So good to see the roster filling in!

I hope this message is well received as a logical who-knows-who vetting.  Maybe a little office gosip, too.  If I need to wait for am official OOC, please let me know...

Just throwing out there with attention to divisions and pre-merger companies, who would have obvious familiarity.

So, in the spirit of banter...

My character Tonia was a big fan and was tight with Julian Crawford,  the CEO of Buxton & Lott.  She was a direct report.  Now at Marsden, she is not a full director anymore.  She is 'ok' with this, but she missed being the Top Dog even if she was actually the 'co-Top Dog' of Products at B&L.  Bobby Marsden is respected by her, but she misses her former status.  I would think they have met, and it was probably cold and awkward, at least from her perspective.

Being in Products, she would be thrust into the same department as Nadiya and could likely/possibly be her boss.  They have very different drives and ambition.  Could be interesting.

Meeting Jamila seems inevitable, but not in a direct line of chain of command.

Kevin Sparks has been at Marsden for a long time.  I think it is fair to say he and Nadiya are at least familiar with each other. Their work ethic seems on par with one another.  He's been there forever and flies under the management radar. 

Been watching for anyone else of the same departments just for logical connections.  Not ignoring other possible connections, just looking at department relationships, day-to-day interaction stuff.


Feel free to continue the banter or not.  Just conversating for the sake of the fun of group interaction.

Pending the approval of her character sheet, it looks like Nitya and Esme both work in the Health and Public Services Division with Nitya being the more senior in the company structure. However, she is younger than Esme and failed in her education while Esme succeeded; could be an interesting dynamic to play around with.

And as a Marsden girl, she would have some familiarity with the folks from that side of the merger.

For any potentially interested people here is a brief character round-up for the first cohort of Accepted Characters so far:

1 character in the Executive Division
1 character in the Risk Management Division
1 character in the Accounting & Auditing Division
1 character in the Communications, Media & Technology Division
1 character in the Health and Public Services Division
2 characters in HR (1 is accepted but not posted yet)
2 characters in Logistics (IT mainly)
2 characters in the Products Division

With threads created and a handful of characters accepted, will there be a launch event?  I was thinking of starting a post, but wanted to make sure I wasn't ahead of myself.

I'm envisioning some official start, like some "Legal Day 1" or "Saturday, October 1, 2022" (Example only) is the weekend where signage is changed on the date of the legal merger.  Perhaps, for whatever reason, the Monday after is the first day that the Buxton & Lott folks officially report to the Marsden HQ?  That way, there is a common drama element of folks taking their new offices and a point of common reference for starting around.

Just an idea/question and not at all intended to be a shameless bump on the recruitment thread, mentioning that we're super close to launch and it's a ground floor chance to get in on a group.

That's a good idea, I was thinking a team-building corporate event in Prospect Park (Brooklyn) over the weekend (1-2 Oct), some kind of large picnic/BBQ with sporting competitions and other outdoors stuff. It'd be entirely optional too. Central Park would've been ideal but it's illegal to have a BBQ there.

And Kevin could help host, sure; maybe be the DJ since that was a dream of his?

That sounds like a good event! 

Actually for those attending, there might be others that volunteered to "work the event".  If Kevin is involved as a DJ could be fun if that helps in anyway.  I don't want to step on GM toes or announcements, plans.

You're not stepping don't worry lol I always appreciate ideas and input; if you'd want Kevin to be a normal attendee, work the event, be a DJ, anything really, that can happen ~ though Robert Marsden would be the "big host" (ie main face of the event as CEO) if that makes sense.

This makes total sense and that is what I didn't want to get in the way of. 

So, sure, for the record, Kevin is throwing his hat in the ring as DJ.  He has the gear. :)

Also, I believe grilling is allowed at Central Park on the holidays: Memorial Day, 4th of July, and Labor Day. From my understanding, it would only be allowed on those holidays, not on the holiday weekend, for example. Was the game supposed to start in September?

Supposed to start in October, but I think Prospect Park is good, it makes for a different setting

Letting anyone who's potentially interested know that RolePlay has recently started with a corporate picnic event which lasts over the course of a weekend as a get-to-know-your-new-colleagues from the merger.

Currently there is a characters' gender ratio of W 6:5 M, allowing for any type of character to join in if you feel the inspiration.
