Do you like visual novels?

Some time ago I wrote a game called Visual Novel World which I'm housing on my discord that's Powered by the Apocalypse. It's had mixed reviews given the nature of most (but not all) of its content, and I was playing it on another site, but I'm thinking about abandoning the other site because of certain moderation policies they have. I've decided to bite the bullet and try to start running another game again. The previous game I ran in a visual novel style was not so great (I think because of inconveniences with student scheduling or something) so I'm thinking about scrapping that idea in favor of one of the following:

• Feudal Japanese girls are trying to get Senpai in an ancient town harried by a curse following one of its citizens
• Some years ago, tentacle monsters overran the modern town, there was an underground effort by a black ops company that managed to cobble together a mecha team by the skin of its teeth
• The Battle Ranger Elite Angels Strike Team (was originally called Battle Roadster Elite Angels Strike Team, but requiring everyone to have motorcycles was dropped for some reason I can't quite remember) are a group of girls enhanced by fallout from an alternate dimension that also happens to make their breasts larger and be the origin of tentacle monsters. Issues are complicated by the Dudes In Crime for Kicks, who resent women's newfound power. They are more of an inconvenience though, because they rarely gain the benefits of these enhancements.
• Players are all "Research Subjects" at a secret facility. Whether the facility is military depends on what the players want.
• Players are all either doctors or patients at an asylum, only all of the "disorders" are sexual.

While the rules for Visual Novel World are on the discord linked in my sig, I would ideally like to play a group game here.

I'm also open to other players' ideas for scenarios that would crop up in visual novel style games.

TL;DR-I wrote an RPG system and am looking for a tentacle monster game with that system in NC/Human or NC/Exotic, preferably with at least 4 players, but the more the merrier. Also if someone has a better idea, I'd consider that too.

Interest noted mostly if there is F/F content. As for ideas, the "research subjects" and "sexual disorders" plots really appeal to me. :)

That brings up a point about what sort of content we want on the table. Looks like with that sheet, the feudal game is out. Also bonds are calculated based on which attributes are prioritized for the individual game, so that needs to be ironed out as well.

Well, we've only had one sheet submitted. They indicated preference for the test subjects/asylum storylines. Succubi make the most sense for Test Subjects of the two submitted, though they also make sense for... pretty much all the stories.

If you're not embarrassed by a 6-(e.g. don't take the penalty), you don't gain RP from it. If you are, or are willing to take another penalty, you get the RP. The willingness to take some other penalty to get the RP isn't written in explicitly, but it makes sense.

Sounds good. Another question: Your proposed sheet asked who our character's senpai is. I thought the GM was the senpai?

That's a point that needs to be discussed that can vary from game to game. In an Asylum game it could be The Review Board, and allow for players to focus on individual members within the board. In B.R.E.A.S.T. it could be members of the top brass. Both allow the freedom for players to pursue who they want. In other games, Senpai is one entity and everyone is competing for him or her. Like the owner of a club or the Capo of a crime family, or the CEO of a company (which would actually work great for the mecha aspect of the modern Tentacle Monster game). Sometimes you run into groups where everyone's got different ideas about who they're interested in and I got more legwork to do. At that point I like to talk individually with players if they're not feeling whoever I've presented as a potential senpai. The odd man out is the test subject game, which I haven't designated a senpai for. It would only make sense for the admins of the project to be senpai if the players don't plan on escaping. If they do, they could potentially seek solace/comfort at whatever town they run off to and hope they don't get made.

Ok, so what's your ideal bid for the game this character is in?

I imagine that she's a childhood friend of her 'senpai'. Either she left for a few years, mysteriously coming back as a succubus or a mystrious power recently turned her into one. As such, the 'Battle Ranger Elite Angels Strike Team' game would suit her most, but the research subject and asylum ones would also suit her well, I think.

Really wanted to run this, but I will need more players to even bother. I prefer a minimum of 4 but no particular maximum.

OK, so the user Soveliss has reinvigorated my interest in running Visual Novel World with the following idea:

And the story is a slice of life about their lives when the game is not running, and the various aches that results from the action. ("He's got a game over again. You're alright love?" "I know that the way I fuck you just conveys how defeated you are, but does that idiot playing have any idea how ridiculous this is? This position is not fun for me at all! You have it easy in this scene!" "And when I win, you are in for a world of hurt in how I punish your misdeeds... You never win do you love?")

This of course got me thinking: "Could be done in VNW if one character's senpai is "The Player" and the other(s) is/are "The programming". Of course there would need to be at least 1 Conflicted Loyalties drive."

I'm also thinking about the variety of games that I've played there's been a few where the player was able to control more than one of the characters. I would say that no more than 2-3 characters could have "The Player" as senpai, with all the others being victims of the programming. I would need to come up with a way to determine whether The Player was online though... but this is a Apocalypse World Engine game so it's not especially complicated to do. Probably would be Avoid Danger with +Cool for the character controlled by the player to avoid saying or doing something totally exploitative.

It could also turn the idea of a wincest visual novel on its head with one of "The Players" siblings being a character and they fuck like rabbits because that's how wincest goes, but when the player is inactive, they're both really guilty and sad about it... Up to the players whether they change their minds as both the game, and the metagame progress.
