While walking the streets of a town you notice a sign for a pawn shop. Funny thing is the store looks old yet you can’t remember ever seeing it before. Curious, you enter…

You are greeted by a kindly shopkeeper. He is an old man, very fitting for the musty confines of his store. Walking around you see coats, musical instruments, jewelry, knick knacks of all manner. Then you see something, a collectible from a favorite bit of pop culture. Or maybe you just like how it looks. Regardless you buy the item and go on your merry way. It is not until later you discover it is not a mere replica you have but the real thing!

This is a story about ordinary people who gain extraordinary objects that shouldn’t exist in this world. They come from comics, novels, movies, and television. Now someone once said with great power comes great responsibility but he wasn’t real either. So what would you do if something amazing fell into your hands?

This would be mostly a sandbox, letting people explore their story to their heart’s content. There is the overarching mystery on what the heck that shop actually is. One idea I’m toying with is having it exist in different times and places to really allow a range of characters. But that might make interaction hard so that’s still up in the air.  You can be light and silly or seriously examine the effects of suddenly gaining tremendous power. Just about any pop culture item is allowed, although don’t get too crazy or else you might not have much of a story to tell.
