So here's my idea:

In this setting, dragons have their own lands hidden away from humanity. They share this land with other intelligent non-humanoids.

Some humans find their way into this strange place through some means.

Should this be a modern fantasy setting? Or a regular fantasy/historical setting?

Should the dragons have the ability to assume human forms? (it will be optional/it is a peculiar spell only some dragons have learned)

If we go a modern fantasy route, it will just be humans hanging around the place and possibly trying to find a way home, all the while avoiding dangers and sticking to friendlier dragons who are more willing to cover for and hide them. If we go a regular fantasy route, it could possibly involve a plot where a King's Order wants to slay the last of the dragons to get rid of dragon problems as a whole.

I like dragons. So I want to keep an eye on this.

Since there are other intelligent non-humanoids, does that mean we can play any race? Not just dragons or humans?

I personally would like to see this as modern fantasy, but it would be good as regular fantasy too.

I think it would be nice if the dragons can take a human/humanoid form. Assuming players can play dragons, it would be inconvenient if a huge dragon size of a small castle can't have a smaller form.

Would this be a sandbox rp or would there be some storyline for the players to follow?

These are just my thoughts, and it would be interesting to see what others might think : )

Just to keep the focus, I'm thinking that it should be just dragons and humans. I can allow other creatures as long as there is some type of justification that they have some means of becoming a dragon (i.e. a koi carp according to certain legends; a snake who is destined to grow into a true dragon)

If I allow someone to play a Phoenix or Gryphon or something it'll probably just be one.

I'll consider my choices then.

That's a valid point. Size constraints.

I'd say there's an inbetween that's mostly the latter? Though characters are allowed to just wander away from the main plot.

Greetings! I'll plant my flag of interest here. I like fantasy, I like dragons, so what there is not to like.

As about the questions, I kinda rushed myself in the first posting:

-I would say modern fantasy. I quite like the idea of people suffering of a culture shock and having to adapt to their new circumstances.

-Dragons with human forms should be, in my opinion, ideal, for the same reason Kissa described. Either that, or dragons having the ability to shrink the size they need, but that wouldn't be that interesting imho.

Looks like 'modern fantasy' & 'dragons assume human forms' are taking the lead, for good reasons too.

How would your character get here and get lost here? Plane crash? Explorer crew? Shipwreck?

I'm thinking about allowing all these explanations for characters as long as it's one plane, one ship and one exploration crew.

Alright, my very limited audience.

Here it is. Simple to start.

OK, yep. I think this could be fun.

By the way, the link at the end of the OOC post (to your other ideas) is broken. Give it a click, and you’ll probably see what you need to delete.

My signature?

BlueOrange

Err, yes, actually. I didn’t see it in this thread last night, but I see it today. Tired brain was tired!

Senator

I should probably change that. That was like 2 years ago and knowing E, it probably isn't even on Page 5 yet.

Do make sure you click on your signature so you can see what I’m talking about.

Oh yeah, it was a broken link. Now the link is not broken.
