Excellent! The sheets are in, and may I say, welcome to the game!

I plan to put the game up sometime soon; I'm a little swamped, right now, but I'll get it up rather quickly. What I'd like from the lot of you, in the meantime, is to get to know one another, and discuss a reason for all of you to be traveling together, on the road to Drellin's Ferry, a small river town, just south of the Witchwood. I really don't care how tenuous the reason,just as long as there is one.

Lyra is easy to include. She's very transient, and easy-going. She could have met any of the other characters, and decided to follow along with them on an adventure. She loves to see new places and explore new lands, so she'd happily tag along with everyone else.

As far as Aerynnel goes, she might have sensed something unusual going on in that direction, and she's headed that way to investigate. She says (we're having lunch atm) that it might make the most sense for her to join the group as soon as soon as something bad happens. She stumbles onto the scene, for example.

If that doesn't work (because of the plot), then maybe she's making the trip that way as well, and she just decided that a few days of human companionship might give her some insight into local news.

Well, I dunno Shammie's opinion at the moment, but likely as not our characters are going to be having their carriage going along the road toward Drellin's Ferry.  Don't know for certain, but it makes the most sense.

Well, spoiler, the story opens with an ambush on the road to Drellin's Ferry, about a mile or two from the city. As long as you're all there, and on the same side, at the same time, we're good. I hope. =P

Could always add a point of interest to get us together. Some reason for us all to stop and congregate. Not to be too forward, but what if we happen on a dead body alongside the road. We can be split up into groups, but that would easily get us all together. I mean, who doesn't look when there's an accident? :P

The body doesn't actually have to be important or involved with the plot. Maybe a rider got thrown from his horse and broke his or her neck...or it could be something more devious, like foul play. I'm sure once the ambush happened, we'd stop caring about it.

My character might be of note for having the lower body of a snake and likely looking somewhat out of place along the road, though she's been traveling a while so it's possible she's run into or met with some of you and is traveling  with you already, depending on what the reasons behind all of your journeys are.

What kind of social atmosphere does this module take place in? Would most people see a snake-person or a tailed, part-tiefling in stride, or would they stand out a lot. Would your typical villagers interact with fear, or just serve them without a second thought. Trying to figure out how Lyra would feel about everyone else :P

Well, it's a D&D world. The head of the church in the capital's an Aasimar, elves are fairly frequently seen, giants used to roam the forests north of Drellin's Ferry, and a lich lives in the wastelands to the south. Now, as for the snake-girl, she's going to have an automatic prejudice, as there's a city of Yuan-ti not *that* far away from the setting, just north of the main map of the campaign. Even if she's NOT Yuan-ti, most people are going to know snake-people are bad. Tieflings, too, will have similar prejudices... but, on the other hand, as low-mid level heroes, considering that the party could wipe out the entire village, even the size of Drellin's Ferry, if crossed, people aren't going to be up front confrontational about it.

I imagine Aerynnel is going to be traveling along the road on foot when she meets up with the others. She doesn't come out of the forests much, but there is something on the wind that isn't "right," tiny whispers of impending doom, makes her uneasy (perhaps she's having nightmares, maybe there are stories the animals are telling her) which drives her out of her sanctuary. She's off in search of a reason or some relief. I don't know what would drive her to join the others, but she can be convinced to travel with them if she feels it is necessary, especially if they are going the same way.

A point of interest would be good. The dead body was a nice idea, or signs of a struggle perhaps from a previous ambush? Which puts us all in the right place at the right time for another ambush. ^_^ Aerynnel would of course have to defend herself, and it's possible she would help the others. Nothing like danger to bring people together.

As Myr said, we're traveling together, in a fairly nice coach/carriage, complete with driver.  Just two young tieflings out to see the world(s).  It's entirely possible they could have picked up one or two other 'hangers on' in the last town.

If it's any consolation, while it's a nasty, nasty fight... it's also the only real challenge before you get a chance to rest.

And I'll be plenty frank about the game and spoilers, because two of the players are familiar with the campaign, already, and it's fun to talk about design choices. =P
