Heroic Exalted [2nd Edition]

Hey all, I was curious if anyone would wish to play a Heroic Exalted game with me. I'll be primary runner, but I'll need perhaps 2-5 players [Preferably one of each Caste to make a nice Circle.]

I know, I know, my Shadowrun game hasn't started [A lot of players haven't sent me complete sheets. x.x] But anyway, with this new edition of Exalted, I'd like to host a fun, action packed game. Anyone interested?

I'd be interested, but I already dropped out of one Exalted game for lack of a decent character concept.  If inspiration suddenly returns I'll let you know.

Not at all.  Moving has a speed of 0 (and can be done reflexively once per tick), so it doesn't take any ticks to do it and it needn't be part of a flurry.

Jumping and attacking, however, does require a flurry.  Which sucks, because backflips are an important part of any Exalted attack.

Mix between heroic and vanilla, is what I am going at. Something that can be an ongoing campaign with lots of righteous asskickery without breaking the game.

Hmm.

I just realized that I have yet to take a crack at the shiny new improved Solar Hero Style.  Perhaps I ought to play an asskicking Dawn type.  You can never have too much asskicking.

ZK, would you allow boots as a form weapon for Solar Hero?  They're not on the list, and it seems like an odd omission.

Well, it's a style that primarly uses the hand. I'd allow you to use boots as a style for it, IF, you only used the Charm style with your feet. Meaning, you could only use it while wearing boots or anything else you can pick up with your feet.

Actually, I might as well just go unarmed, then I don't have to restrict what body part I'm attacking with.

(Good lord, I did not mean for that sentence to sound so dirty.)

After all, with the new Resistance tree, going unarmored is actually a valid option.  Shall I assume standard character creation rules, ZK?

I'm not in creation method yet, a few people that want to play haven't got their book in the mail yet. But, I could also devise another type of fighting style that mimics Solar Hero but it deals with leg attacks and such. I'm also not done reading the rest of the rules and the changes.

Solar Hero is pretty generic, actually -- after all, it's just the old Brawl tree redone to fit the 2e paradigm.  As written, Charms like Sledgehammer Fist Punch are (like every MA Charm ever, except the Righteous Devil stuff) perfectly usable with kicks, it's just that you can't do it with iron boots or god-kicking boots because those aren't on the form weapons list.

You can use Solar Hero with improvised weapons, though.  And that makes me very happy.

Hm...  i'm looking at a guy right now who I'm calling a Dawn, but has no offensive charms.  (Plenty of defensive.)  And all his charms are from Zenith or Night. 

Oh, and one of my ideas behing the guy is to make him bishi in a scarred and tattooed kind of way and see if he'll suriviive without armor or martial arts charms.

Muse, remember you can take seperate artifacts as seperate Backgrounds.

And honestly, I wouldn't go making a Dawn with Melee 3 and no combat Excellencies or damage-boosters.  Sure, it's damn hard to hurt the guy, but an opponent with a high DV is going to have all day to keep trying.

(I was going to point out that I was already making a Dawn, but if there's one caste it doesn't hurt to have multiples of, it's Dawn.)

It's in Wonders of the Lost Age, everyone's favorite new 2e book.

Celestial Battle Armor is a five-dot artifact that's too awesome to be made out of jade, does not require maintenance (though you do need to slot a Hearthstone to make it so), and is wired for murder.

Although if you plan on rampaging through Nexus, a warstrider would probably be quicker.

Dragon armors are in the book too.  But those suckers require maintenance, because DBs are pathetic losers and the only really great artifact they get to build is Icemind.

It kinda annoyed me that it didn't have the rough artifact creation guidlines like in the 1st edition books, but it's nice overall.
