Mister Ugly

The Librarian.
I bet ya are wondering about this [unless you are a fan of the movies and series like I am]. Well let me help explain the concept.

Thousands of years ago wild magic was everyone mainly surging along lines that were call 'Ley Lines'. Where these Ley Lines meant were places in intense magic. There were a tiny fraction of humans that could make use of magic naturally and became the various gods. a few others could control it and became the legendary wizards and sorcerers.

What humans did discover that using rituals or a few times just will alone magic could be bond into something. Weapons, armor items of war were at the start very common. Later many items, known as artifacts were enchanted and powered.

A group of humans and 'gods' saw the need to protect knowledge as well as a place to store dangerous artifacts. The Great Library of Alexandria sat on a nexus of ten leylines. They used this and created what became known as 'The Library'.

The Library sets in it's own pocket dimension. Linked to our world at several points. Many have heard of the Library over the years. It is where rare books are found, 1st editions often the very first copy of a book. It also is where artifacts are stored gathered by 'The Librarian'.

By the time our story starts magic has almost vanished from the world. Less then a dozen hidden nexus remain. Technology and the draining of magic and building of cities has cut and destroyed most ley lines.

The last Librarian has been killed and a new one is being recruited.

The setting for this is not the normal Librarian setting.

It is August 1940, Geneva Switzerland. Most of Europe has fallen to the German Reich. Asia is a blaze with the Imperial Japanese fighting various Chinese warlords. Things are in flux and your character finds a white envelope of the best paper with her name on it.

Opening the envelop reveals a blank card on which suddenily and amazingly gold writing appears. Along with a weird border on the edge of the card.

. You are cordially invited to interview for a prestigious position at the Geneva Public Library
August 21, 9am .
