Hi all!  Keeping in mind that I would be completely new to DMing online....would anyone be interested in a Ghosts of Saltmarsh campaign?  I had just started an in-person campaign before the pandemic hit, and really enjoyed it.  I figure 4-5 players would be ideal.

Yes, I'll be using the 5e setting. 

Character Creation

- Everyone will start at level 1

- I do 8+2d4 for stats

-Player's handbook +1 for races/classes/etc.

Appearance
Sergeant Harbottle has the large and powerful build common to Half Orcs. Facially he favours his Human heritage, his tusks being quite small and only noticeable when he smiles or bares his teeth. The healthy tan from pounding the beat hides to a degree the grey/green hue of his exposed skin. Overall he appears as a large and plain man on cursory inspection.

Personality
Sergeant Harbottle never knew his Orcish father. His mother was ravished by an Orc raider whilst working as a dairy maid in a farming community. The country folk, bearing a strong dislike of the Orcs demanded that his mother dispose of the large and mewling halfblood. Instead she gathered her meagre possessions and her infant and departed to the nearby city. Finding lodgings in the city slums where folk were less discriminating Mother Harbottle toiled as a barmaid/washerwoman/seamstress or any other temporary menial position to raise her boy and in time was courted by a member of the city watch.

The guard, a kindly and honest soldier accepted his adopted son without prejudice and instilled in the growing boy a sense of duty and honour. When the time came for the growing man to choose a profession his large build made him ideal to follow in his adoptive father figure's footsteps and enter the service of the city watch. He served capably although unremarkably for several years and earned promotion in due course.

The nondescript course of the Sergeant's life changed during a routine encounter with a small gang of cutpurses in a dark alley. Pursuing a fleeing rogue into the night the Sergeant cornered his suspect who drew a hand crossbow and got off a hurried shot before Harbottle was able to grapple and arrest him. The bolt hit the Sergeant in the knee and a foul poison coating the head resisted the standard city watch level of healing. Partially lame Harbottle was honourably discharged from service on medical grounds.

Some months passed with the Sergeant reduced to serving as a doorman/bouncer until whilst making an offering at a chapel to Tempus an itinerant cleric of that faith on hearing of his story performed a greater healing and fully restored the injury. The Sergeant, now fully restored chose not to rejoin the watch, but instead to repay Tempus by bringing justice and protection to those who had none as a wandering adventurer.

Appearance
Decosta stands tall and wiry, his build whipcord and rough with a strange looseness to it. His face always seems in a gaped-tooth grin with permanent heavy stubble that never seems to grow beyond a rough cropping. Brilliant blue eyes show mirth and dart around scanning the area around. His bright blue waist hangs loose over his frame with a red bandana wrapped around his head, and a deeper crimson sash wrapped around his waist with pouches and bangles hanging from it Not to mention a long rapier, a curved shortsword, and a pair of wicked daggers tucked in.

Personality
Humorous and prideful, Decosta travels the world sampling all it has to offer, so long as it seems interesting. He takes his honor and word very seriously when insulted, but remains fairly flexible with it when he can get away it. Rarely really shows anger, tending to act more "disappointed" with people. He treats life as a game with its ups and downs, but by no means cannot be a sore loser.

Appearance

Yesmythe is a striking half-elf female and a local sea dog in Saltmarsh. Ask any sea dog to describe Yesmythe, they will always start with the half-elf with the raven black hair and blue-green eyes. Normally dressed in a black-flowing tunic and pants, her hair seems to be constantly moving in the breeze, even if there is none. Standing at 5'5", Yesmythe is slim and her movements efficient.
Personality
To those who know Yesmythe, she is friendly and easy to get along with. Depending on the social situation, she can be as polite as a noble's daughter or swear like a fishman's wife. Her moods are mercurial like the weather. One moment she could be laughing and the life of the party, the next minute electrify a stranger who dare take "advantage" of her.
