The Valley -

Standing in the valley, the sky hanging low,
in a moment it was over, now I'll never know.

The moment that I speak of, is when she went away,
She said she'd always love me, I will never forget that day.

How dare she use that word, was all that filled my mind,
how could she be so cruel, her love was no longer mine.

It was given to another, I should have seen it from the start,
that one day she would leave, tearing my heart apart.

I stood alone for hours, staring at the sky,
unable to find the answer, to the simple question, why?
