PixelatedPixie

Cancelled due to lack of interest.

This is just an interest check for now, I am not certain I'll run it.

Disclaimer
It has been awhile since I played or GMed any Vampire the Masquerade, and I am not sure I have done much of anything with the 20th Anniversary edition, so if you are interested please be aware I will not be perfect in terms of setting, canon world story, or similar.

Summary
If I run it this is intended to be a Vampire the Masquerade 20th Anniversary game focused on a small group of ghouls using the book Ghouls and Revenants.  The books will be required.  It is intended to be high in smut, and players must be comfortable with their characters being involved in non-consensual content.

The idea I have in mind is that a vampire has collected a group of ghouls as prospective candidates for embrace, but intends to test them in various ways first.  They have been gathered together to carry out his wishes, and as such must cooperate, but they also are in competition for being embraced.

I am debating a clan for the vampire, and am open to suggestions, however they would be a very unpleasant character.  I am leaning towards including (to some degree) an enslavement angle, potentially of a sexual nature.  So collars, leashes, costumes, and so on.  The vampire might not engage in sex himself, but would be using them as decoration when they aren't otherwise engaged.

Plot
The plot of the game would focus on various missions the ghouls are sent on, individually and/or as a group, to earn the vampire's favour.  The type would vary and could be sexual (seduce the politician for blackmail material) to combat (kill the upstart who has been annoying him) to most anything else.  The missions could be cooperative (all go do this together) or competitive (the first to do X will be rewarded).  I am open to ideas and suggestions on missions and content.

I very much want to play up the competition/cooperation angle.  So back-biting and betrayal (though I will nix any direct PvP barring exceptional circumstances), but also all being in the same abusive relationship, and needing to work together to accomplish goals.

I would also like to explore the ghoul(s) balancing their former life and their new position as a ghoul.

Characters
I strongly prefer the characters (I don't care what the player is) are women due to my own ons/offs (see my signature).  I might allow a male character or two, but with the understanding the smut would be more limited.  I might also allow a Thin Blood vampire who is beholden to the lower generation vampire (probably due to a blood bond, maybe due to the offer of helping them lower their own generation), but it would be a hard fit so I also might not.

Requirements
If I run this I would be looking for a minimum of one post a week, and preferably more than that.  I hate removing people from games, but will be trying to be harsher in doing so when people repeatedly fail to post.

The game, again if I run it, will include non-consensual smut at a minimum.  That means penetrative sex, involving male NPCs/villains, that happens against your character’s will (up to and including using force to restrain your character).  This mainly applies to the characters that are women.  The smut for male characters would be more limited, and might have them taking more of a dom angle (so being the aggressor in the above scenario).

Rolls will be done with the dicebot here, characters will be stored in a post here and not linked on a third party website.

If Interested
I don't want a character sheet, at the moment I am looking to see if people are interested.  So discussion, suggestions, questions, and at most a rough character concept.  If I run the game I will be accepting, at most, 5 characters and I will not be doing first come first served.

Outcast

This looks interesting. =)

Do you have any inclinations for time period, or for the location(s) in which it might be set?

Are you inclined towards the game being focused on any of the factions - Anarch, Camarilla, Sabbat, some mix of those, or one of the smaller groups or independents?

Would the ghouls all be quite recent creations, or established and trusted servants?

Would the vampire have created them all himself, or might he have acquired any ghouls from other sources (say, a fallen enemy) in order to add some extra Disciplines and options to his pool of resources?

PixelatedPixie

The short answer is that I was debating on all of those things and was hoping for input.   :-[

I've been waffling between a small city, where the vampire they are serving is potentially the only vampire (or at least only one of a couple), and a large city where there is more room for the ghouls to get involved in faction-orientated stuff.

In terms of faction, I was going to keep it somewhat opaque to players and have it come out as we went.  In the sense that they wouldn't necessarily know a ton about the politics.  But I am leaning Sabbat, as I think it may be a better fit, but hadn't written off Camarilla just because I am more familiar with them and I am already a bit rusty on the setting.

I was envisioning the characters as mostly recent creations, as I wasn't picturing the vampire as having ~5 ghouls around at all times and didn't want them too familiar with him.  That said I am open to older servants if a concept can be figured out that works well.

As above I had envisioned it as his own creations, but I am open to stolen ghouls if a concept can be figured out that fits.  There are certainly some interesting options in a ghoul who bargained with the vampire out of fear of losing their immortality, or an independent ghoul who was somehow captured and blood bonded.

I had debated having each of the ghouls be from a different master, but I thought that would hinder the competition I have in mind.

So... in general I am open to discussion/suggestions on any topic, and apologies if the answers aren't all that helpful.  The concept is still a bit unformed which was why I posted it as an interest check instead of a recruitment thread.

Thank you - very helpful responses.

I hadn't even thought of it possibly being a one-vampire city!  Intriguing set-up: it could make even a hint of any other supernatural at all be something really special...  Though in that context, a stolen / bargained-for-immortality ghoul originally created by another vampire would be even more of an outsider.

Hrmmm.  Interesting.

Personally, I'd say that it would make sense to go with the elements in the setting that you're most familiar with, or else are most confident of running as an isolated game detached from all other vampires.  If the characters are to learn about the vampiric world entirely through your NPC(s), then you should be as comfortable as possible in running them.  And it's not as if there aren't options aplenty within the Camarilla (or around its fringes) for domitors to take a 'creative' approach to supervising their retainers.  :)
