Step By Step Guide
Step 1: Choose Your pantheon and divine parent.
This step only applies to Scions
The Pantheons available for play are: Æsir (Norse), Amatsukami (Japanese), Atzlánti (Aztec), Dodekatheon (Greek), Loa (Voodoo), Pesedjet (Egyptian)
Step 2: Traits
This is step applies to both Scions and Humans.
- Attributes: Prioritize your Attributes between Physical, Social, and Mental. Assign points in the following order: (8/6/4). These numbers are static, meaning you cannot take 2 from your 8 and put it in with the 4. For example, a character with their attributes prioritized as Social, Physical, Mental would assign 8 points to Social, 6 to physical, and 4 to mental. Remember that 2 is considered average for a human, while 5 is considered the pinnacle of human excellence. For a human character to rank their character above a 4, they will have to provide a good reason why in their history, and the max for any character at creation is 5. Every attribute starts with 1 point, to which you add the points you're given to spend (IE a character whose Strength should be maxed out would add 4 to the existing 1, bringing their Strength to 5).
- Abilities: Spend 30 points in abilities. At least 6 points must be spent on favored abilities (check your divine parent's favored abilities). All abilities start at 0, and the maximum score in any ability is 5.
Step 3: You have 10 points to spend between Epic Attributes & Purviews.
This step only applies to Scions.
- Epic Attributes & Knacks
- In your sheet, fill in your Epic Attribute (you may chose as many as you like, provided you have the points for them), and how many points you want to spend on it. For every point, you may chose one knack, which is then listed under the attribute.
- Purviews & Boons
- In your sheet, fill in your Purview (you may have as many as you like, but remember you must have enough relics for the purviews you chose. Each relic gives you access to 1 purview and any boons you purchase under that purview). Remember that each Boon must be purchased separately. So a Boon with a 1 next to its name costs 1 point, but a Boon with a 3 next to it costs an additional 3 points. You do not have to buy Boons in order, and every boon you purchase raises your purview level 1 point, regardless of how much the boon cost. IE if you wish to purchase all three Sun Boons, you must spend 6 points, and your Sun purview will reflect a level of 3. Purviews such as mystery and prophecy, which do not have specific boons, will cost the same amount of points as purviews with boons. IE: The first point of prophecy costs 1 point, the second costs 2, and the third costs 3.
Step 4: Birthrights
This step only applies to Scions
By default, all Scions start the game with 2 Relics - Items of great power. These may be weapons, or more mundane seeming items, and it is suggested that the relic in question be something that associates well with a given character. IE: If your character is a private investigator, their relics might be a camera and a laptop, while a character who is physically oriented such as an agency assassin might have a gun and a set of lock picks.
Step 5: Bonus Points
This step applies to both Scions and Humans
Scions get 10 bonus points
Humans get 5 bonus points
Bonus points can be used at the following costs:
Item | Cost |
Attribute | 4 |
Ability | 2 (1 if Favored Ability of divine parent) |
Birthright | 2 |
Willpower | 5 |
Epic Attribute | 4 (2 if Favored Epic Attribute of divine parent) |
Boon | 2x Starting Cost of Boon |
Spell | 2x Starting Cost of Spell |
