I believe abilities are more physical in nature and handled by Fighters and Rangers, while Powers are held by Casters and Healers and basically govern a lot of the fantastical bull crap we'll be pulling out of our figurative hats. xD

No idea how it's playing out though. x.x

It's unclear to me because in the intro hunters are described as 'awakened' humans with special abilities. Meaning that they should all have some sort of special thing to them. So it doesn't make sense to me that casters and healers get 'powers' while fighters and rangers get "abilities". What's the difference?

I think it has to do more with physical skill capability.

Let's say for example a Fighter snd a Caster wield swords. The Caster could probably use their sword well enough on their own while mixing up Powers inbetween. But a Fighter could have access to skills and tricks that Caster may not while using the sword, like an attack where they'll move quick enough to create after images while slashing through an enemy, or generating a large sword aura to augment their attacks.

One way to look st it is Abilities are for the physically inclined and include heightened strength, reflexes, mobility, stuff to last longer up close, while Powers let Casters and Healers operate from safe distances without endangering themselves too much.

Of course, the two divides can probably intersect a bit, but early on when everyone is still digging into their basic classes were probably expected to keep it relatively simple.

If all else fails, it may be wiser to wait for a response from LeSane, incase I'm spreading misinformation. @_@

Sorry for the radio silence I have been busy with work the past couple days. I still have to contact a few of you who I haven't accepted and create OOC and character thread.

Kain Bronson. At your service.

” We assume you're of legal age, but for the record, can you address it now?”

Twenty-Four years old.

” There is no mistake that you're a hunter, but what's your hunter rank and class?”

Fighter. D-Rank at the moment. But I've got big plans. You'll see a big S by my name soon. Just watch.

” So tell me what your reason for remaining a hunter? Nothing is stopping you from living a normal life.”

A normal life ain't a lucky life. And as dangerous as this is, it pays. Mom is sick, Dad is hurt from trying to provide. And I've got a little brother and sister not even in middle school yet. My family needs this more than I do. And I'll do anything for them.

” I can see that though tell me. What makes you think you'd fit for Shuma from those waiting outside? Sell yourself to me..."

Aside from my rugged good looks and skills, I'm a battlefield tactician. I can see how the enemy moves, how they fight, how they operate and pick them apart. Oh, and I'm pretty entertaining. Music, singing, stories. I do it all.

” I ain't sold just yet. Is there anything else you want to tell us? If not, a background check can be arranged off the record, of course. Kidding mostly.”

Uhhhh. Well, no shame in it I guess. I've sorta got a record. I've been cleared of all charges, but when we first got our powers...I beat a group of guys to death protecting a family from them. They weren't Hunters so it was declared a gross misuse of power at the time. Things change, though.

” We kinda doubt you're gonna sit and wait to be called on when a job springs up. So what do you do on your off time? Part-time job, maybe?”
I don't get much off time. If I'm not training, I'm hunting. If I'm not hunting, I'm lookin' after my folks best I can. If I'm not doin' that? ...Well

”  Now something that'll be stricken off the records. Is there anything you want to tell us? As a guild, we're supposed to be family, no hiding secrets.”

I'm a fighter. Damn good. Don't look at my rank, either to judge. I'm one of the best you've ever seen, and if you've ever gone to the underground arena, you'd see me proving that night in and night out. Hunting pays good, but until I raise my rank or hit it big in a dungeon, this helps pay the bills and keep my family afloat.

” Alright, that's enough for today. We have your information, and the World Hunter Association has set you and the rest up with a hotel until you're given the word. If you get a call, come back here in two days.”

Abilities:
Overdrive - Using Overdrive allows Kain to increase his speed and agility by several times. His perception of time and reflexes keeps up with his speed so he doesn't crash into anything.

Amplification - Kain can either pour his energy into a limb to increase the striking power behind it, through his entire body for an overall power boost, or imbue that energy into a weapon, increasing it's primary trait.(i.e. a sword would become far sharper and less likely to break while he's amplifying it)

Aegis - Kain summons a skintight force field that takes damage on his behalf until it breaks. There is a small chance of any damage done being reflected back on his attacker.

Byakko(White Tiger) - His ultimate technique(at the moment), Byakko is a technique that combines his other three abilities all at once, turning him into a super fast, super tough battering ram. Whether using a weapon or his bare hands, the sound of the impact resembles the roar of a tiger, hence the name Byakko.

"I want to save all the little boys and girls of this big bad world," Gigi says sarcastically. The officer behind her coughed behind her and glared so much she could almost feel it boring through the back of her head. "Truth...it's this or jail. For some reason, Officer Clemmons thinks this is a good idea. Besides normal is overrated. I've got too much to do to worry about being normal."

"Sell myself?" Gigi Scoffed, "Is this a cash upfront service I'm signing up for?" she joked with a soft laugh. Officer Clemmons groans and pinched the bridge of his nose. "What you see is what you get with me. I don't play games, besides given the choices I'd rather work my ass off for you all then in the clink printing license plates." At this point, Officer Clemmons was full-on facepalming.

"Go ahead and get my records, hell I'm sure Big C here has already sent them to you. I don't and can't hide from my past. I just know my future is meant for more."

"I've got things I need to do, people I need to see, places to go." Gigi smiles a bit, "I'll keep myself busy between assignments. And I will behave myself." she tries to keep a straight face but fails. "Ok what about not getting caught again?" she asks but soon losses the joking tone in her voice as she looks at between the people in the room. She sighs, "Honestly I think I'll just do the same things I always do, and maybe find some sort of paying job. Girls got to eat...unless you all pay? You do pay right?" Gigi asks with a curious tone. After all, they'd be risking their lives, that at least deserved some hazard pay!

"These questions seem a bit repetitive don't they?" she asks with a sigh and sits back. "A family," Gigi thinks for a moment, "Yeah a family of demon hunters," she laughs softly. "It sounds like an anime in the making," she speaks in a sarcastic tone. But if someone pays attention they might be able to tell that the subject struck something within her. "I'll play nice as long as they aren't ass holes. But I can't promise something I'm not sure of yet. I don't get in the habit of making promises I can't keep."

” Alright, that's enough for today. We have your information, and the World Hunter Association has set you and the rest up with a hotel until you're given the word. If you get a call, come back here in two days.”

"Right ok," Gigi stands quickly figuring it will end up being a no. May as well milk the two days of free time, maybe see if she can shake her dutiful officer. She wasn't used to people taking a chance on her. Hell, most people just saw a street kid while she was growing up. "Room service included right, I doubt I'll be allowed to wonder." Gigi nodded to Officer Clemmons before shrugging it off and heading for the door.

As she leaves Officer Clemmons stays behind for a moment. "She's got an attitude on her, but she's in because of getting caught stealing. But it wasn't for her, never is. I've known this kid for years now and she's never done anything for herself. She looks out for others on the streets, modern-day robin hood if you would. Only she has a smart ass mouth that won't let people see that. I wouldn't have brought her here if I didn't think she was a good fit. Gigi has the potential to be something great. She just needs the chance to see that for herself."

Power: (Assuming this is a power and not an ability?)
Gigi possesses the ability to absorb energy, whether that energy be kinetic or otherwise.  This energy is stored within her body like a battery and can be used to deliver an energy touch attack.  The severity of the discharge depends on how much stored energy Gigi expends, but she could theoretically discharge enough energy to kill a person if she drained herself and was at near full capacity. If Gigi absorbs energy from a person, she does not store said energy for discharge.  Instead her body becomes stronger, faster and more durable, this effect increasing the more she absorbs.

If Gigi absorbs too much energy she runs the risk of overloading.  She can discharge small amounts of energy as she walks to avoid this, but tends to leave blackened footprints burned into the ground when she does this.  When is near her absorption limit she begins to feel ill... a strong feeling of vertigo and nausea overcoming her.  If she continues to absorb energy at that point, she could very well literally explode outward in an enormous blast of concussive heat.  This would likely render her unconscious.

Trained in Kenpo, Not a master but can make a great show of holding her own. Using her powers with it is new though.

Want to make a note, she is still leaning to use her ability and will have a lot to learn before she is a master of it.
