Tiara James (b. 1985) is an Investigator but is not a BCPD one like most of the other investigators here. She is instead a private investigator for hire to anyone that needs her help, and does this under the name Alicia Black and/or her alias Carmen. She is a born resident of Burden City.
Biography
Alicia was originally born under the name ‘Tiara James’. While growing up, she had a normal and safe childhood with her beloved single mother in an apartment. She had a good upbringing and nothing too serious happened to her. That was until she was the age of 15, when a serial rapist broke into the apartment one late night. She was too weak to defend herself from the man, and was forced to watch her mother get raped and killed. The man kidnapped her and hid her in an abandoned building for almost a week, using her during this time. When he was through with her, he left her there and set the building on fire in order to kill her.
She was rescued by firefighters but almost lost her leg when a burning beam had fallen on top of her. It is unknown if the man was ever caught for this. These events traumatized her severely, forcing her to go through years of therapy as she was shuffled through one foster home to another since she had no known living relatives to take her. When she was an officially an adult, she legally changed her name to ‘Alicia Black’. She then enrolled in the police academy in order to become a cop. But a psych exam revealed she was bi-polar and could never be an investigator due to this new development. So she instead opened a private investigator services for anyone to come to, using the training she had received during her stint in the academy.
She is still in Burden City to this day, working as a successful private investigator for hire. She has since then culminated many contacts and connections in both the BCPD and in the city’s criminal syndicate and is known to work to her fullest capacity in every single of her cases.
Physical Appearance
Alicia is a beautiful woman with a figure to die for, inheriting her looks from her beloved and departed mother. She can easily pass as a woman at the age of 20. She has short, thick brown hair with a faint red tinge to it, but she wears tracks in her hair when undercover or she's in a investigation. She disguises her dark brown eyes when on a case, using green colored contacts. She is 5 feet and seven inches, weighing at 145 pounds. She has soft brown skin complexion, showing her African-American heritage well. She has a dark patch on her stomach that is the size of a dime and is star-shaped. Her right leg has a large burn scar running from her hip to her ankle due to the incident in her childhood, but she usually hides this well from everyone's view.
Personality
Alicia is an intellectual loner, reluctant to trust other people due to the trauma and issues she went through in her young life. Due to her being bi-polar, her moods often switch from being happy to depressed easily. She works and focuses on the cases with such intensity because of this, not wanting to be reminded of her own problems and instead help others with theirs. Though she wants to help others, she isn't all that eager to make connections with them if they attempt to do so. She is quiet and doesn't like to talk that much but when she speaks, she can be sassy and witty. She is more comfortable with being around cats than people, as evident with her fond and close relationship with her pets named Sheva and Blue. She is a hands on person and is industrious as well since she is independent and strives to provide for herself without the aid of others.
When she puts all her effort into it, results will come soon enough due to her dedication and her inability to quit when she puts herself in a project. She genuinely cares for the well-being of her clients when they give her their cases, especially if she feels like they are innocent and did nothing to deserve any injustice or pain. She especially cares for the children - if children are somehow involved in the case - and wants to help them keep their innocence even in a place like Burden City. This maybe a possible attempt to satisfy her own need to be protected when she was young herself but there was no one to do so. She has a special disgust or contempt to those who ruin and/or destroy the lives of children for whatever reason, and will try to retaliate for them.
Unlike most investigators here, she doesn't really hate the majority of the criminals of Burden City, long as they don't any children of course. Her open mindedness instead allows her to see how experiences can push someone into becoming either a good guy or bad guy. Dedicated and driven, Alicia is a force to be reckoned with thanks to her brains and her ability to think outside the box for her cases.
