Songbrook (A Siren rp)

Hello again! It has been a LONG time since I was actually apart of anything on E. I'm coming back from a 5-7 month break. I would really love to try this again but with only this one rp. I tried coming back with a few rp's and it became too much for me to handle. So, I'm only going to be playing in this game. I would LOVE a co-gm to help me keep this on the rails.

This is heavily based on SIREN the t.v. show.

Songbrook is a town famous for mermaids! Well, says the legend that founded the town anyway. The legend is that the first family to find Songbrook were looking for a good fishing area to settle in. Which they found, Songbook's fishing was the best the settlers have ever seen. One day, the father of the family died and his son took over the fishing boat. One day, he caught a mermaid. However, she was actually a siren and she sang to him, begging for him not to kill her and let her return to the sea. The song made him obsessed, making him think he loved her. However, he did release her. This kindness made her come back to him every time he went to sea to fish. More and more, the son fell in love with the siren. Then, one day, she wanted to see where he came from. She went to land, and to both of their surprise, her fin turned into legs and she walked side by side with the human who showed her kindness.

That one visit made her curious of the world above water. However, it couldn't last forever. After about 48 hours, she slowly started to die. 24 hours in, her skin dried and started to flake, the next night, she found it hard to breath and could barely move. She had to return to the water. Changing was painful but she did it often to see the man who she had started to fall in love with. After almost a year, she became pregnant. She was shunned away from her clan and her human had found another human to fall in love with. She went to land and told him everything, he offered her a cabin right by the water and everything she ever wanted, as long as she never spoke about who the child was and more importantly, who the father was. She had no choice but to accept and so, the legend slowly died and people turned mermaids and sirens into myths. All except the shop owner, who owns a tiny shop right on the water. Selling anything mermaid or siren and the story about her family, as well as, the true history of Songbrook.

TODAY: May 2020

A large oil company think they may have found an oil vain on the coast of Songbrook, as they let off sound canon's to look for the vain, it shakes up the world of the local siren pack. Driving them to land as the canon's go off and accidentally kills one of their eldest pack mates. The pack is unstable as the elder was the alpha and the two strongest females are now fighting for dominance. One wants to destroy everything and return to the water. Even if that means fighting other packs for their water. The other (MC) wants to adept to land until they can figure out what they can about what drove them from their home. More than anything, the two want the same thing. To go back to the water. Now the pack depends on the descendant they threw out, an oceanology who specializes in marine science who happened to see them transform, and a fisherman who is batshit crazy, according to the town, who actually has met a siren.

History:
Beryl was very close to the previous alpha, her mother died when she was very young and there was no attachment to fathers as they only serve to protect the pack and mate for babies. While under the alpha, she became close to the other orphaned sirens as parents passed for many reasons. Growing up, she became very close to one siren and they taught each other everything. How to hunt, stamina, where the best fish where, how to stay away from the surface.

More than once she has gone to the surface to look at the humans. It is forbidden to see the humans and go near their world, however, she couldn't help herself. As the canon shattered their world and killed their alpha, Beryl was the one to suggest to go to land and try to understand everything. Most didn't agree until another canon almost killed half their pack.

• From the moment she was born her parents  knew that Myrina would be somebody, as a child she was quick to make loyal friends who stood by her throughout everything. They were willing to do anything to get Myrina approval, at a young age she showed a very dominant and confident personality easily taking charge of small group games and always being the first to volunteer for any role.

  At the age of seven it was decided that Myrina should learn combat training, already a small force to be reckoned with her parents decided that the more regimented and disciplined training or a warrior would help keep Myrina in line. Myrina grew into a strong warrior easily rising to be the best her pack had. When the cannon all but destroyed the pack Myrina was furious she vowed revenged on the humans who thought they could claim the ocean. Some agreed with her, there was only one mer who didn't one who had been a thorn in her side growing up. Beryl.
