Sorry, but I just wanted to say that I'm not confident that I'm actually gonna have the bandwidth for a group roleplay. I hope everyone has fun!

Color me interested. I’d have to look at that level of character stuff to find out what I want to play.

Sorry for the delay on finishing, had some unexpected issues at work and then have just been having issues finding a pic I liked

Marie Reynolds

Good luck and have fun with the game. I  keeping  flopping around different concepts and struggling with what kind of effect the war had on them. So I am going to withdraw.

Hello!

lux89

That is gorgeous art, and that is definitely an interesting character build.
I don't think I've seen a druid tiefling before. :o And an entertainer at that.
Now I'm curious to see what you do with it! Looking forward to the sheet ;D

RattledSnake

Do you want the character backstory sent to you like the sheet? Or posted here

Sent to me! But if you'd like, you can post your character's reputation/gossip here for others to view and take in consideration how you all know each other by the time you reach Solace

I thought it was an interesting story in the making too. And that image just had to be written. She kind of screamed that she had epic stories to tell. Hehe

I shall endeavor to not disappoint!

Working on it now!

Everyone's potential characters look great! Here's mine;

Silvyr Sharel; Drakewarden Ranger
At first glance, it can come as a surprise that Silvyr survived the war. The eladrin doesn't seem cut out to be a fighter of any kind. He's awkward and nerdy, with a proclivity for languages and archaeology. He has a PhD in the latter subject, and if you get him started on it, he'll talk for hours.

Most who see him are quick to assume his survival was solely due to his red drake companion, Soliel. Silvyr raised Soliel from an egg, and by the later years of the war, Soliel grew large enough to serve as a mount for Silvyr when needed. On the battlefield, the pair are a formidable force, but at rest, Soliel is valued and treated as a beloved pet. To Silvyr and those close to him, Soliel behaves not unlike a large, affectionate cat.

Those who fought by his side, however, know Silvyr was a skilled fighter in his own right. He's skilled with both the sword and longbow, and he's an excellent marksman. Aside from that, he's also skilled at spotting traps, a skill that saved more than one of his companions throughout the war. He also has (an admittedly limited) grasp on healing magic, which is always handy in a pinch.

Thinking about going with this one.

I remember when the days of sickness washed over the land. Tari was where the illness hit the hardest. Where hope was lost. She works tirelessly for days on end. Trying to soothe those that were in pain. The way she pushed herself day after day. Even making sure the food and water were always safe to eat. There are many that would have died without her. And so many more that past with no pain in their final hours. Thank the gods she was there.

I swear to the gods she brought an elemental, like half the nearby woods and she turned into a bear! And the whole lot of them went rabid on a regiment attacking my village. Needless to say they won and we learned not to anger the wildlife.

Dragon? Giant lizard? OH No t-Rex! We were against the odds. People were falling left and right. We were losing. I was standing next to Tari and this look came across her features. Scary but powerful. And then she changed. Her body twisted and reformed to a fully man eating T-rex. It was amazing, terrifying and inspiring all at the same time. She turned the tides in that battle. Probably the only reason I walked away.

Tari is this cool wind that brushed away ruin and brought hope back to a place. With her magic and her music. She had ways of bringing life back to people’s eyes. I’ve never seen anything like it. The Blooming Minstrel.

I’ve seen her control the elements like child’s play. The center of a very terrifying storm. She stood in the fire and controlled lightning. And became the eerily calm center in the wild storm. Still she stood alone there, I can’t help but wonder…

We were trapped in the burning forests that surround my village. There were so many of us, and we thought we would surely die. When suddenly this massive passageway appeared in one of the largest trees. Tari had run through the flames to get to us and open a passage to safety. Tari held it for as long as she could, forcing to work past her exhaustion to make sure we all made it out alive.

Amazing!! I have chills off my arms xD oooh

Some would say that there was some kind of valuable prize at the end of this journey. That there was some great motivation or cause to fight for. There's no amount of money, power or alturisim that could give me motivation. Stripped of my life by a friend I thought I could trust with my life, I was held in a pocket dimension for what felt like but a month or so.

In reality I had lost a literal lifetime. Loves lost, families became strangers, and everything I knew was eroded by the annals of history. All that I had cherished was gone. Lost to either the threads of time or more likely the whims of an ambitious madman that was given too much power. I don't know by what miracle or curse kept me from despair but my mind never felt such clarity. That dawning horror...

What kind of fool would think to side with a primordial hydra much less be mad enough to think they could steal it's power!? I had to escape my magic imprisonment by means of a tedious ritual..

I did get out with naught but my life and but a spellbook and a motivation. There is no vengeance to be had, no nobility in this task and no power to be granted. All I sought is to set things right and find some measure of redemption for my foolishness.

Nine years... nine years of his ambition.

I would claw my way back, and face my nemesis as he was on the verge of tearing this new world apart. All for something so fickle as power, money and domination. With all the destruction of culture, history, life he had wrought, I knew it would never end for him. I fought with every fiber of my mind and archaic knowledge against him and those who sided with him.

His plans halted with words of power and a vast understanding of the weave to end his ambition and the hydra itself. At the end as we head for this demiplane... all I can think is...

What do I do now?

Are there still openings for this game? I've got a big ol' D&D itch to scratch and a long backlog of untested characters.

lux89

Seshat

Do you still have openings? I am thinking of a Monk (gotta love still geing deadly when stark naked) with probably a little dip ...

What is the general plan though, will the PCs act mostly independent of each other, or soon form a closely cooperating group to investigate the disappearances?

lux89

Yes, you can also join us @Seshat !

And yes, it can be either sandbox (more leisure) or GM-led pace (more leveling up)!

So you have not decided yet? :)

lux89

I decided on both already, either one is an option that's offered for people with varying schedules.
GM-let plot and sandbox have both begun. It's a matter of which one you are interested in! @Seshat

If there's still room, I'd be happy to join and know another writer with a fair amount of D&D experience I can invite.
