Earth-76... like much of the multiverse it is a world where great heroes battle dastardly villains. The difference here is that the apex of the age of wonder occurred in the 1970s. A decade of sex, drugs, and rock 'n' roll. Also of Nixon, disco, and questionable fashion choices. Let us pierce the veil of time and space so we can groove on down to the...

This is an idea for a super-hero adventure game inspired by the live-action and animated shows from the late sixties through the early eighties. Super-Friends, The Kid Super Power Hour, Tarzan and the Super 7, The Plastic Man Comedy Adventure Show... Heck, even Legends of the Superheroes and Dynomutt the Dog Wonder. It's other inspiration is things like Boogie Nights, The Nice Guys, Dazed and Confused, and assorted works by Cheech & Chong. What happens when the Silver Age of Comics collides with the Golden Age of Porn? A groovy time for everyone! So choose a hero (except Isis, I get to be Isis) and defend the Me Decade!

I dig this idea! Isis is an awesome choice, and needs a Captain Marvel/Shazam for her team-ups. There’s also this iconic heroine of the 70’s:

Room for the iconic heroine of the 60s (or her 70s counterpart)?

Hey, Batgirl appeared in a commercial about equal pay filmed in the early 70’s, so she’s Right On for you!

Isis, Wonder Woman, & Batgirl would make a fierce trio! Live action Black Canary & Huntress also appeared in Challenge of The Super-Heroes, so we’d have a respectable JLA roster, or a “Fox Force Five” for DC.

And the 70s would be a good time for that.

Oh and I was today years old when I found out that the Batman TV show was responsible for the creation of Babs. She appeared in the comics a few months ahead of Yvonne Craig debuting on the show but it was by request of the producers.

I am interested!  This could be all kinds of light-hearted, sexy, super hero fun.   Though the 70s could also get pretty gritty too.  It'll be a lot of fun to see the takes that end up with it.  I'd like to express interest, if people are amenable.

I was thinking of seeing what people would think about Robin or Firestorm joining the action!  Very different in terms of power levels and all, though I admit that playing Robin he wouldn't quite be as wide-eyed and helpless as Burt Ward's Robin was, and be more fit too.  If he's going to show off those legs and that ass (not to mention that bulge?) then you believe he'd be putting the training hours in.  Any thoughts?  Though I can also just watch as it feels like there's very much a ladies' team forming here.

Foxy DeVille

Dunno about Firestorm. He didn't join the Justice League until 1980 and didn't show up in the cartoon until 1984 when it had a different aesthetic than the 70's version As for Robin for the purposes of this game he'd have to be at least 18 as well as be that old in any pics. He was college age in New Teen Titans and still rocking the short pants so any art from then would be fine.

Armphid

Sounds good to me.  I figured we were counting the full Superfriends run as '70s but I'm with you.  Robin the Teen Wonder it is!  18 is just fine for me.

Shazam / Black Lightning?!?

Shazam yes but Black Lightning wasn't on any of the shows back then. Instead we got Black Vulcan, who had the power of...

LOL I was going to say Black Vulcan but that would have been truly dating myself.  But sure I could go for either one of those as well.

Juggtacular

Oh, God, that one kills me every time!  "I said, how about we call you "White Fish?""  XD

Foxy DeVille

OK, so what characters do we got fer sure? There's Isis and Robin, somebody involving lightning, maybe Batgirl and Wonder Woman?

Foxy DeVille

I'm really tempted to use this photo manip of Tera Patrick for Isis. If here was ever an appropiate place for it...

Sasquatch421

No, no! You have all got it all wrong the only right answer is....

Foxy DeVille

No Wonder Twins I'm afraid. Robin was in college in the 70s but Zan and Jayna are too young.

Would the legendary kung-fu skills of Richard Dragon be accepted in your groovy 70's setting, Foxy Oni?

Alas, I don't think this has the interest level to fire it up. So I'm gonna put this one to bed and maybe retool it later on down the line. Thanks to everyone that chimed in!
