremely poor. She was the sixth child of the family who could not provide for the children already there. In a sacrifice that hoped the child would get a better life, Dominika was given to a catholic orphanage while she was still a toddler. How mistaken those parents were.

Overcrowded, the orphanage could barely provide for its charges. Dominika was provided for until she was able to eat on her own, which also meant that she now had to defend her food so that other stronger kids would not steal it from her. Numerous couples came to adopt a child, but Dominika was never chosen. She was small for her age, thin, almost sickly and pale, which did not brand her as a healthy child even though she was. For the most part.

When her teenage years came about, Dominika had become quite proficient had keeping her own food and perpetuating the tradition of stealing from younger ones. She gained weight and her body changed early on. At the age of sixteen, she was put to work by the orphanage, and some expected her to take the vows. For a while there, Dominika thought that she would. Her body had morphed into one of a woman and during her work in the Sacristi to prepare the mass to come, she was taken by the only adult male to live on the orphanage's grounds. Raped, hurt and completely lost due to the betrayal, Dominika began to withdraw and rebel. How could she serve a god that allows their men to take a woman the way she had been?

One night, after he had forced himself onto her again, she tried to find comfort in the arms of a nun that she trusted. The man denied everything and she was beaten with a cane for lying. That night, she ran away. She walked for days, stealing eggs from farms and a bit of milk for sustenance, heading east and as far away from the orphanage as she could. She found a caravan of gypsies and joined them. The feeling of freedom with them was intoxicating. With her faith in god and religion all but lost, Dominika found something else to fill the void. An older woman took a liking to her and tended to her as she would a daughter. Before long, however, trouble struck again. Another man, enamored of her tried to force her and she maimed him with her blade. Afraid that she would not be believed, Dominika ran away again.

That is when she met with two vampires. Dominika had been on the run for nearly 10 years. They were beautiful women and she found a kindred spirit in them. Her dislike of the church and of its men was fed by theirs and it grew until it almost consumed her hole. It took a year for Dominika to be Sired. She was still a fledgling when Falk joined the trio, and when he left she realized that he was the one man that she could remember who had grown close to her and never tried to bed her. Still to this day, she looked at him as a brother.

Dominika followed her Sire, obedient and learning. The Sire was so well-travelled and a master when it came to what was Dominika's idea of a vampire. She learned English, a Language that seemed far more usual to them than any other. The Crusade and the wars were giving them plenty of food. Dominika, however, grew weary of the slaughter, and soon broke away from her sire and the other woman whom she had come to consider has a sister. Dominika had grown a conscience and suddenly the suffering that she felt through her empathy was getting to her.

On her own, she travelled the world. Her travelling had her meet with Lars, a vampire that was so much older than her, and she lived on a boat with him for a while. He helped her detox, break away from the unhealthy habits that she had inherited from staying with her bloody sire for so long. With him she travelled further east and found the North American continent. This is where her path with Lars split and during this decade where they had travelled together, Dominika experienced her first sexual desire, her first consensual intimacy. Lars had become a lover and he had helped her realize that not all men took what they wanted regardless of who got hurt.

In America, Dominika married for the first time. The man was rich and hopelessly in love with her. He met with an untimely death; attacked and beaten in a side street. Dominika inherited of his fortune and that was how it all started for her. She conquered and married men with money, and found herself being a widow before long. Her friend Lars helping, she made a few investments that made that money double and triple.

She found her way to California at a moment where she could now bear the light of the sun. It still itched, but no longer caused burns or rashes. She took an apartment there, and worked on getting used to her new ability. The doll system was something that she appreciated. Not having to hunt, finding willing donors, it was all made easier and less demanding for the empath.
