White Wolf

Anno Domini 2020.

London Has Fallen.

The Gehenna War is in full effect. All across the Midnight Aristocracy, venal ancients arise from their miserable tombs to answer the siren song and follow the lure of their blood east, to the bitter sands of Mesopotamia and Canaan. They fight for slumbering methuselahs and nameless antideluvian horrors, forced to enslave their young for their own survival against the slavering jaws of the predacious Sabbat, drowning an entire continent in blood in their hopes of snuffing out the first terrifying fires of the Apocalypse.

The ancient ones have abandoned their young in the dark church pews and alleyways of Europe and America, helpless prey to a newly-resurgent and increasingly-adept and knowledgeable Second Inquisition, an unholy marriage of Catholic ferocity and counter-terrorist firepower that has rocked the World of Darkness to its very core for the first time in nearly six centuries,. Against the fires of this last and most terrible of crusades the impatient youth rage, burning down the altars of their antecedents and ripping up the traditions and laws that were once held so sacred.

Blood begets blood, and for those for whom blood is a lifeline, war is eternal. Childe turns on sire, sire turns on childe, blood sibling on blood sibling as the lost generation of Kindred vie not for power or dominance in this world of instant communication, negative oil prices and rigged primary elections but for meaning.

If we turn our backs on our history, if we refuse to let that which was define us...then for what purpose do we stalk the shadows of the night, if not for the simple pleasure of blood?

But through the fires of perdition, dark angels may arise.

Perdition, one of the newly-declared Commune of Baltimore's oldest Kindred clubs, finds itself without a master. It's original master, Erzsebet da Silva, answered the call to the Gehenna War almost 20 years ago, leaving the club in the care of her ancilla childe, Bartholomew Hendricks. A few poorly conceived plays in the world of the living saw Hendricks on the business end of a Second Inquisition fireteam. Wiped out by the cruel hand of the Kine, Perdition was left to Hendricks' loyal retainer, a ghoul, Ivan Xavier, who made the fatal decision to side with the Ivory Tower against the Anarchs when Camarilla rule came to be questioned across the width and bredth of the continental United States.

Now, Perdition stands abandoned, a once invaluable location for vampires of every political persuasion to meet on neutral ground, for kine to mingle with immortals, for new ideas and debates to flourish, for every dark perversion and sin to be bought and sold...

...the newly anointed Baron of Baltimore seeks to restore this proud landmark of a once great city. And so the gauntlet has been thrown - the Perdition Club is under new management. It is time for them to rise to the occasion.

I'm looking for a small group of players to play a Vampire: The Masquerade 5th Edition game.

The premise is that the players are a coterie of vampires appointed by the newly-crowned Baron of Baltimore to run Perdition, a nightclub with a long and sordid history among the city's Kindred and kine alike.

Perdition serves as an unofficial neutral zone where, in the past, vampires of every sect and clan have been able to meet without fear of violence or antagonism. While the Masquerade is absolutely upheld, it is also a place where vampires may stalk mortal club-goers with little to no oversight. The Camarilla may have reigned in Baltimore not too long ago, but they were happy to turn a blind eye to some of the more grizzly details of what went on in Perdition's basement...

...for far from simply being a place to discuss politics and grab a snack, Perdition has a reputation across the city of Baltimore as being a place that makes things happen. If a mortal state legislator has a predilection for certain pleasures that may be...inconvenient to acquire...they know to come to Perdition, where no requests are refused. A Ventrue Elder whose palette only allows for the most singular vintage knows that in Perdition, their unique tastes will be catered to. And an Anarch rabble rouser who has decided the time has come for that bothersome Primogen to be knocked off can come to Perdition, knowing that a gun for hire is never out of reach.

Perdition is a place where dreams become reality, no matter how dark or blood spattered. For those whom the Baron appoints to run it, they will not just inherit one of the city's most exclusive nightclubs and a nigh-endless reserve of fresh, hot blood, but also the responsibility to make sure the wheels keep on turning, and Perdition remains the invaluable asset to the city of Baltimore that it has always been.

The players will be tasked with running Perdition, balancing the requirements of the Masquerade and their outward identities as club owners with the political machinations of the Kindred, and rivals both within and without the club. All the while, if they seek to slake some of their more profane pleasures in the dark corners of Perdition...well. To the victor the spoils.

If you're interested in playing, send me a Private Message with your character concept. Don't worry about making a formal V5 character sheet at the outset; once I have a few players on board, I will set up a thread for the group to introduce everybody and discuss everyone's hopes and desires for the game. Character sheets can be dealt with at that point.

Whatever darker forces Perdition's owners may traditionally traffic with, they are ALL in keeping with Elliquiy's rules and terms of use. Prior to the game, all players will have an opportunity to set their own limits on what they are and are not comfortable with - the bar is only as high as what every single player is happy to explore. This way, we can be sure that as things get rolling, there are no problems and no falling outs :)
The stars are coming right. Is this really the end?
