Story idea (need input)

Hey everyone ^^.
Anywho let's cut to the chase.
I've been cooking up this story idea and I was gonna go ahead and write the story for it and submitted to... well where I can. Since there are alot of good writers here (and no i'm not being trying to be nice, I browsed some of the works here and holy crapola!) I figured i'd swing the idea your way to see what other people would think. So please give me your input and constructive criticism please

Pretty much here's the jist
It's a twist on the classic 'Romance of the Three Kingdoms' by Luo Guonzhong (if you havent read it, definately do^^... or go to Kongming.net for the foot notes... or play a Dynasty Warriors game, your choice dudes) anywho pretty much it's the same idea. However instead of normal weapons they use Mechs piloted by soldiers so kind of an escaflowne style thing. It's going to start wit hthe Yellow Turban Rebellion and the battle at Hu Lao Gate against Dong Zhuo and of course the battle to bring down the infamous general Lu Bu. Then after that well here's the main storyline i'm adding.
Pretty much there are ancient mechs called Hell Beasts. Each one symbolizing the three kingdoms. Like Hell Dragon (Shu), Hell Phoenix (Wei), Hell Tiger (Wu) and a few other beasts added.

Now here are some rules i'm going to follow when writing.
No fancy shmancy lasers, cannons and crossbows are fine.
In terms of weapons try to make them pretty technical and cool (ex: My idea for Xu Huang is to have two axes which can combine on a pole for a massive axe and for Xiahou Dun to have a whip sword and much much more)
Another thing i'm doing is naime the pilots with their Japanese Pronounciation and using the original names for the mechs.
Example
Ryuubi=Liu Bei
Kan-u=Guan Yu
Moukaku- Meng Huo
Ryofo=Lu Bu

Please give me your input on the idea ^^.
