Though it had been a few years, 21 year old Gregory Thompson still thought about his parents and sister though he had not seen or spoken to them. Wearing a pair of jeans and a dark shirt, he lay on his bed happy there. Nothing seemed to sound fun or enjoyable anymore, not writing a song, not playing guitar, not anything. Greg closed his eyes realizing his sister would be coming soon. He was glad he had a 2 bedroom apartment and that the other room was empty now that his roommate had moved out after getting married. "This is gonna be awkward..." Greg thought thinking she would be there soon.

Rebecca had been gone for a few years and she had no idea that it had taken such a toll on her brother. She was now in a taxi and a block away from his apartment. A few weeks ago she found him on a chat site and decided to meet again so she could move in. When she got up to the front door she knocked. When there was no answer she turned the knob and heard the soft click revealing the inside of his apartment. "Greg?" She called in walking inside.

He groaned to himself hearing her but decided to stay quiet, hoping she would be smart enough to lock the door and realize that her room was the room with the door open and not decorated. The other medium bedroom had a small bed with sheets and pillows, a dresser and a desk but nothing else.

When she walked in she turned around and locked the door behind her. She always did this when she came into her old house and it was a habit. Was he out? Slowly she walked upstairs noticing the door open so she put her stuff in there and went to search for him. "Greg?" She called out.

Greg bit his lip to not saying anything and glared a little since it had been so peaceful and quiet before she entered. "Damnit the light..." he thought to himself seeing he had left a light on and she could tell from outside his closed door he had it on. Greg wondered if she had noticed and could simply turn it off or just leave it on. He decided on the latter and laid there perfectly still closing his eyes trying to rest.

Where was he? When she turned around she noticed the door closed and a light underneath it. She went out of her new room and walked to the room then opened it. "Greg?" She said smiling and went over to him slowly hoping he was not going to freak out or anything.

He closed his eyes tighter not even wanting to hear her voice, not even wanting to acknowledge she was there. He tried to tell himself it was ok to ignore her but he still felt bad about it. Greg opened his mouth to say hi, hey, hello, anything but nothing came from his lips.

What was going on? Why wasn't he answering her? "Greg it's me Rebecca." She sat on the edge of the bed and gently touched his knee wondering if he was asleep.

His lips closed and he tightened his eyelids. "Mmhm" he grunted barely and turned his head away from her wishing she would just leave him alone and go get settled in her room.

"Greg what's wrong? Where's my hug?" She said remembering whenever she came home he would always give her a hug hello.

He shrugged "Don't feel like it" he said simply not wanting to even look at her and bit his lip sighing softly trying to relax and clear his thoughts.

"You don't feel like it? You always give me hugs. What's wrong?" She asked putting a hand on his knee.
