Important Disclaimer & what we are all about

First things first:

Since there has been one or the other misinterpretation in the past:
No, this is not a group about models. Yes, they certainly are a part of the business like many other professions, but not the main focus. That would be a bit one-sided and quite restrictive.

Also - knowledge of the fashion business is not a requirement to join us. By all means, nobody of us is an expert. Improvisation is half the fun, sometimes.


Essentially, the group is about people in the Fashion Industry. Their lives, struggles, affairs and their work. That's all, you say? You would be surprised what all can happen. This industry is a playground for jealousy and resentments, everyone wants to be the number one, everyone wants to be better than everyone else. When people from all over the world get together, things can get heated up in the blink of an eye. Blame that on different outlooks, philosophies, ethnic backgrounds, the desire to be better than everyone else. You name it.

It is very difficult to pin it all down, though. So many different storylines can happen. Characters spin their own tales, make friends and enemies alike, always fighting for a spot in the spotlight - while trying to keep their personal affairs away from the all too prying, merciless eyes and everpresent camera lenses of the gossip magazines and blogs.

It certainly can be a shark pond, this business. Only the strong survive!

The question is -  Will you dare to step into a world where beauty, vanity, glamour, fame and money meets vicious attitudes, hectic, stress, jetlag and the constant, merciless pressure and high demand?

The very beginning of a new fashion year. The first, big shows are about to start and demand is high. That is the time and place where our main story is located anyway, and where all our characters happen to be finding themselves together for one reason or another. This is not a story exclusively about fashion, however, but about these people who are connected to each other by different threads in their lives. There are people who work in fashion, yes, and the people around them, the ones who work for the dream and the ones the dream works for. It is not about the fashion itself, or working for it, but rather a mirror into the lives of the characters we bring into it. Be a designer or a model, or be a celebrity, an escort, an intern - a cog in the machine, the operator, or the one who gets the end result, they are all important and all fun to play as is the world around them. Our world, if perhaps a little shinier through reflection.

• The Golden Rule is in effect. Treat everyone as you wish the better version of yourself should be treated. In the spirit of that, what we offer is exactly what we expect from our fellow writers.
• While there are GMs to maintain a certain pace and standard, we do expect everyone to act as such and feel free to join, initiate, and follow any plot they wish within the given setting and timeframe in order to explore and grow their own characters as well as others.
• Good communicators who know the difference between themselves and the characters they play and know when to work things out if things start bleeding out in between.
• A marked interest in character development over textual intercourse.There are many groups dedicated to smut - this is not one of them.
• An open mind. This group is full of LGBTQA people, but mostly, it is full of writers who have creative, wonderful and diverse points of view, and that is how we like it.
• A relaxed attitude. We are all adults, and in so have a lot of RL things to deal with. RL comes first, and writing should be fun, not something you have to push yourself to do. Sometimes we can post a lot, sometimes we cannot, it is not considered holding someone back, but rather waiting on a good thing. <3
• The ability to maintain a positive atmosphere and friendship within the group. Some of us are shyer than others and take longer to warm up, that's fine. Some of us don't talk OOC a lot, that's fine too. In the end, if you get through the approval process, it is because we want you there, and this means we believe you can be one of us. We will not hesitate to remove someone who proves incompatible with this.
