Personality

Desmond takes after both his parents in many ways. From his father, he is hard working, family oriented, has a sailor's mouth and matching temper. His mother has taught him to be kind to people, never take life to serious and overall enjoy the simple things in life. Because of that, Desmond tends to live his life, one day at a time, enjoying what he does. Tychus/Spanner (as he prefers to be called) has a habit of making weird faces at people or cussing them out if they piss him off, something his cousins have made a game out of. Most would think his temper is malicious but far from the truth, the apple didn't fall far from the tree. He can be very single minded in things, perhaps the reason most of his relationships have come to an end. He just came seem to give more time to a relationship over his other hobbies. He loves his friends and family but hardly has free time to hand out but honestly tries. Tychus has not been diagnosed with ADD like his cousin, but it would not be over reaching to think he was. He likes to keep his room/work areas neat and tidy and can be rather annoying on how he likes things done (especially when he is working the kitchen at the pub).

A Little Deeper

Tychus remebers the scent of the ocean and the sound of the ships as they leave and return from the bay. The only son Tychus Sr. and Padma loved to follow them around and do what they did. His father always took him on the boat, showing him and the rest of his cousins how to properly fish, run a ship and ive life out at sea. His mother taught him how to cook and bake, while home his dad taught him all he knew about cars. It was a simple happy life. When his cousins turned out to be wizards, Tychus was a little surprised and jealous of their sudden powers but quickly got over it. That was until he was sent a letter to go to JWA also. He was confused, he never once had a moment of "accidental" magic, not that he could recall but as he asked his mom and dad about it, it turned out most of their "accidents" were because of him. He didn't want to move away from home, at least not at first but he went off to London for school and after the first year of traveling back and forth he decided to move in with his grandpa. Grandpa and grandma lived in London, his grandpa running a small but popular pub that was known to hose all the rugby and football games and have great food to boot. During his time at JWA, he took a part time job to earn a little money and learn how to become a line chef and eventually a sous chef. As JWA was coming to an end, Tychus was more interested in going to Culinary school then Hogwarts but he was convinced otherwise by his dad using some old Salt's word of wisdom.

Family

fathers side Father: Desmond Findley, 42 year old muggle Grandfather: Willem Findley Sr, 66 year old muggle. Grandmother: Margery Findley, 65 year old muggle. Uncle: Willem Findley, 48 year old muggle. (wife Kristen -muggle) his kids: Jacob (29), Mitchell (26), Jessica (21), Brian (17) all muggles. Uncle: Harold Findley, 40 year old muggle. (Wife Rosalia Torres, 38 year old witch) his kid : Marianna (16), Halfblood wizard Uncle: Gregory Findley, 41 year old muggle. (Wife Angela Torres, 38 year old witch (Halfblood) his kid: Giovanni (16), halfblood wizard. Uncle: Murray Findley, 33 year old muggle. (wife Sandra -muggle) his kids: Nathan (5), Margery (2), both muggles. His father is one of five brothers, all of them fishermen like generations before them. They are muggles, and the wizard addition to the family is new with the last batch of kids, no one imagined that Tychus would end up a wizard when two of his uncles married witches. This leaves two brothers out of five with muggle kids to take over the family business, perhaps not preferable but acceptable. Some of those, the oldest, run their grandfather's pub in London though, while their grandmother the free spirit steals their grandfather away for cruises and travel when she's not busy gambling or playing bingo.

mothers side Mother: Padma FIndley, Maiden name : Koothrappali, 36 year old muggle Grandfather: Venkatesh Koothrappali, 62 year old, muggle Grandmother: Victoria Stone 60 year old, muggle Uncle: Sanjay Koothrappali, 40 year old, muggle (wife- Ajala, 35, muggle) His kids, Kali - 17, Pia 19, Asha Aunt: Priya Verma, 32 year old, muggle (Husband- Sanjay, 39, muggle) her kids: Rajasesh, 11, Sai, 8 Desmond's mom is the middle child of a half Indian/Half English home. His mother's family still resides mostly in India and are amazed by Tychus and his newly acquired magical powers. His parents try to visit India at least once or twice a year, Tychus has learned he has very little in common with Indian cousins but finds them less annoying then his English cousins. His grandfather is a doctor, his grandmother a school teacher. Both aunt and uncle followed in their grandfather's foot steps and live pretty well off in India.
