Hi friends! This is an interest check of a previous game I used to have! I’ve changed some things from the last iterations, and will have more details about it within the next few days of course! Please let me know if the idea sounds interesting!!

————

In the wake of a pitch black night came a light in the sky, shooting far off in the distance. It’s glow gave off a warmth and power that was unbeknownst to those that watched, and as it fell, curiosity only grew to where it’s whereabouts would be found. As the light faded, the object thought to be lost, was eventually discovered by that of a young woman by the name of Aranea. A poor woman, suffering from a life of hardships, found herself drawn to the location of the falling star, it’s glow and aura calling to her, like an enchanting voice echoing throughout her mind. The falling stars’ remnants had all but faded on its entrance, and what lay left was a gem, it's shine hauntingly beautiful. Desperate, and unnerved by its discovery, Aranea took the jewel in hopes of selling it, but soon found it to be more than it appeared. Like a crackle of lightning, the jewel held a power that was far greater then what others possessed in their world. While magic was restricted to pure incantations by that of scrolls and spoken word, the gem gave whoever wielded it a power molded in their image, without the use of paper or memorized spells.

The jewel was hidden, kept safe as Aranea pretended naught of knowing its existence, all while watching as the world around her became more dangerous, and even more advanced. Stones became walls, walls became castles, and castles soon became fortresses for battle. It wasn’t until much later in Aranea's life, having found a home and a husband, that she knew the jewels true purpose was to help the world. The jewel became her weapon, but rather then kill, she used it to stop the fighting, to bring an end to conflict that had been plaguing the land she had survived within for years.

After years passed, the fighting had stopped, but Aranea only found herself weakening by the jewels use. Her time with them was wearing thin, and before she knew it, her passing came, and with it, the jewel's disappearance.

~~~~~
Story
The stories of Aranea's sacrifice, of the mythical jewel of legend had become just that, a legend. Fantastical stories and word of mouth brought the reality of the past to that of fantasy, a bedtime story. However, Aranea's bravery inspired something within those of the world to take arms, and to become a part of something much greater. To become protectors, to become warriors to keep those safe, those that couldn’t protect themselves.
However, what were to happen if the legend of the jewel became less than that, a legend. What if others begin to take the tale seriously, and wanted to discover it, for their own purpose...
Folklore
The Story of Dawn and Dismay
Once upon a time, in a realm unseen by all, there was a small jewel. Shining within the vast emptiness, it broke, and then, suddenly, took shape.
Two beings were born from that day; White, and Black.
“You are now the first of my creations”, said a voice from beyond, “and you will now help me create something special.” Simply titled, “Deus”, his instructions began, and the two's work did, as well.
White helped on the creation of the Sun, and what came with it. Growth, nature, rebirth.
Black took control of the Moon, and all that came with it. Darkness, storms, disruption.
One rule was given to the two, as they began their time together; do not stray too far from their home, for the vast void around them could swallow them whole.
With conviction, the two partners worked, but conversed among themselves; who else did they have, but one another. White, simple and hopeful of the creation they were bringing to life, while also affectionate to Black and his musings. Black, affirmed of his role and confidant, yet softly teasing and fond of his other half. The two found a bond with one another, one that felt close, closer than anything that could ever be.
However, after many cycles of the sun and moon, Black began to ponder, calling to Deus one night,  by himself.
We create grand things, yet why do I still feel incomplete?
When the world has been completed, where shall White and I go?
Why can we not enter the world below, as you can?
The questions he sought answers to were given answers; answers, that Black did not like.
Your job is not yet complete, which is why you feel so.
You shall be given a new purpose, as time allows.
The world below is that of wonder, yet of danger.
If it was so dangerous, why have us create in your image as you request? Black's mind echoed these thoughts, unrelenting in their torment.
Black, soon after, found himself busy with a new task; a creation so interesting that neither he nor White could ignore it. Beings made of bone and flesh, that greatly differed that of the animals they had seen.
Humans, as Deus had named them, became the entire focus of their work. White watched their musing in the days, wondering the world, the forests, the mountains. Black simply watched the darkness of night, as humans did very little during his time.
He soon found White all too fascinated with the new creations that Deus had brought upon their new world, and a new question formed in his mind; one, worriedly, born from jealousy.
Why were looks of affection sent to that of mere animals?
What made humans so special?
If humans were Deus's most treasured creation, where did that leave himself and White?
Black pondered of these questions, these moments in time that stick out to him. His time with White was one he always treasured, yet her attention lay on the little creatures below them. Merely insects, insignificant little things that did not deserve stolen glances and soft affection. In his musings, Black hadn't even noticed he had begun venturing off within the void.
Like a beacon, it called to him, softly; a sweet lullaby within his ear.
In the vast plane, far from White, from home, drifted a jewel.
While its shine still glowed softly, it was dulled. A dark mist surrounded the object, floating in the emptiness within.
Like a siren song, Black continued forth, the jewels dull glow getting brighter with each step. It called to him, echoed to him the promises it held, the answers he sought of his purpose, his meaning. The moment a breath was uttered, it attacked.
Constricting, consuming, binding a force and power that Black had never felt or thought possible. It clawed at his skin,  burned at his lungs, and yet, he felt it. A swell of something within; a power, a force unlike anything he nor White could create. Had Deus been hiding it all this time? Deep within the void, far from their reach, from their gaze?
It was nightfall for humans, and there, Black made a drastic decision.
Humans had been living in such prosperity for so long, that they had never felt the pain of anguish, of hurt, of fear. These feelings bottled up with Black, the anger and hate, the uncertainty of his existence; it would be humanities greatest challenge to overcome.
The mysterious mist that consumed Black flowed from him, wisping like vines, clawing, growing, until the came forth for the realm below. They forced their way through, infecting humanity like a parasite.
Anger, Hatred, Fear, Gluttony, Lust; humanity was forever changed.
In his anger, Black could feel it, the power of something more, something greater. There were more jewels, and more of a brighter and more potent energy.
However, his plan was all but broken, the moment Deus roared like thunder. A cry unlike anything, Black made his move. Rushing back to his home he found his maker, as he let White fall to the realm below, to humanity.
Red clouded Black's vision, and in fury unlike anything, he attacked with purpose, to harm, to kill. Deus had what he sought, the shimmering jewels he could feel from miles away. Pulsing with life, with a newfound power that could let him create a world he wished. A way to keep himself safe, to give White a world she would love and care for.
The fight, however, ended with Black, as the defeated.
Stripped of the power he once held to create, he was banished to the world of humanity.
A world tainted by greed, by lust for power and anger.
A world where two broken creations would wonder for eternity.
The Song of the Heart
Once upon a time, there was a young girl, who was abandoned by her townsfolk. Considered ugly and unwanted, no one gave her even a kind look or hand, and left her to starve in the dirt and mud. Every night she would cry, wondering why her parents had left her alone.
As she slept in a barn off the town’s edge, a song came to her within a dream. A melody so simple, and continued to play, over and over. A voice could be heard echoing to her, ‘You wish for others to see you? Sing the song within your heart, and let your true emotions free’.
The tune was so distinct, so beautiful, she awoke with an idea.
“If I sing this to the townsfolk, surely they will love me.”
The next day, the young girl went to the towns center, and began to sing a melody, one that permeated within the air of the town. One by one, townsfolk gathered to hear the melody, and soon, became enraptured by its tune.
the clouds began to darken, and suddenly a monster appeared from the ground below. So overtaken by her own melody, the young girl continued to sing, and soon, the song was mixed with screams of horror. One by one townsfolk with killed by the beast, and as the monster finished, all that was left was the young girl, a smile on her face.
Why should her song be of hope and love, when her true hearts desire was revenge?
Example Races
Magic
Magic in this world is very scarce and very specialized. While it can be powerful, it only holds connections to that of the basic elements; fire, water, air, and earth. Specialization of magic and abilities are very few and far between, testing and mixing of magicks that at most times, have become fatal. Only those that have fully trained and specialized as a mage, magician, or other magical specialist have the abilities to use magic.
There a few exceptions, such as races of the best tribes, yet their magic pertains to one element only, and to that of their race.
Locations
Lesallum, a Kingdom flourishing from the waters and foliage that surround the city’s outer walls. With their trade of business being textiles and iron for weaponry, the Kingdom has become a beacon for all that wish to find a safe haven, and a home from the dangers of The Wilds. Shops and taverns litter the grounds below, where a staircase watched by Lesallum’s most skilled guards keep watch, opening only by order of the Queen, or if you are lucky enough to have been summoned.
Uruk, the Desert Kingdom. Arrival is days by foot, and hopefully fewer by way of horse, the Kingdom has fallen from grace over the past century. Once a thriving kingdom that held high in strength, might, and honor, now has become a Kingdom run by intimidation, and ruthless might. After the last King, Set, fell after a war between Uruk and a coup against the royal family, the Kingdom now falls into the hands of Set’s son, Osiris. A king that isn’t afraid to show his ruthless side, he leads Uruk with an iron fist, but has shown a more passionate side to restoration of his Kingdom; not just his families name, but for his people. Uruk has had talks of making a pact with Lesallum for some time, but so far, the Kingdoms have made mutual agreements of trust with one another.
The Wilds; a dense forest that is just a few miles from the Kingdom of Lesallum, the mysterious land had almost seemingly popped into existence two centuries ago, with no explanation. As if by magic, The Wilds have been warned by many to be a dark, dangerous place, one that lures you to no return. A fog consumes the woods at all hours, and those who are not skilled enough with a sword or magic are prone to a swift, or drawn out, death. No one knows what truly lurks within The Wilds, but others versed in the magical community have heard of strange magical energy that emits from the trees and fog. Almost like a sirens song, villagers and those alike have become entranced by its near silent call, and as of but a month ago, has taken many into its depths, never to be heard of again...
Wyspmoor; A village set just beyond the borders of The Wilds, the location is home to the Wysp people, townsfolk that have spanned countless generations in the same location. Having been at the border when The Wilds first sprung to life, the town has been known to be shrouded in fog all hours of the day, with small glimpses of sunlight every other one day of the year. The Wyspmoor people have become the guardians of The Wilds, barring people from entry, or only allowing those who are either foolish enough, or have the authority to enter. Within the village is a castle for those in the elite, while the village folk below act as the servants and common folk, causing a discrepancy of class privilege and power. Those that were not born in Wyspmoor are considered Outsiders, and will be highly stigmatized from the mass majority, unless given trust from the people. That however, is near impossible to obtain...
Alexandria
A kingdom that's become a monolith in the wonders of technology, Alexandria works from the hands of the many that wish to create and perfect. While technology is still small, the creation of steam powered machines became the Kingdom's forte, and more so, the birth of steam powered automatons. Used for such purposes of lifting goods, as cleaners, or even as direct servants that have the ability to listen to and obey their creators, automatons have become the next step in humanities evolutionary process. While most of the region beyond have become wary of automatons and their uses, Alexandria basks in its glory of genius, and continues to innovate and create.
Ah, been a while since I saw this! I'll put down my interest for now and get around to trying to come up with an idea to fit the setting. ^^
It’ll be free form RP writing style, but I’ll be taking time to potentially think of small plots to get things going. I plan on this being a small group, so there’s no worry of it dying and whatnot.
We may need villains as I won’t be able to control all of them, so if anyone has ideas, please feel free to post them here, or let your friends know if they may be interested! :D
Interested too. I'm thinking about making a monster hunter fluffy girl... or something like that.
Moon Hound Hati
Putting down my interest, as well. Will have to put on the ol' thinking cap and see if I can come up with an interesting character concept.
Lingerie is like wrapping paper for the best present in the world     the female body.
Potentially interested. Maybe more of an antagonist (or I suppose deterogonist. That term might work better) I dunno, still hashing out what my plan is here
FoxgirlJay
Well, with a couple sword-having ladies and lad, maybe I'll go for some sorta ranger/druid/magical girl sort of things here.
Laughing Hyena
Always missed out on this because it either shut down before it started or it was shut down as I was making a character. Third times the charm.
Revelation
Dropping a line of interest - Nephew is back in school and I'd like to give group games a go again.
