Appearance
He's 5'11", with dark brown hair and eyes, and about 200 pounds with muscle that can't be seen easily while he wears his suit.
In draconic form, he is roughly the size of a trailer from nose to tail with his body spread but wings contracted. Azure scales do a near-perfect job of matching the cloudless sky, and golden eyes stare with predatory focus. His forepaws each have an opposable digit, allowing for some degree of manual dexterity.Personality
History
As stories go regarding draconic infancy, Araxis' is not uncommon, though he doesn't know it. His first incursion into dealing with humanity was to attack, barely cat sized at the time but exceptionally capable of waging war with flight, rending talons and the occasional burst of flame. Seeking to end his attacks, the tribe brought him gifts in supplication, from livestock to precious metals and even a few servants. They called him Araxis, the attempt of their primitive tongue to wrap their mammilian lips and tongue around his refined exclamations.
Some say that the reason dragons enjoy precious metals is as a soft but nonflammable bedding. This is true to some degree, but primarily, such is one of the few gifts that doesn't go bad. Servants die, livestock are quickly consumed, but gold well outlasts the paltry lifespan of those who give it.
The lack of societal mores and being worshipped and placated from a young age had the same effect that one might expect: arrogance. Sages and philosophers might speak of such esoteric values as justice and equality, but simple natural law proves that might makes right and the weak exist for supplication. When new humans appeared, their skins a soft pink instead of the reddish-brown, Araxis stepped in to defend his original supplicants until they offered gifts of their own.
Eventually, Araxis learned to take human form, but the original, indiginous people were long gone. These new people had wealth all of their own, but had an interesting game in their way of handling it. One person would hold large amounts of wealth, loaning it out to others in exchange for getting more later, and earning more for those whose wealth he kept while gaining a big chunk for himself. This was quite a novel approach, and he's had hundreds of years to perfect it.
One of the newer and interesting twists of his existence has been learning that humans are not the closest predator to dragons. Other supernatural creatures exist, some of which may even rival his own power. However, he has little interest in testing such power when this land has taught such a remarkable concept as synergy.
Araxis now keeps appraised of many of the methods of wealth investment and distribution, though he still keeps enough gold in his basement to allow him to sleep comfortably even in draconic form. He overcuts other investors by percentages, encouraging people to keep their money under his care, especially those who have centuries ahead of them. After all, everyone knows not to steal money from a dragon.
