Players found for second 3.5 Greyhawk game. Thank you!
« on: October 17, 2009, 10:19:31 PM »
Just getting an interest check.

I want to see how many people would be interested in a 3.5 D&D Greyhawk game. I have the creation rules in works and it would be a 1st level 28 point buy system style game. It would be a highly restrictive game in the fact only certain books/classes/prestige classes will be used.

I don't want to steal the glory that CWand has already put out there. Just want to see who would be interested.

Ok cause I'm dumb and forgot to add this.

The games will be module based and I'm only looking for 6 long term players to go from level 1 to 18 and possibly beyond that if the game stays alive. I don't want to have to post up all of the rules just yet until I get people interested.

Post here or PM me!

That's 4 people interested. 2 more spots open. :) I'll be posting creation rules in a bit. Still making sure they make sense.

I would be interested in this.   I would go with a 'Monk' or possibily a 'Sorceror'

Question; seeing the 28 point buy.   An how setting up, is this going to be run like a living greyhawk campaign back in the 3.5.

2nd question;  If it is yes.  Will such things as with the errata.   Where certain presitage classes are not allowed, etc... will this be in effect, down the road.

3rd question;  If not strictly canon.  Will outside sources of material be allowed with selecting class advancements.

Thank you

It will be run like the old living Greyhawk, but with modifications made so it's not 'as' restricting. Creations rules from LGC will be used, but not with as much restrictions on prestige classes, spells and feats. LG Dieties will be used as well as races and subraces.

I'd love to play!  I've been starving for DnD lately, so there's so many characters I'd like to play, but I think I want to be a fighter or a paladin...possibly bard/fighter.

I'm going to have to close this interest check. I have 7 people as of now.

PhantomPistoleer - Sorcerer/Wizard/ or Marshal
Dani - I believe druid
Bayne - Undecided
GrinningHound - fighter/paladin/or bard/fighter.
Asherah - Monk or Sorcerer
senshi32 - Undecided
Kate - Undecided

That is all I am taking. Thank you for the interest! :)

Now what section should we host this game in? Any suggestions from the players?

oO that was fast.

I'd say throw it in Exotic, or NC Exotic.

My vote is for Exotic. I'm not one for non-con scenarios.

That being said, I think we should try to organize the group a little better, as to who is playing what. I would like to see everyone get to play a character they like but would also like to keep the group balanced so that we don't get stumped in story because we don't have a particular field covered. I'm very flexible as to what type of character I'll play and I'm very used to the creation rules she posted so if anyone has any questions about character creation let me know I'll be happy to help. (Fair warning I do work a LOT. So if I'm slow getting back to you I'm sorry but I'll go as fast as I can)

*pout*

I would have liked to play too. Granted I don't know much about the setting, but I would have learned as I go.. That's what I get for being british and sleeping when the world is awake ><

Ah well, hope it ends up an enjoyable campaign :)

I am going to be a sorcerer.  Dani will be playing a druid.  Both our characters are in a loose relationship--  but the sorcerer is omni.  As for party mechanics, I propose that we need a sneak, another devine, a tank and a whatever (probably an adventurer like a ranger if the sneak is not a scout).

I will be generating my character sheet later this afternoon.

I am going to be the 'Monk'.

Can you pass me my scarlet robe please,  just kidding.   :P

Another question and is sorry for being full of questions.  Is all alignments allowed from good to evil, Lawful to chaos?

I figure that as a good question.  A pity that a monk must always be lawful.

I think it would be in Dani's best interest to play a rogue.  We need a rogue, and I am particular to leatherwork.  At any rate, if another was holding out for a rogue, lemme know.  Dani can be something else.
