Looking for a Defiant GM

Okay, so...the Apocalypse happened. Is happening, actually. if you get outside the city limits it's all going down right now. Which, frankly, is kind of a bummer and, as you might imagine, not everyone caught up in this agrees with the whole (hand wave) ineffable plan or whatever. So we quit. Dropped out. Angels who got a heady rush from being physically incarnated? Yeah. Infernals who decided that the game wasn't worth the candle? Got a few. Leviathans who have appetites other than destruction? You bet. And also the Daeva, the demigods, who have a stake in Humanity not being wiped out in the process.

The bad news is that we have to keep our haven properly shielded, which means a lot of work.

The good news is that the best way to keep the shields up and at full strength is to party and revel and...well, let's just say it's a really fun time.

Defiant is an urban fantasy game about blue-blooded supernatural creatures with vibrant and active social and political lives. Plenty of soap opera! And while there's a system in here somewhere, it's pretty narrative-friendly. Schemes and scams, parties and plots, and of course the occasional awkwardness of having to follow some really weird rules because your overboss is in a mood.

To quote the intro:

"Welcome to the world of ruthless politics, demons from hell, extravagant parties, supernatural powers, apocalyptic cults, royal marriages, modern-day cities, blood feuds, reborn gods, aristocratic privilege, fallen angels, personal Courts, and dragons."

Some time ago I had a possible mutual one-on-one game setting up with someone (they were going to GM an one-player game with me, and I was going to reciprocate) but it fell through. Hoping to find someone to share this with so I can get that concept back into play.

There is a free 'quickstart' version available at drivethru (Defiant Awakening), or one can pick up the full version for about $20 bucks. (And for those who want a hardcopy, the designers' webstore will hopefully be open soon--they are waiting until the print run for the Kickstarter is delivered before they go live, and there have been some delays with shipping because of course there have been). And of course, I'm quite willing to share the play aids.

ETA as noted below: I am quite happy to switch GM duties and run a one-on-one for anyone interested! Not gonna make my partner do all the heavy lifting...not that there is much of that for the GM in Defiant.

And just so you know who I'm bringing to the table here...

Lady Sabriana Joy--an Infernal socialite.  She is a raven-haired beauty who prefers quasi-Victorian and Edwardian garb and keeps her long hair in a long braid that hangs down to her lower back. Her scars are striking and resemble tribal pattern tattoos, adding to her allure rather than detracting from it. She is rarely found without a custom deck of tarot cards somewhere about her person and will often conduct a reading while conversing business. Her general demeanor is friendly, almost disarming.

Her wife, Lady Consort Kasiya Sekh, is not at all happy to be the secondary member of their marriage-by-fiat, but holds true to her vow of fealty--the Princepsa is watching, after all. The same compromise that married the two also granted Sabriana control of the Stone Front Wine Cellars as a holding and the other claimants to the property as her courtiers. This keeps things lively, as you might imagine.

Two quick updates:

First, I am perfectly willing to swap GM duties and run a one-on-one for anyone interested. Certainly not asking anyone to all the heavy lifting by themselves!

Second, not only is the webstore now up and running, they are working on some digital tools to make this game easier to run. More to come!
