Eagle Squad is part of the 403 Mechanized Infantry Unit of the New Republic Forces. When World War 3 came and changed the world's political structures, it took only a few years before a new, stronger government established control over the whole planet. It was the only way to bring back civilization, and many compromises had to be done in the name of security. Personal freedoms were abolished, and the law is final. The New Republic Forces, or NRF, act as the security forces around the world and keep order. They have a very large authority, and very few limits. Abuses are commonplace, and most people fear them. There are rebel groups, but most of them don't last long faced with the superior fire power of the NRF

A squad is a group of 4 to 8 soldiers assigned to a patrol route in a part of the world. Eagle Squad is assigned to Paris, France, the only remaining city other than London in western Europe, home to over 15 million people. Patrolling the streets on foot and with an APC vehicle, the squad has to keep the peace, in any way they see fit. Among the group however, there are varied thoughts as to the best way to do this. Some think repression is for their own good, others just think abusing the weak is fun, while some prefer to be nice with people whenever they can. This is the story of this group of soldiers.

For this RP I need between 4 and 8 people to play soldiers in Eagle Squad. The story will start as the Commander sends us on patrol at the start of the day. Then, we'll patrol the streets, meeting with people, doing house inspections, and so on. You can play your soldier in many different ways. Perhaps you like to impose your way on the population. You may pick a house at random, barge in and do unspeakable things to it's owner. Maybe you prefer the gentle way and try to help children lost in the streets. You can NPC any random person you come across. Since we'll be paroling together, there'll hopefully be a lot of interaction as well. Perhaps you want to have casual sex with a lovely team mate in the back of the APC in the middle of the afternoon, or saw another squad member kick a kid to the ground and want to tell him what you thought of that, altho any violence between NRF members will be punished harshly.

As for the setting itself, we're 15 years after the end of WW3, in 2027 (yes WW3 is in 2012) so the city is modern, but also in a state of decay, and semi-reconstruction. People are poor and generally live in very low conditions. The street is still lined up with broken buildings since the reconstruction effort is obviously focused on rich regions first, altho the streets are starting to look like streets again. I want the RP to be fairly open altho we'll try to stick together and not degenerate into a series of essays dealing with just NPCs. Speaking of NPCs, remember that anyone in the group can interact with NPCs. That means if you describe a kid playing on the sidewalk to which you go give a lollypop to, anyone else can walk over and kick him to the ground.

The only requirement is to post regularly, around once a day would be good. I will play Lieutenant Avira Jones, I need a Sergeant and soldiers.

Avira was born in the Czech Republic from a US Army family, on a military base there. She has always had a desire to join the Army. She was only 13 when the war happened though, and after the NRF were formed, she enlisted soon after. She runs Eagle Squad after having spent 3 years as a soldier and 3 more as a Sergeant.

Stance versus the standing orders:
Avira is a rather ruthless girl. She saw what gangs and random uncontrolled groups of people could do, and she genuinely believes that oppression brings peace, and has no problem being cruel, because to her it's just a necessary evil.


Sexual orientation and limits:
Avira is bi and has no limit at all. She usually dominates others because of her strong dominating personality, altho she'd be open to being dominated, just by curiosity. She also enjoys most toys and kinds of play.

Well typically there's always more female than male characters that sign up but play what gender you wish, just glad that there's some interest in this.

Well I got ideas for both genders. And I think AKtan would be out of her environment in post-apoc Paris (she's more appropriate in my Jungle Setting).

My male idea is an angry Filipino kid who joined the NRF army because he was tired of people picking on him and wanted respect and authority. The kind of person who makes a bad cop/soldier, but is more likely to be attracted to that kind of job.
He considers himself a "Nice guy" but he's got a short temper, and can be a real dick when crossed. Also has a tendency to abuse any authority given to him, and doesn't like it when people don't show him the respect he thinks he deserves.
Surprisingly, despite his uppity, aggresive nature, he has a soft spot of women and children, and can sometimes be a real bootlicker.

Short bio: Thompson is one of the 'Old Hands' of the NRF, a soldier who served before the Third World War in what was once the British Army's Grenadier Guards, with the scars and medals to prove it. A genial bloke, but far from soft, as anyone who served in the Guards Division would tell you.
Stance versus the standing orders: The 'Good cop' to Avira's 'Bad Cop', Sergeant Thompson often acts as the voice of reason for the squad. Most often fights as the support gunner with a 'Jimpy' (General Purpose Machine Gun).
Sexual orientation and limits: On the Heterosexual side of bisexuality; surprisingly vanilla in his choice of sexual practices.

Short Bio: Alejandro was born in the Philippines, but his parents died in the war, and he was sent to live with his uncle in Paris. Alejandro's uncle was an alcoholic, and an anarchist punk who abused Alejandro and took part in the insurgency. When the NRF caught him, Alejandro was "Glad to see the pigs actually getting shit done" and signed up for the JROTC program as a way to rebel against his uncle's rebellion. Although he wanted to become an officer and worked really hard at it, the fact that he was related to a convicted terrorist, combined with his general attitude, made it really hard for him to make any progress.
Eventually he dropped out of ROTC and joined the regular army as a Private First Class.

Stances on the orders, in his own words: "This what a governments supposed to do right? Keep you safe, and kill people who get outa line. People who don't like it are just whiny punks who need ta get shot. I know which way things go round here. Some people still gota learn."

Sexuality: Considers himself straight and mildly homophobic (as all teenage boys are) Pretty normal in his sexual kinks. Probably attracted to authority, and probably has a crush on the Lieutenant.

Shameless plug: I used to serve in the Singapore Armed Forces, and this is my army, bitches! xD

Short bio: Despite the Caucasian-sounding name, Hans is Asian, and nobody knows what his specific ethnicity is outside of those who have seen his files - he hardly talks about himself anyway. He was one of the richer, upper-class college students in the States until the war broke out, and he managed to evade the inevitable draft until the reinforced bunker his family bought and hid in collapsed from one too many bombing runs.

With nothing else to lose, he figured he'd rather bring the fight to the enemy instead of avoiding what he came to see as his duty. He walked into the nearest NRF premises and that was that.

The NRF found out about his halted education and immediately threw him into the Signals Institute for a crash course before the Institute itself was bombed out - some wiseguy trainee tuned into an actual CAS net and called for bunker busters onto his own coords as a gag.

By pure dumb luck, he managed to survive the war and with nothing else for him in civilian life, he re-enlisted when the opportunity came.

Hans likes to travel light, and deploy light, because the Integrated Systems Pack (ISP) he has to lug around as the squad's Signals Operator already weighs him down by quite a bit. All members can speak to each other and to Command on their individual sets, but it's possible only because of the ISP that acts as a relay when they're on foot.

Stance versus the standing orders:

Hans views the gangs with a dispassionate academic's perspective. He pities them, but only because they have degenerated into a subhuman state. Recalling the ideals of his home country that used to cherish 'Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness', he thinks that people have a right to that, too, so long as they are deserving of it. Subhumans are not people.

Sexuality:

Just like how Hans does not talk about himself, neither does he about his sexual preferences. He is straight, and assertive when the situation calls for it: effective radiomen don't ask 'pretty please' when it comes to calling for CAS. On the flipside though, Hans has absolutely no limits when the opportunity shows itself. Bondage, hair-pulling, giving anal, mild strangulation... you name it.

Well, if you're still looking for another female character to balance out the cast a bit, I could try getting my feet wet, as it were. The second thought that came to mind (first thought was a medic, but it wasn't fleshing out very well in my head):

Name: Jendayi Abasi Hondo

Short bio: Egyptian heritage, family moved to Israel two years after her birth. Though very young Jendayi played a role in guerilla movements during the war, eventually rooted out by NRF forces. The ragtag group had a 90% casualty rate. Jendayi, age ten, had four confirmed kills during the final confrontation; recruited into NRF on pain of execution for refusal. Trained to improve already existing skills: marksmanship, reconnaissance, demolition, sabotage. File flagged to put a ceiling on possible promotion due to cause of her enlistment despite efficacy. Put into the field mainly for specific operations in the Middle-East until recently; there isn't much about Hondo's private life that can be considered "on the record." The rumor mill had at one time circulated the story that she wasn't interested in having any less than two guys at a time in her bed but that stopped after the source of said rumor had his leg broken in three places during a training accident. Hondo was quietly pulled for downtime from operations and reassigned to patrol the European theatre shortly thereafter.

Stance versus the standing orders: Hondo is efficient. If sparing non-combatants adds greater risk to completing an objective she will not go out of her way to do so; hostages are not her concern unless she is given orders stating otherwise. However, she is not a sadist: cruelty for its own sake only encourages public resistance, making future missions that much more difficult to complete. Unnecessary violence toward civilians is not only a waste of time, it is an active detriment to reaching future goals and should not be tolerated.
Provides specific support with a long-range scoped rifle, small-scale explosives, familiarity with mechanical equipment, infiltration.

Sexual orientation and limits: Off the record, Hondo is fairly casual regard to sex. She doesn't actively pursue it. Unlikely to consider requests from other women or behavior she doesn't understand as having a sexual element (torture, waste, etc.). Approachable, but not necessarily "easy." Secret turn-on: ...what? Then it wouldn't be a secret! ;p

Stance versus the standing orders: As a rich kid, Suzzi feels detached from the lives of the oppressed. But at the same time she's not a total sociopath. Mostly she doesn't care much about politics of morality and will make decisions based on circumstances.

Sexual orientation and limits: Almost anything! As long as she gets to be on top! Suzzi is a Bisexual hedonist. Willing to try anything except "Shit that hurts, Animals, and Shit coming into or out of my ass." She also doesn't really like submitting, or even being on the bottom.
