What is American Horror Story?
(abbreviated as AHS) is an American anthology horror television series created by Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk. It is broadcast on the cable network FX. Each season is conceived as a self-contained miniseries, following a different set of characters and settings, and a storyline with its own "beginning, middle, and end." Some plot elements of each season are loosely inspired by true events. Many actors appear in more than one season, but often play a new character. Season 1 - Murder House was Los Angeles, California (2011) centered on a family who moves in a house haunted by its deceased occupants. Season 2 - Asylum was Massachusetts (1964) centered on patients and staff of an institution for the criminally insane. Season 3 - Coven was New Orleans, Louisiana (2013) centered on a coven of witches facing their enemies. Season 4 - Freakshow was Jupiter, Florida (1952) centered on one of the last remaining American freak shows and their struggle for survival. Season 5 - Hotel was Los Angeles again (2015) centered on staff and guests of a supernatural hotel. Season 6 - Roanoke was North Carolina (2014-2016) centered on an isolated farmhouse haunted by the deceased Roanoke colony. Season 7 - Cult was Brookfield Heights, Michigan (2017) centered on a cult terrorizing residents in the aftermath of the 2016 U.S. presidential election. Season 8 - Apocalypse was well, the end of the world where it depended on witches to battle the Antichrist. Season 9 - 1984 was 1984 outside Los Angeles centered on a summer camp getting ready to reopen after a massacre.

Season 101 - Cruise was from Miami, Florida to the Caribbean (2020-2021) centered on a cruise lost at sea, adrift somewhere they shouldn't be.

Oh my, this has my interest!

I was a part of a couple AHS based games here that sadly didn't last too long. And one of my first big group games here was on a cruise. So smash them together... and we have double my interest!

I'm going to think of a concept or two and toss them over.

Xurtan

Hm. Tempting. I think my dance card is probably too full for this sadly, but I'll keep an eye on it. ;D AHS is kind of an amazing series, I will admit, and a cruise ship is a fun locale for it!

lux89

<3   AHS is definitely amazing.  Lol consider then AHS and Cruise smashed ~ xD

Just worked on one NPC hehe.

Player: Lux89
Faceclaim: Cheyenne Parker
Character: Lucky Forester
Gender & Sexuality: Male, Gay, & see my O/O in siggy.

Concept: Guest. Instagram model. Narcissist. Says he desperately wishes to escape his glamorous and luxurious life so much because of the stress when the truth is, he wishes to escape the scrutiny of the world while relishing his glamorous and luxurious life. Around others, Lucky acts all slutty and confident with big dick energy when he is actually a virgin who masturbates to his own pictures. Single child, father dead from drunk driving, mother lost to dementia. He learned early on that his looks paid off. Escape artist. In his own world. His puppy eyes are 80% effective. He was once a lifeguard.

Subplot: By season finale, Lucky Forester might become either a vampire, a mermaid, a ghost, or none of the above. Vain and self-obsessed with body transformation and attaining beauty, he would be drawn to the idea of becoming a vampire while horrified at becoming a mermaid. It would be ironic if Lucky were killed and trapped on this ship, Instagramming forever. Otherwise, as a joke, he may return home unchanged and underwhelmed.

Monologue: "Ugh. Rona! Such a cockblock. Can't Insta this martini. Can't go Live with swinging my poi... Actually, you know, fuck it? I'll just make a private album? Who cares what everybody thinks. Die classy bitch. That's my motto, my graduation speech. As hell opens up, down to your final and worst moment, even if you're facing death in the eye, die classy. Do what you want. When you're classy, you can be me. Do anything, even things you once thought weren't possible. You can be beautiful. Wow, forgot about 'rona. I'm so sexy, I am so hard right now."

Just worked on the second NPC!

Player: Lux89
Faceclaim: Trey Baxter
Character: Max Hepburn
Gender & Sexuality: Male, Gay, & see my O/O in siggy.

Concept: Staff. Casino cashier. Warlock leaning Satanist. He was discovered by warlocks at a homeless shelter. Graduated from Hawthorne School for Exceptional Young Men, Max left the council of warlocks and roamed the casino industry before retreating from society altogether by employing on a cruise for the past five years. Despite having passed the rite of Seven Wonders in solitude, he was still unable for unknown reasons to become Alpha. This further supported Cordelia Goode's claim that witches were and have always been superior for the lack of testosterone-charged obstruction to the ethereal realm. Left with no choice but be seduced to satanism, Max researched what he could on its unholy powers. However, his hand hasn't yet signed a deal with the devil. He also had seen too much on his trips through the mysterious Bermuda waters, the Devil's Triangle, the Hoodoo Sea.

Subplot: By season finale, Max will compete with other warlocks if any to become Alpha... What connection he has to Satan remains to be seen... He will often be the storyteller of sordid histories and the wayward guide through the storms. He may himself delve into the mysteries that lurk beneath or host onboard the games demons play. Max is the navigator through hell, which may or may not portray him as a villain. He may succeed and become Alpha. He may die as a ghost, become a merman, or distort into a demon. Either way, he will peel back the Atlantic veil.

Monologue: "They call it the Information Age. But it's all distraction. A masterminded diversion from dark, primordial truths. Me? I've seen what's out there. I've been to the edge of the earth. The end of the world isn't a time, it's a place. Where death dies, and life lives. But you spent most your life struggling to stay seen and heard. Because of the likes, the praise, and the sycophants who wipe your ass, you think you know how the world works. That's just the room you built. You haven't sailed miles from the mainland into the perfect storm. You haven't risked it all. You haven't looked at the abyss and seen how many eyes look back at you and it shows. You still think we need a moral compass where we're going. I guarantee you, we'll get lost. As we do, the devil finds you alone and holds your hand. Sometimes... his is a cold and wet hand."

Extra:

Added some exposition in hopes to seduce more players!

While Hurricane Katrina hit Miami, it was at a homeless shelter where everything changed for Max Hepburn.
Gangbangers surrounded him. Some wore faces of sadistic glee, but others were more solemn.

Rain pelted glass and mortar, rumbling the ground. Some laughed at the thrill of how close danger came.

Platinum light exploded through the windows. This illuminated the gang leader hunched over a mirror coated with ocean water.

"All right, Max. Now you say her name. Doesn't matter what fucking name it is, Bloody Mary, La Llorona, Maria, the Weeping Woman in White.
The Blue Lady. Now see, I did some of the work. That makes it easy on you. I said them once. You just need to say any one of them twice."

Max looked from the wet mirror to the gang leader in the eyes. "And if I don't?"

Thunder spread under their feet. The leader raised his gun.

"We need her protection. To do that, we have to sacrifice somebody. Stealing and drowning kids are usually her thing, but your sacrifice can count."

The leader pressed the gun into Max's temple, prompting him to say "The Blue Lady."

Suddenly, crying was heard from a dark corner. Some gangbangers turned heads, "... Did you hear that?"

But the storm wailed so loudly, the others had to laugh. "Your mind's playing tricks, bitch."

Even the leader looked spooked. Max eyed the gun to his head.

The leader returned to, and said, "Finish it."

Max glanced into the wet mirror. He saw her wraithlike appearance hovering at the ceiling. "The Blue Lady."

Silence grew and stifled everyone. Then, some choking. Splattering. Max looked up at the gangbangers.
They were clawing their throats, gagging up water and more water as if they were being dragged underwater.
Then the sobbing woman with gills slashed in her cheeks screamed in their faces, out of pure grief.

The gangbangers collapsed, dead and blue. Oozing out water.

Max dared lift his horrified eyes from the slaughtered. The Blue Lady came for him until the doors broke open.

An impressive display of lightning bolts flared across the sky behind the entering men in hats, boots, and trench coats.

"Max Hepburn," a handsome one with a trimmed beard came forward to offer a hand.

Max looked around wildly for the mermaid ghoul but she was gone.

"Don't worry. She can't hurt us."

Piqued, Max took his hand. He asked, "Who are you?"

"Surely you've heard of Miss Robichaux's Academy for Exceptional Young Women," the man said.

"For witches?" Max tried to follow. The man nodded.

"We're here to take you to Hawthorne School for Exceptional Young Men. We believe you have potential."

Fifteen years later, the Jubilee cruise slowly docked at port. The heavy anchor plummeted with the rest of its chain.
Max Hepburn looked out at a sunny Miami and densely populated beaches reopening after months of quarantine.
Some of them had face masks on which was pointless and no longer had purpose. Max stared grimly before descending into the boat.

He walked through the casino, passing the dealing tables, roulettes, and arcades. He stood at the front as a cashier for the betting men.

LOVE ;D

Roen

Hmm, maybe.
I do love some aspects of AHS, and a cruise game might be fun.
I'd probably play an original, character and faceclaim, if that's alright.

Roen

Thank you.

I'm thinking about a vampire one that is also the owner of the night club on the sun deck. A real nihilist one, a corruptor that encourages debauchery and excess, because blood of ecstasy is his drug of choice. He'd be the one making sure that every production ends in a steamy orgy up at the VIP section of the club, where everyone wake up the next morning with hazy memories of a good time and maybe a few pints short of blood.

Would that work for the game?

Edit: As for faceclaim, I'm considering David Corenswet, or perhaps someone of that style.

I would say yes, that sounds like fun! Someone is making two other vampires, if you don't mind a little fang drama.

It's like some horny geek build him in his parents' basement.

Not sure about a second character yet, probably a human. Maybe a lower working class guy that somehow managed to get a ticket, either by some lottery or by cheating.

Yes, in retrospect, he would have been better off catching a movie instead.

Anyway, we need more players!

Yeah. We do. D: I KNOW there are interesting writers and visionaries around here!! -searching high and low for them-
Wrote with them before. -peeks around furniture and behind curtains- Greatly entertaining. Five stars, would recommend. ★ ★ ★ ★ ★

I'll give it time. People have told me they love AHS, are interested in this, and still working on their character sheets.
I believe them unless I mean, it was going to be a lot of fun but if they change their mind, that's fine too. FINE. Forsake me... :P

-patiently flips over couch and exasperatedly opens the window, shouting and singing out offkey at the world--
"EXTRA! EXTRA! AMERICAN HORROR STORY ROLEPLAY!!
THERE'S THEATER, OPERA, MADNESS, SEX, MONEY, FILTH,
LIES, LOTSA LOTSA OCEAN, AND WEIRD CAMPY VIOLENCE!!
COME ONE, COME ALL, COME AS WHO YOU A~ARE!!"

-hears a faint shout back to "SHUT UP"-  yep I think they got it.

I love AHS. And this cruise theme is giving me Ghost Ship vibes, which is also a favorite. I'd like to plant tentative interest on this one.

Yes for Ghost Ships!

I'm working on my 2 guys right now, I've been super procrastinating but I think I'll be able to finish them up soon. Surprisingly (or maybe not) the hardest part seems to be the monologues for me.

TBH same. It really takes getting into that character's head, woof that is hard.
When all is lost, let's think how would Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk write it? xD
