History
After high school, not being the college type, Alex worked at the local bar. She loved bartending; she could talk to all sorts of people. It was a fairly large town, after all, but the bar had its couple of regulars. After a big anniversary party Alex offered her ex-boyfriend, the football player with whom she had remained an awkward friend, a drive home. She had had only one drink hours ago and was in shape to drive. He definitely wasn’t. Things didn’t go well, however. Distracted by the man’s lack of self-control, her eyes left the road for a few seconds. She left her lane and went face to face with another car.
Alex only had a couple of scratches, but he was unconscious and bleeding. She managed to get out of the car by pushing against her door with all her might. She realized only later that she shouldn’t have been able to, that she would have some explaining to do to the authorities but she couldn't do that. The car’s frame had been twisted in such a way… Wrecked with guilt over the accident, Alex continued her day to day routine more like a robot, until the nightmares began. It obsessed her so much that she finally packed her things and moved away to New York City. She had to move away from the town that had seen her grow up.
It was a nice, but lonely life until she met Vincent. It was an accident, but completely worth it. He was hunting, she was just gone hunting herself and had reverted to her human form. Her skin was covered with blood and he tackled her, scratching her shoulder. She still bears very faint marks on her shoulder as if the years old scars rather than a year old. Even though they were opposites in so many ways, they were also a good match and quickly moved together, away from the big city, in a completely different state.
