Roughly where does technology / 'science' fall in this world?  IE what is being used for light sources, communication, etc.

Torches, oil lamps, things like this. So very limited in general.

Communication is done by horse rider, or potentially by messenger bird in particularly well established locals.

Almost enough to make me wish I'd gone for something communication based for a utility. *ponder* Oh well, I like my kit. Curious to see what everyone else comes up with!

Heya, this setting looks really cool. I have a D&D 5e character that I just finished Curse of Strahd with that I'd really liked to convert into your format and port into this RP. I think her backstory will blend with your world setting very very well.

In 5e she's an Elf Paladin of Conquest, but I've done my best to convert her for this world. I'm not familiar with Diablo so I might need your help filling in a few blanks, like where in the world she'd likely to be from. Hope it's OK!

I don't know about flesh-eating, but burning things is always good.  I half wanted to go a more elemental direction with my kit, but glad I went a more unique route tbh.

Feel free to use us as a sounding board if it helps, or perhaps poke Aethyr--she likely has some ideas. I know in my case I worked through several concepts, but it helped to have a sort of 'base' idea of the magic I wanted to explore. Building from the trait forward, so to speak. After that it became obvious in the writing what most fit as far as "class" or race, which lent itself to certain backgrounds.

I agree, I found it really helpful to work that way. Start from the bottom up and all of your abilities are rooted in the concept of who your character is.

Well currently jugling ideas for a character with a transformation gimmick if you will. Maybe with some internal struggle tied to it. Perhaps a vampire or werewolf flavored kit, using the 'trait' to emulate the transformation. Or maybe a Lammet with a stronger tie to its demonic ancestry, able to draw out its demonic potential but at same time struggling not to be taken over by it entirely.

I've sent in an 'Aura of Protection' type Paladin/Tank to complement the offensive DPS type characters I've seen submitted so far.

Some frontliners would definitely not be a bad idea, though obviously there's room for more or less any concept it seems. Ink is working on a support sheet, I think? Paladin/Tank types are fun. :) And I like the transformation gimmick idea! Werewolves in particular are always a treat, but any of the three sounds like it could be a fun addition., imo.
