The Hellhound of Mons (M for F, demon, WW1)

Happy Halloween Everyone

So I happened to be wasting time over on YouTube when I stumbled over a video about The Hellhound of Mons and it gave me a rather interesting idea.

The hellish battlefields of the Western Front during The Great War, the ground soaked with blood, the air choked with gas and the deaths of hundreds of thousands, created the perfect place on Earth for demonic incursions. Most common were the Hellhounds, great black canines with glowing eyes, feasting on the dead and tearing into the living, when they caught them out of the trenches. A single one able to hunt down and rip apart whole squads of men, no matter which uniform they wore.

In the waning days of the war, the demons could tell things were coming to a close and became more daring and frantic to feed, before their connection to the world of the living was closed. Into this enters a soldier, be he British, Canadian or American, either on patrol, advancing to make a riad or as part of a night time attack and he encounters such a Hellhound between the lines.

Lost in a private battle, removed from the rest of the war, he manages to best the beast. Through Skill, luck or even faith, he sends the creature back to Hell where it belongs, or so he thought. Badly injured, he is left on the battlefield until he is found and carried back behind the lines to a hospital. As he recovers, the war ends and once he is fit, he is sent home. However ever since his defeat of the Hellhound, his dreams have been haunted by glowing red eyes and an otherworldly howl, snapping jaws and rage filled snarls.

Upon getting home, he begins to drink, hoping to drown out the dreams, until one night, he wakes in the dark, to see a pair of glowing red eyes in his bedroom. The Hellhound has returned but they have taken one a new form, humanoid and reveals themselves to be a she-demon. He thinks his life is over, the beast is back for revenge. However, it would seem such is not the case and his beating her on the battlefield did not banish her as he thought it did but instead bound her to him. It took her time to regain her strength and now she was ready to fulfil her duties to him.
