TheBlackThrone

Let me start out that this game is heavily inspired by Dorohedoro, but the characters the players create will not use anime art. They can use original digital art, but not anime canon art. You also do not have to have seen the anime to RP in this because this is its own thing and everything you need to know is written below.

Game Themes: Complete Sandbox, Gore, Sex, Drugs, Profanity, Dark Theme, Creatures, Freaks, etc.

Forum: NC: Exotic Freeform Small Groups

In this RP, Hole is a dimension created by devils. Every human in this dimension has been abducted from somewhere or were otherwise conceived in hole. Most will have been born in Hole and know nothing of any dimension outside of it. Sorcerers use Hole as a testing ground for their developing magic, and so many of the humans of Hole have been deformed, changed, or altered in some way. Sometimes, they are transformed so maliciously that it requires the expert work of a doctor to restore them to full health. However, the magic cannot be undone. Only the sorcerer who cast the spell can undo it.

There is a mafia-like family of sorcerers under a powerful one [open for play]. Like a real-world mafia, they control territory in the Wizard World. The Wizard World can only be reached using magic doors created by sorcerers. Otherwise, no human from Hole can reach it easily without the use of “black powder,” the substance that naturally fills the veins of sorcerers and grants them their magical powers. The above family is only one. Other players are free to create their own mafias, but they will be rivals.

Hole

The Hole in this game is a rundown city that exists in its own dimension. The dimension was created by devils and sort of seems like a Hell on Earth for humans—not because it has a hellish appearance (it doesn’t) but because of the sorcerers who cross over and openly experiment on them. Many humans in Hole have been transformed into creatures, monsters, and freaks. They have fallen victim to a sorcerer who experimented on them and they were lucky to survive. Most humans live in a constant state of paranoia of being experimented on, killed by sorcerers or other humans taking advantage of them, and struggling with their deformities. Because of these random murders, gangs in Hole started to form who specialize in hunting down sorcerers who cross over into Hole and slay them. Sometimes, the gangs will extract black powder from sorcerers and use it to give them temporary powers. Unfortunately, black powder is addicting. Some humans grow addicted to the power to the point they are willing to use and kill others to possess as much powder as possible. Black powder sells like narcotics in an underground market in the city.

The black powder contaminates the environment. When it rains, the black powder-infused rain is toxic to sorcerers and can kill them if they are exposed to it long enough. Gangs will often target sorcerers during the rains for weakened sorcerers make them an easy target.

Hole can be as realistic as players make it. They can create police departments or create a government within it to control the population and inspire hope. They can be part of a gang that exterminates sorcerers or live neutrally, making light of their existence.

Wizard World

The Wizard World is a dimension that can only be accessed by sorcerers. Humans can access Wizard World using black powder or following a sorcerer through one. It never rains in Wizard World. Sorcerers who have never left Wizard World do not know what rain is or what umbrellas, raincoats, or other rain accessories are. The weather is often ideally perfect. Wizard World was created by devils after the devils realized that sorcerers, when they die, wind up in Hell and are reborn as devils. Sorcerers and Devils live in this world and while Humans would often find devils frightening, to sorcerers, they are an everyday sight—often flying through the air as common as birds.

All sorcerers worship and live in fear of the devils. They are their entertainment and live in mutual harmony. To disrespect a devil means death. Ceremonies, idols, and other festivals regularly happen to praise the devils for they are the equivalent of gods in this game. As far as the city, it is no different than Hole except it is cleaner and more Renaissance artistic. There are ancient structures representing devils all over.

Wizard World is lawless, and thus, the mafias control the government enforcing whatever law they desire to keep the sorcerers in check. Sorcerers being murdered by other sorcerers due to owing money, disrespect, or whatever is a regular occurrence. Sorcerers can also use their magic on other sorcerers to cripple, deform, or transform them. The only way to undo a sorcerer’s magic is to kill the sorcerer or find a very rare sorcerer who has the power to dispel.

In Wizard World, every sorcerer wears a mask. Low-level sorcerers have makeshift masks that they sew, knit, or craft. High-level sorcerers receive their masks from devils by giving them an offering the devil likes. If a devil doesn’t like your offering, then you will never be acknowledged as a high-level sorcerer. The offering is created using the sorcerer’s magic, and so a high-quality offering would match the sorcerer’s high-level magic. Sorcerers are required to make offerings annually to please the devils and also for them to maintain their status. Humans who sneak into Wizard World better not try walking around without a mask. If the mask looks too raggedy or poor, then a devil might notice and get pissed off.

Organizations

In order to have a mafia (Sorcerer) or a gang (Human), players must have a leader, and at least three members. Mafias and gangs are structured simply. There is the leader and everyone else is a “Cleaner.” The cleaners do all the dirty work. Killing other sorcerers or rival gang members, trafficking black powder, etc. The leader does not do this so if you choose the leader expect to rarely get your hands dirty. Usually, leaders only fight other leaders or those strong enough to actually reach them.

In Wizard World, there is a festival called "The Blue Festival." This festival allows sorcerers to make a pact with each other and thus become partners. It isn't easy though. Sorcerers have to best each other in combat. By making the other sorcerer submit, they will enter a ceremony with a devil. A devil will rip a sheet of flesh off of both sorcerers and exchange it, sealing it within the sorcerers with magic. This allows partnered sorcerers to know where their partner is at all times. Sometimes partnerships are romantic, mentor/mentee, or solely business. Sorcerers will often fight to have the strongest partner and so a sorcerer can receive a partner they didn't want. Being that this is an adult site, some people have a fetish for dominating the other so if the person you have asked to be your partner is okay with this, then you do the submission how you both plot.

Wizard World & Hole Roles

Those who don’t want to be in a mafia or gang have many roles they can fulfill. This list is not finite. Players can create almost any occupation as long as its approved by the GM.

Doctor: These beings specialize in reviving near-death patients. While, the sorcerer equivalent can use their powers to restore someone back to health completely, the human equivalent cannot. Survivors of human doctors often live with the scars or Frankenstein-like stitching. Doctors also cannot undo magic deformation.

Game Rules

Sorcerers specialize in one type of magic. When casting spells, they shoot black smoke, and the black smoke has one special power unique to them. Sorcerers will randomly receive a power specialization from the GM. The power can often be very ridiculous such as summoning another entity who has a different power from the sorcerer or turning people into mushrooms or meat pies. The power is random, and most high-level sorcerers don’t even use their powers to take out other sorcerers. Instead, they will use natural, martial might and strategy. Sorcerers will be given the option to PM the GM and tell the GM that yes, they want to have experimented on a human player or no, they do not want to have experimented on a human player. If a sorcerer player chooses experimentation, then the human players will face a randomizer. One of them will become afflicted with the sorcerer’s magic, and they will not know who did it. In game, they will have to find out who did it, in order to undo the affliction. If no sorcerers decide to experiment on humans, then that fun part of the story will not happen. The humans will just not have any rivals unless they are made naturally in game.

Now on with the usual rules:

1. Random. All writers who apply to this game understand that the power selection is random. Writers do not pick what powers their sorcerer will have. Writers can, however, decide if their sorcerer is high-level or a low-level working toward becoming a high-level. Low-level sorcerers will have a high-level magic mentor.
2. No drama. If you do not like the power you received, then you may be in a boat with a few others. It is random. You do not choose. If you do not like this, then do not join this game. Also, do not throw a fit or act passive aggressive. Do not complain about other writers whose characters got the lucky card. It is all random.
3. No drama period. Besides Rule 2, do not bring any drama to this game. Do not argue with the GM and if you are dissatisfied, then just leave. Do not return to the game to perpetuate drama. Your attitude will carry throughout your existence on E, so if you want to burn a bridge over a role-playing game, then just do not join. Steer clear. No one has time for that.
4. One character. At the start of the game, everyone will have one character. Once you continue through the story long enough, then I will allow writers to choose another one if they want. It'll be up to the GM when this happens.
5. Communication. If you plan to go away on vacation for a long time, please inform the GM. You do not have to tell me your business. You just give me a projected date when you will return because I do drop people from the game for a lengthy inactivity.
6. Activity. All writers are required to post once every seven days. If a player has created an action event, those involved should create a posting order so others do not get left behind. If I do not see any activity from you for 14 days, then I will PM you (maybe). If I do not receive a response from you in seven days after I PM you, then I will drop you from the game. I will drop anyone from the game with 30 days of inactivity. If you are active in other games, cool. If you are not active in this game for 30 days, then you will automatically be dropped.
7. Interact with others. You should be trying to interact with others. You can always talk to your fellow writers to collaborate or discuss how to get your character involved. There will be two OOCs. One for sorcerers and one for humans because humans and sorcerers do not get along. In the story, you can have your human and another sorcerer get along, but understand that is not a norm and other characters may ostracize your character for such a relationship.
8. Have fun. You may not get the magic power you wanted. It is how you build off of it and make it work is the writing challenge. You're not alone so have fun with it.
