How can I align two images side by side?

It may be a newbie question, but I've looked everywhere in the help section and couldn't find the answer.

How can I make two images to show side by side instead of them being stacked one over another?

Hi there:

The code you will use to align two images side by side will look like this:

You can also put a space between them like this:

(The padding goes all the way around, so put half of the 'desired gap' on each image to make them stay vertically aligned.  Otherwise, they stair-step.)

Spaces also work between the image tags, in case you want a gap without having to worry about vertical padding or anything. Depending on what you're doing, both methods could come in handy.
