PhantomPistoleer

This game has been heavily modified.  The following modifications have occurred:

1.  The game is now a LVL 1 Gestalt game, not a LVL 20 game.
2.  The game takes place shortly after The Phantom Menace, instead of shortly after the Destruction of the Second Death Star.
3.  Force Sensitive users are permitted--but please no Jedis.
4.  The game no longer demands strict class compliance.

Game is located here: https://elliquiy.com/forums/index.php?topic=327058.msg15655447#new

Addendum:  If you want to play, but are afraid of the system, I will help you build a character and I will teach you the system.  It is a D20-based system, like Dungeons and Dragons.

///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away . . .

It is a period of great instability.  The Rebel Alliance dealt the Galactic Empire its greatest defeat at Endor, but it was not a decisive victory.  The Empire still maintains its stranglehold across countless star systems, and Emperor Palpatine's death has galvanized Imperial support.  In order to maintain control, the New Republic must fight on various fronts, but it is besieged by rogue grand moffs and warlords seeking to fill the void left by the Emperor's death.

With limited resources, Princess Leia has commissioned a young officer to assemble a crew of ex-convicts to wage a discreet war against the enemies of the New Republic.

///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

"Captain."

"General."

"You handled yourself well at Arkanis.  You have a knack for improvisation and something of an imagination."

"Thank you."

"Not a compliment, Captain."

"..."

"You hate command structure, you loathe most of your superior officers, and you aren't happy unless you have a view of the big picture."

"I concede that I have... difficulties... working within some parameters."

"General Dodonna told me that you aren't a very good soldier, Captain.  I agree."

"I don't think--"

"But I don't need a good soldier, captain.  I need someone like you."

"Someone like me?"

"You're someone who makes trouble wherever you go.  You can't help it."

"What am I supposed to do?"

"Make trouble, Captain.  I'll give you a ship, give you some leads, and you'll go out and find other troublemakers in the galaxy to help you help us."

"It's guerrilla warfare, then."

"You got it."

"And if we're captured?"

"Obviously, I'll disavow your existence."

"Anything else?"

"You might be able to conscript some recruits from the prison population of Oovo IV."

This game follows the adventures of a small crew of saboteurs. The crew consists of six crew members: a fringer, a noble, a scoundrel, a scout, a soldier, and a tech specialist.  Each character should specialize in certain skills.  This has been amended.

    • The FRINGER specializes in spaceship operations, such as piloting and astrogation, as well as performing repairs.
    • The NOBLE specializes in diplomacy, gathering information, and requisitioning supplies.  {Captain Nrtho Call is the NOBLE}
    • The SCOUNDREL specializes in uses of deception and stealth, such as bluff, disguise, hide, and move silently.
    • The SCOUT specializes in trailblazing, and specializes in listen, spot, and survival.
    • The SOLDIER specializes in combat and, perhaps, treat injury.
    • The TECH SPECIALIST specializes in computer use and crafting objects.

Brief History:  Captain Nrtho Call is Mon Monthma's nephew, and he has served with the rebellion as a blockade runner since shortly after the Battle of Yavin.  He has participated in a number of engagements with distinction, and was awarded the Medal of Bravery for his daring actions during the Battle of Ankaris.

Originally from Chandrila, Call was the son of lawyers and politicians.  He attended the Officer's Candidate School at Carida before transferring to Raithel Academy due to political reasons.  After the Battle of Yavin, he defected to the Rebellion and took on an assignment as a naval officer aboard the blockade runner, Gorgon.  His mission assignments involved supplying rebel forces throughout the Inner Rim, fighting pirates along trade routes, and running Bothan intelligence.

Call hates military structure and inaction due to over-planned stratagems, and he has had a difficult time maintaining his commission as a naval officer with the New Order.  Despite his frequent disagreements with the brass, none question his bravery or his ability to think on his feet.

Thank you.  I would 100% welcome your Infiltrator.  She could be a Scoundrel --> Infiltrator.  Maybe she could be a Scoundrel 8 --> Infiltrator 10 --> Sharpshooter 2.

It's nice to see you again, Opale. :)

Are you willing to accept non-canon species?  I'm thinking of a Karkaradon Soldier.  We could work out the species specifics very easily.

If not, a Cathar or Togorian

And if neither of them float your boat, a Nagai

There are nights when the wolves are silent and it the moon that howls.

Hey, Captain Whitebread.  So, Opale and I started the game.  It's here:  https://elliquiy.com/forums/index.php?topic=327058.0

You are free to join us, however, the rules have been changed.

We are first level gestalts.  HP is max - 2.

If you want, I can quickly make something for you?

Opale is a Scout/Scoundrel, and my guy is a Tech/Soldier.  We are playing it as if our characters are younger, like in their late teens or early twenties.  I guess we could use a Fringer type, who will most likely be our future pilot.

    No.

But I am willing to be one with you with the system.

Not funny?  I know!  I'm lame.  But yes, I would be happy for you to join and play and I would love to help you make a character and to teach you the system, which isn't so overly complicated.

Awesome!  Thank you!  This looks very interesting.  I was thinking of doing something like a scout/soldier type but if it's more necessary, I could pull inspiration from my old daughter of Han character.  She's a lot like Han, except female

Sure, why not?  But I think Han was a Scoundrel.

Uh, I should warn you, however, that the game has a decidedly smutty sort of edge to it.  Will that be a problem?

Based on the list above, If honestly say he was more of a fringer, but yes, the canon called him a scoundrel.   And as far as smut goes, yea I don't mind that.

All right.  Well, can you tell me a little bit more about your character?  You want her to be like Han, so maybe you will be our pilot and, on the other side of things, you could also be a blasterslinger.

If your character was also at an academy of some kind, I would like for your character to know my character from said academy.  I don't make people create very long, complicated histories.  I prefer to build as you go.

TO YOU BOTH, I recommend maybe finding a good image.  It will give me a sort of idea of what sort of character you should be.

    SPECIES: Empathy, Pheremones

    LANGUAGES: Basic, Trandoshan, Rodian, Wookie

History:  Juce isn't sure who his parents are.  He's spent most of his life as a slave to the casino he works in and doesn't remember them.  He assumes that they got into debt and sold him; it is the way many of the casino dealers ended up working there.  On a particular fateful day, he was deemed 'lucky' by a player, who won an obscene amount of money.  As a reward, he was given an enormous tip, which he immediately used to buy his freedom.  Knowing little else, he still works at the casino but certainly not the grueling hours he once worked.  He speaks several languages and often can be found speaking to the bouncers when things are slow.

He's not particularly suited for hard work but he excels in social matters.  When his quick wit, silver tongue and natural pheromones fail, he's not half bad with the blaster he carries.  He doesn't like hurting people, so it's a last resort, perhaps too much of one.  He hopes to one day become as successful a gambler as the Rodian that freed him, so he can return the favour to others in similar circumstances.

Juce frequently wonders if his friends hang with him because he has a vehicle that can hold most of them or because of his pheromones, rather than because they like him.  He is a frequent source of alcohol and sometimes other things and he's always down for a party.  He can be surprisingly gullible at times, especially when faced with a pretty face or a tight set of buns.  'Pretty' is quite subjective; it crosses species lines as well as sexual ones.  More than once he's been found in his speeder, making out with someone from a species he's never encountered.  He's quite curious sexually and has had to go to a medic on more than one occasion after a particularly rough encounter.  He still carries the scars left behind by the teeth of a particularly enthusiastic Cathar, although they have faded considerably.

He has the uncanny ability to talk his friends into doing things; unfortunately he lacks the sense to make the wisest choices as to what to do.  No matter how mad at him they get, his stricken expression in the face of their displeasure usually ends with him being forgiven.  He fully means it when he promises to make better choices but when push comes to shove, he rarely does....

I like the character, but I think you're using a more advanced version of the system.  We are using D20 Core, found here:  http://force.wikidot.com/character-creation

I still think that your character would work, though.  Do you want me to crank out his character sheet using what you've put down?

Too bad, since Juce would have fit right in.
