"We live in shadows
We live where darkness hides
We'll go where no one goes
We won't give up this fight"
~ Ruelle, This Is The Hunt

Hello fellow Elliquiyan. Firstly, thank you for taking the time to click on my humble thread. I appreciate it.

This request thread is a search for a partner to play a female character against my special snowflake OC Donut Steel Shadowhunters. I discovered Cassandra Clare's works through the television series Shadowhunters: The Mortal Instruments, and I enjoyed that a great deal, and recently I completed reading the six 'City of' novels that compromise the Mortal Instruments books. I enjoyed those as well. I hope to find a like-minded writer to craft a story within this universe. I am also amenable to writing something with an interested writer with similar elements: an urban fantasy/paranormal romance story about a demon hunter and someone else, complete with action, angst, and attraction!

The plot idea that I have centers around a Warlock surfacing who is much more powerful than is normal. As the plot unfolds, it is revealed that this warlock is the son of Lucifer, and his aim is to unite the warlocks under his rule, put an end to the Shadowhunters, and seize the world for himself.

The game would be set in 2023. I do not have my heart set on any particular city, but perhaps an Institute in Vancouver, Canada. Somewhere near water would be ideal. We could use New York, even, and contrive some reason why canons do not get involved and solve everything. I would also lean towards the Clave reunited and somewhat reformed for the better by the point in time, and the Accords yet in place, with some of the more draconian points of the Cold Peace repealed and efforts being made to reconcile with the Fair Folk.

Interwoven with all of this, I also with a romance between one of my characters and that of my writing partner. I am open to the idea of my special snowflakes being part of a throuple, too. I do want to make things messy and angsty, with some drama along the way before getting to the sweet parts. Some conflict - external, internal, or both - helps make it more interesting. We can discuss how things might go and how events might put obstacles in the way of our characters' hearts.

As far as what I would like to write against, a vampire, warlock, or Shadowhunter are all great. I am less enthused about a werewolf but I could be sold on such a character.

My special snowflake OC Donut Steels
I am going to use this space to ramble about my special snowflake OC Donut Steel Shadowhunters. They are bonded parabatai, with everything that bond entails.

Torstein Brightshield is a tall, blond Shadowhunter with a muscular build. He retains the form that favours swiftness of movement that is characteristic of Shadowhunters, but he lacks the savage economy of the wolf and has the full-bodied killing strength of the tiger about him. He has pale blue eyes, a fair complexion, and his hair is short and spiky. He is 21 years old, and attended the re-opened Academy. Like many Shadowhunters of his generation, his childhood was marked with the tragedy of the Mortal War and the Dark War. Torstein lost family in both, and the Brightshield family once again teeters on the brink of extinction. But it has been there before, and Torstein is not terribly personally concerned about the continuation of his bloodline.

Of the two, Torstein is more affable and approachable, although he is given to melancholy. His love is patient, his love is kind, and it keeps no record of wrong.

His family, the Brightshields, is an old Shadowhunter family whose history is writ with last stands, Pyrrhic victories - all of them unsung and unremarked. The family has a reputation for being unlucky, and the deeds of the family are unknown and not celebrated by the Clave at large. But acclaim does not motivate the Brightshields. The means of the Brightshields are humble, and they never took spoils. The family resides in a three story house for many generations that has been cared for as well as they might, but it shows its age and much-repaired state. They have in the past been exceptionally fair and even-handed in carrying out the Law, and treated Downworlders better than most of the Shadowhunters. The motto of the Brightshields is: 'For those we cherish, we die gladly.'

Torstein carries the Brightshield family sword, Lambent. Apocryphal family lore states that the weapon was given to their ancestor more than 500 years ago by angel. This angel delivered the weapon at the behest of a Brightshield of another world, one where the Shadowhunters succeeded in defeating all demons and had no further use of their arms. It was the wish of this Brightshield that his sword being given over to a Brightshield who might have need of it, and the angel complied.

Lambent is a bastard sword constructed of gold and golden adamas. The hilt is wound with golden thread, and little art is lavished upon it despite the ostentatiousness of its construction. It bears runes of strength and resilience, and never has it dulled in centuries of use. The blade contains within it seven sparks of Heavenly Fire, and its edge is as mortal to demons as a Seraph Blade. When drawn, the sword emits sunlight that affects vampires as direct sunlight.

Dima Grimstone is a towering, musclebound Shadowhunter. Like his parabatai, he is 21 years old. Unlike his parabatai, who is built with the killing grace of the tiger, Dima's build is - oddly for a Shadowhunter - the heavy-boned and heavy-thewed fullness of the bear. His black hair is wavy and often hangs low over his grey eyes. His skin is tanned, and bears many scars from injuries survived unrepaired by runes.

He is more stoic than his parabatai, and is given to sullen and morose moods. His loyalty is absolute, unflinching, and unyielding.

The Grimstones have a fell reputation. They are known as particularly violent and brutal, blunt objects to be directed at anything the Clave wishes destroyed. Despite their reputation for ultraviolence, the Grimstones never partook of spoils and remain a family of some humble means. In the past the family was gifted with a fortress-manor in the countryside, built at the Blackthorns' expense, in recompense for a service a Grimstone rendered. The Grimstones do not send their children to the Academy, and instead each generation experiences a particularly rigorous, Spartan regimen honed and refined by the family for generations. The results is that the Grimstones are particularly resilient and inured to pain, their minds and bodies like mighty fortresses, able to withstand great hurt. They are seen as particularly backwards, even by more conservative Shadowhunter families. Their loyalty and obedience, however, are spotless. Dima's grandfather and great-uncle notably killed their own parabatai during the Uprising with their own hands. The motto of the Grimstones is: 'The eyes of love are blind.'

The Grimstones have a special rune that only their family use safely. Apocryphally, it was given to the first Grimstone to become a Shadowhunter by the angel Dolor'El. It is the first rune all Grimstones receive. The family is also noted to have a special affinity with the Agony rune - self-inflicting it as a form of flagellation.

Torstein and Dima favour heavy gear, complete with electrum bracers and greaves. The pair add pauldrons to their gear, also of electrum, with the same runes of strength and protections typical of standard bracers and greaves.

As far as erotic content goes, I would place this in the Light section. Maybe Bondage if a prospective writing partner desired. But the erotic content this story might include would be consensual, and a result of organic story progression. I would like erotic content to come as part of story progression.

If you made it this, far thank you! Please shoot me a PM if interested, and we can work things out!
Thank you, fellow Elliquiyan, and have a wonderful day.
