Appearance

Hattie can be described as an average redhead at first when stripped down to her basics. Though look closer and that's not all together the case. She tends to keep an paleness to her skin, rather she's well fed or not. The difference in change usually is notable in how healthy or gray looking the skin is. Her eyes almost look like crystals, and can seemingly appear anywhere from gray to bright blue depending on the lighting and what state of mind she's in. Her body is thin, but not without it's curves. With B-cup breasts, she has enough of a chest to notice, but not so much it's distracting. While her hips are there just enough to notice. Though she does have the general appearance of being rather thin and lithe. Not far off, as she only weighs 110lbs, but there is a certain gracefulness to her, dating back to being a young girl in the early 1800s. Her hair can often have the appearance of being somewhat messy, jumbled or unbrushed. Though if one thing is a consistent with her, it's that she's almost never without a hat.

Personality

Hattie is a bit odd no doubt. Her nicknames are quite suitable, she can be described as "As Mad As A Hatter." Though she isn't mean, not really. Just mad. Cheerfully so though, and she can maintain herself just enough to pass as normal in society. But anybody who has had the pleasure (or displeasure) of knowing her, knows she's just not quite all there. She often talks to herself. Has an overly eccentric energy and cheerfulness. Never acts the proper way, and likes hats and tea way too much.

History

Born in 1801 in Great Britain, Alexandra (as she was known then) was the daughter of a Hat Maker and his wife. Her father had one of the finer Hat Shops in London. His wife made many of the pretty decorations for the ladies hats, while he designed and assembled the hats. From the time she was born Alexandra was surrounded by hats and the making of hats, and from the time she could walk and talk, she was taught the all aspects of hats. Though being a girl in that day and time, she had no rights to the business. That would go to her younger brother.

When Alexandra was 16 years of age, a engagement was arranged for her to the son of a banker. Though she did not wish to be wed, much less to him. She did not care for the young man whom was 6 years her senior. She did not like his manners. But more than that, while she had attractions to men, she also had then to women. Alexandra dreamed of kissing her best friend Elizabeth. These feelings confused and disoriented her. Women were suppose to love men and men were suppose to love women. That was how God designed them, no? She kept her feelings to herself, afraid of what others would think.

Her engagement was set to be a year long, as many were in those days. A engagement to a marriage she did not wish. She wanted to stay and work in the hat shop. Her parents told her she could still work in the shop once married. Marriage was in all proper young ladies futures and she and her future husband would learn to get along. They did, to a point. Though still, neither one of them desired the marriage.

It was not long after her marriage that Alexandra became pregnant. This was truly something she could look forward to. But alas, the gift of motherhood would not be hers. Eight months of pregnancy, and she went into labor early. The baby was stillborn, and Alexandra was not in good shape herself. Even though she recovered physically, mentally she was in a place that was darkened and sad. She distracted herself by absorbing her mind into the task of hat making. She became strange during this time,

It was during this time that a strange and beautiful woman came into the shop. Alexandra was enchanted by her. The woman asked why she was so sad. The thought didn't even occur to Alexandra that she had looked sad. She was good at putting on a happy face, so how did the woman know she was sad. As she would come to find out later, the woman was a empathic vampire. But for the moment, Alexandra had been too bewildered to do anything but answer; "my baby died."

Over the weeks she and the woman (whose name she learned was Victoria McGowan) struck up a friendship. Victoria was fun, kind, hypothesizing. Alexandra began to like her in the way she had liked Elizabeth. It wasn't too long before she was offered a chance she could not turn down. Victoria told her what she was, what she could do, "come with me" she had said "we can love as women should love. One day, you can even become like me if you so choose." It was a chance to leave behind the pain and suffering, to be free. She left with Victoria, never to return to her family again.

She became Victoria's Blood Doll. She came to find the vampiress was quite mad, but that was alright, because at this point Alexandra was a bit mad too. Victoria started calling Alexandra "her Little Hatter" or "Hattie" for short in reference to her hat making. The nicknames stuck with Alexandra ever since and were only boasted by the release of the children's book "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland."

For Hattie's 21st birthday, Victoria offered her the gift of immortality, she offered to turn her. Ecstatically, Hattie accepted this wonderful gift, and so began her life anew once more...

Her time as companion and toy was over. Though she still accompanied Victoria to her bed at times. It was different. No longer was she owned. Now she could own. But she had much to learn. Her most curious discovery was her gift, a mental one like Victoria's empathy, but not the same at all. Hattie could enter dreams, she could give people sweet dreams or nightmares of her choosing. She found she flourished as a vampire. She continued to make her hats. Fancy and not, some were quite remarkable. Some were quite plain. She stayed with the coven between London and New Forest, England for the majority of her vampiric life. Though she did often travel with Victoria, a Doll, or another to many places around the world.

She first visited Louisiana in 1964. She had come to the United States because she was curious about the 'hippies' and their brightly colored clothes. She stayed in the US for 6 years until 1970. During her stay, her home base was the Louisiana coven. Though she traveled a lot around the country during that time. After her stay, she returned to England where she remained for the better part of 40+ years, though she still took trips here and there.

Now she is returning to Louisiana with the request of staying. She had fond memories of her previous stay. She wished to become part of the coven and open a Hat Shop in their fronts.
